Out of all the bad writing , the Coachella of cosplay took the cake. The event was empty because they bought the only map, no one else could find the place.
I thought Trish would comeback. She was supposed to be in the sequel in 2 but they changed the script. I think the quality of the series have degraded to the point she doesn't want to comeback now.

I laughed out load when the chick got taken out by the ax to the back of the head. Something about the way she fell just killed me. Also, they chose to send the guy with the broken leg up the stairs?!? 🙄
That’s what’s really unfortunate - 1 and 2 are very solid horror movies and the creeper is a great villain.. then they gave us 3 which was a mess and 4 is so generic and dull that I really have to force myself to finish it
It is worse unfortunately. But still it's worth it to watch and support the film in hopes we get a better sequel. Sometimes it happens like we got a good sequel to predator.
Part 3 was good in the 1st and final act. It was that 3rd act with the giant gun and bad CGI that really hurt it. Stan Shaw and Meg Foster really carried it with their performances.
1 was best and 2 was pretty good and 3 was subpar but also had the lowest budget I think $6 million. This 4 was even less I think like $5 million so factor in inflation and that's why CGI and creature effects were so poor.
Sorry you both had such a long drive to watch such a bad movie, but your review made me laugh so many times - so thank you 😄 I believe every word you both said, although I probably will watch it at some point in the far future, just to see for myself how it could possibly be worse than JC3.

Just saw this Tuesday night. It was so bad I went to the concession stand mid movie (which is something I never do). I was letting people cut me in line, making phone calls. Anything to avoid going back in there. They did EVERYTHING wrong with this movie. The Creeper is dead.
jeepers creepers series sadly will be known as "the series that deserved better" i have not watched it yet, but usually we have the same opinions so...i already have low expectation
1 & 2 were so good because the creepers motives were pure evil. The thrill of Fear drove it. Nothing else. And it was suspenseful it built up to showing him and even when you saw him it wasn't well lit. It gave you room to imagine and guess. When he stalked people it was subtle, it was nerve wrecking at times. You constantly asked yourself "were is he?", "was that noise him?" In 3 and 4 the intrigue and suspense is GONE.
The sense of him doin this just to survive and also it’s like he’s been human before and is sentient and knows our traditions and emotions and is evil with it .. I miss that vibe
1 was the best for suspense and buildup and also it was fresh. A new monster we haven't seen before. 2 was also very good. But 3 was rushed with only ⅓ the budget of 2 with inflation it's not enough to do good creature effects.
Personally, for me part 1 works so well because its a suspense monster movie I truthfully don't think either 2 or 3 are that good 2 is passable and 3 is just bad and the reason I feel that way is because unlike part 1 the other 2 are just slasher flicks however with that said I can enjoy 2 and 3 as just slasher films even the 3rd I can enjoy for being a lower budget B movie feeling slasher. This one I have heard doesn't even work as a slasher or even a B movie type slasher so I have very low expectations for this film anyway in terms of budget and such a lot of times it comes down to the filmmaker certain directors can take low budgets and work with it and make something that works while other directors cant for me what they should have done is just ignore the other 2 sequels and do a direct sequel to part 1 that brings back the suspense feel of that original.
Yes they should. Silva directed all 3 and 1&2 are awesome but 3 was rushed and low budget. Silva worked hard to get the money to do 3 to finish the trilogy so we're lucky to even get that. But this 4 is the worst. Lousy directing. The first hour was just fillers.
I agree with you on the hobbit films Jason, it made sense that those films used green screen because them films took place in fictional, fantastical places that we've never seen before but this jeepers creepers film has no excuse for the green screen.
There was a nod to the 3rd movie too where we see a cap with the skull & wings logo on it which was worn by the team of Creeper hunters. I guess I have to be one of "those" who actually liked the movie. I watched it twice & will get the DVD/Blu-ray. Sorry you both traveled so far just to have a bad experience, but I can't agree that it shouldn't have been shown in theaters. I always want my first viewing of a movie I'm interested in to be on the big screen, no matter how good or bad it might be.
Exactly. I try see in cinema to support films I like so it gets a sequel. Creepers is one of them. It wasn't showing in my area so I still support them via rental. Hopefully it'll get another sequel with more budget and better story and directing. This is still worth a watch IMO.
I think horror is strong as ever, but it's mostly psychological horror that gets acclaim. Trashy and slasher stuff is back to "college rock" quality though.

The Creeper Origins Chapter 2 In horror the Spaniards raised their muskets to the priest and fired to no avail the priest swooped down snatching up their leader ripping him into covering his soldiers in blood. As they fled to their ship the priest picked them off one by one like a hawk in a field full of mice. Only a few managed to escape with the priest following from above in the cover of a blood moon. The priest's followers gathered around the pit to find that it was void with no bottom. Lying on the floor was the priest's dagger made from carved bone and a spear head for the blade. The remaining Aztec tripe dressed up as birds with elaborate masks and feathers to welcome their protector upon arrival. The tribe sacrificed many captives in the temple for their new God. On the 23rd night the priest descends to the temple entrance to find that it was lined with body parts attached with corn husk and he liked what he saw. His followers while looking through the mask noticed that the priest did not look himself anymore with fingernails sharp as talons, grey scaly skin, and the only thing left from the priest was a patch of his long grey hair. The priest flexed his wings and flys into the pit...... To be continued for the Creeper fans.

I like that you mention being hyper critical, i thought the same. Viewing this I didn’t want to trash something someone put work into, but damn did this movie waste my time. Not worth the rewatch, now worth the original $15. While watching the movie I was angry and sad, exactly as you say. Defeated
This is one of the worst film I've seen from a successful horror franchise ever. I was in shock with how atrocious the acting, directing, effects, and story was. The story goes in some baffling directions, it's like the writers had never seen a creeper film in their lives. I literally wanted the Creeper to reach through the screen and rip my eyes out to keep me from watching this eye sore. The green screen is so horribly distracting and just takes you out of it. AND THE KILLS!!! The kills are even worse. How can you mess that up?! Since when does the Creeper use a bear trap? In a house?! Please just put this franchise out of its misery. No competent director will touch this project with a 100 ft pole.

Without even having seen your review yet, my answer would be YES! One of the worst in 2022. The movie is actually even playing the second week here in Germany. 🙈 A Studio is a controlled environment, the woods may not because of weather and stuff. But this movie was atrocious just from the green screen looks all over the place. Besides all the other the negative stuff. And of course real woods or any real location for that matter when it comes to JCR would have been a big step up.
Stopped watching your review before you got into spoilers, as I still kinda want to see this- just for entirely different reasons now. When it comes to “3,” my opinion about it stems from the fact that I first saw it when it was randomly airing on the Syfy network. Like, I had been hearing rumors of a third movie for years, knew they were finally making one, and all of a sudden, it was on a cable network without any warning. So already, I had little respect for it. I kinda felt the same way about how this film was treated, but the trailer made it at least look interesting. Another crime of the third film was that the story was boring as fuck and I just didn’t care about any of it. This new one at least looks like it has a better story than the previous one, so.. while I won’t count on it being anything resembling good, I’ll at least hold out hope for that, haha.
I think the opening true crime reaeanctment woudlve worked if it made it clear right away that it was that, more of a documentary feel. Since that part is actually based on a true story where an old couple saw soemone disposing a body while driving. They should've leaned into it being supernatural in the true crime but tho, or get rid of so many ppl knowing about the creeper later on and focus on ppl thinking it was just a killer Atleast that's what i think lol

Look, the green screen. THE EVER LOVING GREEN SCREEN!!!!!! I was hoping the green screen usage was either gonna be limited based on the first appearance because it looked horrible and completely noticeable or would have gotten better. Neither happened and by 45 minutes in I kept saying out loud now bad the green screen was. That was my biggest complant.
They filmed it near my house there’s loads of dead an empty back roads around this area they could’ve made a really good horror film imagine being on a back Road being unable to turn left and right with the creeper at the back have you and you’re trying to get away

I saw this DISASTER last weekend on a special streaming site at a friend's house. I feel sorry for the folks that payed 💰 to see this in the theaters. This is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST in the entire series. It makes the third film look like "The Godfather" at least the creeper in the first second and even the third was TERRIFYING. This Creeper looked anorexic with kinda looking like Scottie Pippen. This Creeper was not scary in the least. What a damn waste in a series that had great potential-Salva's name has forever doomed this series.
How do the bean counters in Hollywood allow this kind of movie to be made and released? Why this didn't go straight to DVD release I don't understand. By comparison.... One and Two are Epic by elavation..color pallet...presentation...exposition...script...WOW. And I thought "Cats" was bad...Morbius...Thor LAT..... looks like Avatar by comparison. The creeper and his costume/makeup was serious downgrade from the first one and I was highly disappointed. That was the second thing on my list that I hated.
He actually saw the trailer and said: "Oh, it'll be fine..." I didn't see the trailer, but I saw the movie, and say it's not possible to get a "oh it'll be fine..." trailer from this celluloid poop!
Thankfully I watched it bootleg online so I couldn't see the extent of how bad everything looked. The story/writing was so awful its painful. The creeper is such fertile ground I just can't understand how they can't get an interesting story together smh. Could've gone the prey route and made the creeper in literally any time period. Being it's every 23 years you do get messed up in that regard. Going back in time alleviates that. Idk anything would be better than what we're getting.

This movie pissed me off simply by having the audacity to axe out the original 3 movies (in particular 1 and 2). Like we're expected to believe that those films were cheap imitations and recreations that "got it all wrong" and *this* is the true, real thing. It's a pile of shit in the presence of gold, silver, and bronze insisting that we ignore the others and pay attention to it. It's an actual joke.

The Creeper Origins Around the 14th century in an Aztec village named Tenochtitlan there was a temple with a high priest and his loyal followers. Life for the Aztecs was peaceful until one day the Spaniards came in like a flood taking control and killing those who opposed. The high priest saw this and rushed all his followers into the temple where he made them put on masks that looked like birds and rub a cream on their skin that had a unique scent to it. He rushes over to a small, shallow, round pit that had three big vases on it's edge he breaks them to fill the pit with blood. He then derobes with knife in hand saying an incantation he plunges it into his chest falling into the pit of blood. As his body disappears in the thick red goo the Spaniards break down the door to the temple in that same instance the ground started to shake everyone became unbalanced and all of a sudden it stopped there was stillness....then a low growl coming from the pit a winged figure shot out of it and it was the priest but he was flying. As he hovered in the temple the Spaniards were terrified but the followers knew what to do they started crowing like birds. The priest started to smell the air with big gulps he looks at the invaders and pays no mind to the "birds" and smiles with a sharp teeth grin. To be continued for all my Creeper friends.

The fact that Jeepers Creepers Reborn is produced by 13 Producers and directed by a guy who made Iron Sky 2: The Coming Race which was one of the worst movies I've seen in 2019, was a BIG warning sign to me that this movie will suck Ass. And I was right.

I like that you mention being hyper critical, i thought the same. Viewing this I didn’t want to trash something someone put work into, but damn did this movie waste my time. Not worth the rewatch, now worth the original $15. While watching the movie I was angry and sad, exactly as you say. Defeated

This is one of the worst film I've seen from a successful horror franchise ever. I was in shock with how atrocious the acting, directing, effects, and story was. The story goes in some baffling directions, it's like the writers had never seen a creeper film in their lives. I literally wanted the Creeper to reach through the screen and rip my eyes out to keep me from watching this eye sore. The green screen is so horribly distracting and just takes you out of it.
AND THE KILLS!!! The kills are even worse. How can you mess that up?! Since when does the Creeper use a bear trap? In a house?! Please just put this franchise out of its misery. No competent director will touch this project with a 100 ft pole.

A Studio is a controlled environment, the woods may not because of weather and stuff. But this movie was atrocious just from the green screen looks all over the place. Besides all the other the negative stuff. And of course real woods or any real location for that matter when it comes to JCR would have been a big step up.
This is what we get with these directors having a How Dare You Question Me mentality on set.

Stopped watching your review before you got into spoilers, as I still kinda want to see this- just for entirely different reasons now. When it comes to “3,” my opinion about it stems from the fact that I first saw it when it was randomly airing on the Syfy network. Like, I had been hearing rumors of a third movie for years, knew they were finally making one, and all of a sudden, it was on a cable network without any warning. So already, I had little respect for it. I kinda felt the same way about how this film was treated, but the trailer made it at least look interesting. Another crime of the third film was that the story was boring as fuck and I just didn’t care about any of it. This new one at least looks like it has a better story than the previous one, so.. while I won’t count on it being anything resembling good, I’ll at least hold out hope for that, haha.

I think the opening true crime reaeanctment woudlve worked if it made it clear right away that it was that, more of a documentary feel. Since that part is actually based on a true story where an old couple saw soemone disposing a body while driving.
They should've leaned into it being supernatural in the true crime but tho, or get rid of so many ppl knowing about the creeper later on and focus on ppl thinking it was just a killer

Yeah I feel y'all's pain. I couldn't even finish this movie in one night. I got maybe an hour into it then had to stop. I finished it last night and it didn't even finish on okay terms. This was horrendously horrible.

Look, the green screen. THE EVER LOVING GREEN SCREEN!!!!!! I was hoping the green screen usage was either gonna be limited based on the first appearance because it looked horrible and completely noticeable or would have gotten better. Neither happened and by 45 minutes in I kept saying out loud now bad the green screen was. That was my biggest complant.

If you have to choose between Jeepers Creepers Reborn and watching grass grow, go with the grass. You'll get more bang for your buck.

They filmed it near my house there’s loads of dead an empty back roads around this area they could’ve made a really good horror film imagine being on a back Road being unable to turn left and right with the creeper at the back have you and you’re trying to get away

Don't feel bad for driving to see it. I waited too see it at home for free and really wanted my wifi money back lol. JC3 was kind of bad but at least the creep looked like a creeper they at least tried with P3 creeper.. New one was just terrible.
I saw this DISASTER last weekend on a special streaming site at a friend's house. I feel sorry for the folks that payed 💰 to see this in the theaters. This is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST in the entire series. It makes the third film look like "The Godfather" at least the creeper in the first second and even the third was TERRIFYING. This Creeper looked anorexic with kinda looking like Scottie Pippen. This Creeper was not scary in the least. What a damn waste in a series that had great potential-Salva's name has forever doomed this series.
A lot of this film plays out and feels so Halloween Resurrection and somehow resurrection is better

How do the bean counters in Hollywood allow this kind of movie to be made and released? Why this didn't go straight to DVD release I don't understand. By comparison.... One and Two are Epic by elavation..color pallet...presentation...exposition...script...WOW. And I thought "Cats" was bad...Morbius...Thor LAT..... looks like Avatar by comparison. This franchise is DOA...sadly. I understand that this not GWTW or War and Peace..but really. They should have given this money to ASPCA or Homeless victims.....a total waste of time and money and talent...I wonder how these actors were paid?? The creeper and his costume/makeup was serious downgrade from the first one and I was highly disappointed. That was the second thing on my list that I hated.
He actually saw the trailer and said: "Oh, it'll be fine..." I didn't see the trailer, but I saw the movie, and say it's not possible to get a "oh it'll be fine..." trailer from this celluloid poop!

Thankfully I watched it bootleg online so I couldn't see the extent of how bad everything looked. The story/writing was so awful its painful. The creeper is such fertile ground I just can't understand how they can't get an interesting story together smh. Could've gone the prey route and made the creeper in literally any time period. Being it's every 23 years you do get messed up in that regard. Going back in time alleviates that. Idk anything would be better than what we're getting.
And there it is, the premise for your found footage! "B-movie horror directors are being slaughtered in their homes with long bladed barbering scissors, and nothings being done to stop it- because they deserved it. Ranting Jason Part One: The Retribution. Pray he doesn't hate YOUR film.... 😁

With my preordered tickets from months ago ($50 worth), the drive/dinner before it, the snacks and drinks- I spent well over $150 to see this damn thing. Not to mention, I arrived with a broken leg from surgery weeks ago. They should’ve pulled the plug on this, and started from ground zero. We will never see a good Jeeps Creeps again

This movie pissed me off simply by having the audacity to axe out the original 3 movies (in particular 1 and 2). Like we're expected to believe that those films were cheap imitations and recreations that "got it all wrong" and *this* is the true, real thing.
It's a pile of shit in the presence of gold, silver, and bronze insisting that we ignore the others and pay attention to it. It's an actual joke.
Thank you for the honest review and for going to cinema to support this film. I tried to do the same but it wasn't showing in my area. I still support it with a rental but yeah you're right it's pretty disappointing. I think it's fair to say the franchise is done.

Script written by a 4 year old with crayon. directors first go, D student intern. Special effects done by a 15 year old in his parents basement. Actors paid 10$ an hour.

The Creeper Origins
Around the 14th century in an Aztec village named Tenochtitlan there was a temple with a high priest and his loyal followers. Life for the Aztecs was peaceful until one day the Spaniards came in like a flood taking control and killing those who opposed. The high priest saw this and rushed all his followers into the temple where he made them put on masks that looked like birds and rub a cream on their skin that had a unique scent to it. He rushes over to a small, shallow, round pit that had three big vases on it's edge he breaks them to fill the pit with blood. He then derobes with knife in hand saying an incantation he plunges it into his chest falling into the pit of blood. As his body disappears in the thick red goo the Spaniards break down the door to the temple in that same instance the ground started to shake everyone became unbalanced and all of a sudden it stopped there was stillness....then a low growl coming from the pit a winged figure shot out of it and it was the priest but he was flying. As he hovered in the temple the Spaniards were terrified but the followers knew what to do they started crowing like birds. The priest started to smell the air with big gulps he looks at the invaders and pays no mind to the "birds" and smiles with a sharp teeth grin. To be continued for all my Creeper friends.

There's two interviews on websites) knowing that's not where the character works and can be taken seriously

Its not a franchise I like - I rented the first one years ago and couldnt sit through it. However, this one? You can tell its gonna be shit from the stills, which isnt a good sign, lol. Too convoluted, as well - hard pass.
The fact that Jeepers Creepers Reborn is produced by 13 Producers and directed by a guy who made Iron Sky 2: The Coming Race which was one of the worst movies I've seen in 2019, was a BIG warning sign to me that this movie will suck Ass. And I was right.
