Some details I noticed in my playthrough: - Ashley becomes more confident as the game progresses. At the beginning she's scared and nervous. When you have her unlock doors from the other side she's hesitant and unsure. By the end of the game she assures Leon that she's "a master of unlocking". At times she will also taunt enemies. - Ashley or Luis will cheer you on if they're with you at the shooting range. - Slight spoilers for this one: After Saddler takes Ashley, Leon's veins stay dark instead of going back to normal, despite the fact that he's no longer being controlled by Saddler. They're visible from that point on until the parasite is removed.
About the veins is because he was close to becoming a ganado. He was at a point of no return. Unless the plagas were removed. Both him and Ashley were lucky to had made it just in time to remove them. Ashley is Leon Sherry's she's probably going be a main character in another future installment. Tbh I'd play it. Imagine if she ends up being the one who rescues Leon lol
The fact that you can shoot the church bell to trigger it early is one of the coolest details I've ever seen in a game. I've put thousands of hours into RE4 over the years and I remember wishing you could do that when I was a kid.
Other details. - You can shoot bombs and Molotov Cocktail while enemies holding, they'll go off and kill enemies. - Enemies throwing axes will hind behind those with shields. Shield holders would crouch to dodge axes from behind. - Enemies will hurt and kill each other when making aoe attack, such as claws and catapult. - While Ashley being taken away, you must be careful not shooting her. She will die from friendly fire.
It happened in my playthrough. In the waste disposal part where Ashley needs to stay in the steerer, she was abducted by a ganado so I tried to shoot that guy. I accidentally shoot her and I got a Mission Failed message.
Another cool detail is that when The El Gigante tries to catch you but you dodge and he doesn't get you, he looks at his hand and gets a little confused because he's probably just not used to people dodging his attacks
4:55 LOVE the new handcannon reload animation. The final pose he does is similar to the original Chicago Typewriter reload animation Leon had in the original RE4.
I’m playing on Pro mode rn and I just got back to the farm section with all the animals with Ashley. I threw a flash to get some distance but all the animals freaked out and trampled me and Ashley 😭
Bro on my first run when I got back to the farm with Ashley I swear the animals damaged me more than the ganados, they were hit stun locking me, looked like it was on purpose lol right after I took care of the ganados I killed all of the animals too 💀
Another detail. Wearing sunglasses on either Leon or Ashley will reduce the self inflicted effect of flashbangs. Leon will no longer be briefly staggered and Ashley will be entirely unaffected. This however does not work for Leon's face guard or gas mask, only the ones that say "Sunglasses"

Stop axes midair by shooting them is there since the original. But a detail on the remake very little noticed, because is extremely hard to happen, is that two axes thrown by different enemies can collide midair and fall on the ground if they're at the correct angle.
Some of the details are carried over from the Original. #1 - You were always allowed to shoot projectiles from midair. Axes, Dynamite and Arrows were the usual items. You cannot (however) deflect bullets. #5 - Chickens laid eggs in the Original as well. If you wait long enough and not disturb them when they roam, the would sit in position and lay an egg. The kinds of Eggs are random (white, Brown and Gold). #6 - The Pendant also gets dirty and loses value if dropped in the "Well" of filth. You would think that Leon could just wash the thing... #9 - Especially the Tommy gun Reload. It was a little less flamboyant in the Original. #12 - The death Animation was more pronounced in the Original, where you can see the Del Lago leaping out of the water to devour Leon and going back in. #13 - You could sit on Saddler's throne, but this was on the island, and not in Salazar's Castle. Also, as a funny nod, chickens are roaming around you...making you king of the chickens. #15 - Enemies may or may not be disarmed in the original (Usually not) #16 - In the Original, Leon also gets back pain when catching Ashley in the Knight's Armor. In fact, none of the Ganados can lift her. If they make the attempt, they would just fall over as soon as they lift her.
In the remake, Just don’t leave Ashley too far behind (like when Leon has to push open a pair of double doors into another area) or else it will be in instant game over when Ashley gets picked up regardless of the armor. Learned the hard way sadly
Faithful recreation of an old classic that still has new and exiting changes put into it. You can see the how much thought and soul went into this. PC port is also great. Sitting here while my TLOU Part1 shaders try to load.... :)
In the castle, Ramon will discontinue his taunting when you shoot the speakers. Very reminiscent where in the original he got super pissed at Leon for doing so
Agreed. RE 2 Remake is not just fantastic as a remake but also as a stand alone game. It's one of my favorite games ever. RE 3 Remake was basically a dlc, or even extended demo. Not bad, just meh.

haven't tried the game yet but from what i've watched in other videos, if leon is doing his special reload animation in front of ashley, she will look at him differently. for me she's looking at leon like watching kids having fun. no idea about doing it in front of luis, maybe he too will react differently

In my latest playthrough, Ashley got attacked by a Comillo for the first time. After I saved her, she said a bonus line: "I've always been a 'dog person'..."
You can use the rocket launcher to skip the dynamite with luis You can also throw grenades/rocket launcher at the wrecking ball section to help ashley with the wall. You can't break it but it will help
Cap on really put a bunch of thought into RE4R. The amount of details and Easter eggs it’s lived up to the hype and garnered another 10/10 can’t wait for the Ada Wong DLC later this year.
07:00 - isn't it Ramon's throne now? It is in his castle in the remake and we see him sit there before Leon is thrown into the large hole to the underground prison. Though this throne was in the island in the original game and I believe it could have been seen in cutscene where Saddler orders Krauser to get Leon and Ashley.
i think shooting the lake in the original was more scary than in here. mainly because it was more sudden. here you kinda see a change in perspective. in the original i think u dont even get to see the change so it snaps back with so much speed you totally fall back in horror. at least at first when u try. i remember discovering it after a second playthrough. we screamed at that part haha.
Yes... they killed the horror. The in old RE4, there is also a slight delay between each scene. Sometime, it take 2-3 bullets. Sometime, 4 or 5 before the monster jumps at you.

Something I learned from a different video, when an enemy charges at you for a grab, just crouch and the animation doesnt happen. You will safe some Knife Durability doing this.
one thing ive realised fighting the first giant (Pre-Ashley save) was that when he is lifting those buildings you can throw a grenade and it'd destroy the house he was holding, cancelling the throw attack he planned
A cool detail is that sometimes when the chainsaw guy gets stunned he accidentally starts cutting himself with his own chainsaw, or at least it looked like he was.
Imagine Saddler having to quickly wear his cassock because he thinks some idiot rung the church bell four minutes earlier from the usual preaching hour or something
#2 is cool but sam fisher did it years ago first in conviction and #5 chickens have lain eggs since resident evil 5 (if they appear) it was an easy way to get free health just keep waiting

You can only do that on NG+ i believe so if you’re trying to speed run or skip the village fight it has to be new game plus i believe

A little detail I notice when using a Rifle, after a couple of shots when when you stop aiming, Leon will rub his shoulder due to kickback of the gun

Number 1,4,6,9,12,13,15, and 16 already been done in the 2005 ORIGINAL version and its still amazing details

If I recall correctly in the original enemies had trouble carrying Ashley in the knight armor, I wonder if is the same thing in the remake.

One thing I thought was cool was if you shotgun is out of ammunition the slide is open while on your back. I noticed this with the riot gun.
