The lady's name pronounced graw née ya, I believe his daughter is married to entertainer Leslie Crowter, hope I spelled that properly. Also if you are still in Dublin, you are not too far away from the grave of Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy.

Ah bless him he was a lovely man how said his wife followed him by two years. A lovely little cemetery you would think they would leave enough space to tend the graves on all sides. But no matter they are together again RIP Eamon and Grainne.

A true gentleman. A kind and respectful demeanour sadly lacking in many of the television and social media stars of today. Always a great personality to watch. Sadly missed and died too young.

A beautiful grave that is totally in keeping with the type of man that Mr Eamonn Andrews, CBE only ever was, modest & unassuming & completely in contrast to the truly eminent broadcaster that he was in both a sporting & family entertainment context & over many decades too, on both radio & television & of course not forgetting his very own sporting prowess in becoming an Irish boxing champion at junior middleweight.......

Actually, Synge Street is pronounced "Sing" Street. Grainne is pronounced "Grawn-ya" (rhyme with yawn). Great video, interesting fella our Eamonn.

What a wonderful and major grave site to show everyone,
a tv icon, eamon andrews.. imagine todays tv presenters
standing beside the likes of eamon at the NTA,s
Alison hammond, holly, etc, would shrink to little gnomes
    in those professional presences..
well done sir, you have another sub....

I love Round the Horn, and in it Bill Pertwee has a character called Eamon Android, he would put on a terrible Irish accent and play him as a confused interviewer, completely crazy. Nice to see you were here. Who else’s grave did you visit here? 😉

One edition of "This is your life" stands out in my mind. Eamonn caught Richard Gordon (The author of "Doctor in The House" amongst other books). RG was less than happy about it and said: "Oh balls!" Poor old Eamonn didn't know where to look. However Hughie Green used even stronger language when he was 'caught' which had to be bleeped out. (Green was notoriously bad tempered) However, both men did actually go through with it after some persuasion, unlike Bobby Charlton who when Eamonn said "This is your life" to him, Charlton famously snapped back "No it isn't!" and promptly ran off!
