Exploring AlUla - SAUDI ARABIA's Hidden Gem (Hegra, Elephant Rock, Maraya)

In this video, we explore AlUla, an ancient city located in the northwestern region of Saudi Arabia. AlUla is home to stunning landscapes, rich history, and unique cultural experiences. Our first stop was Maraya, an architectural marvel, consisting of nearly 10,000 mirrors. This mirrored building is the largest of its kind in the world and reflects the stunning desert landscape, creating a breathtaking optical illusion. Next, we will take you to Elephant Rock, a natural wonder that resembles an elephant. This unique rock formation is a popular spot for visitors to take photos and enjoy the stunning views in one of the many sunken lounges. For those looking for an adventure, 4WD driving in AlUla's desert is a must-try. It was certainly a thrill for us driving over sand dunes while taking in the views of the stunning rock formations. After a short visit at the Harrat Viewpoint, our next stop was the Oasis Heritage Trail, where you will experience the traditional oasis lifestyle of the locals. This historic trail dates back over 2,000 years and features stunning palm groves and historic buildings. We also visited the old Mudbrick Village, a fascinating cultural experience that showcases the traditional architecture and way of life of the local people. No visit to AlUla is complete without exploring Hegra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Saudi Arabia's most significant archaeological treasures. You will see ancient tombs carved into the rocky terrain and learn about the Nabataean civilization that once inhabited the area. Finally, we visited the Old Town, which features beautifully preserved buildings and a walking street full of rustic shops, cafes and restaurants, set against a backdrop of the dramatic scenery. We can definitely recommend a visit to AlUla. It is a unique and unforgettable destination that should be on everyone’s bucket list. @a.asm1687 you shouldn’t visit Al-Ula. Muhammad (SAW) told us this is where the people of Thamud, the people of Saleh (AS) were destroyed. He said not to ever visit it and if you have to, to get where you want to go, lower your gaze. Subhanallah.

dont wish to go there my friend i am quoting "When Prophet Muhammad PBUH passed by this place while going for the Battle of Tabuk, he specially pointed this place (Al Ula or Maidan e Saleh) out to his companions as an ibrat. He ordered them to drink water only from the one well used by the camel of Hazrat Saleh A.S and forbade them to eat and drink anything from that area and pass through it rather quickly."

Hope you enjoyed the trip. I would recommend some activities for your next visit such as the Tantora Winter Festival, Hejaz Railway Museum, the Opera show at Maraya Concert Hall, a hot air balloon, and a helicopter ride. It will be unforgettable memories. 😍

Welcome to alula, just a quick advice, the days that rain you dont get worry to get stuck in the sands, because it gets hard and car wont get stuck. But for other folks that want to do it by their own without local help, beware of the sand dunes and stick to the sand routes that are already meant to cars. Stay safe guys 😊

Regarding the heads of the eagles that were on the graves in the past, the residents used to play with them and make them a target for archery. Unfortunately, they did not know the value of these relics. Their children used to practice archery and break them because it is a very small target and difficult to shoot down.
