An interesting fact about this album is that it was inspired heavily by Edie Sedgwick, one of Andy Warhol’s earliest muses. There’s so many references to her within the album, i.e. she was named ‘Girl of the Year’ by Vogue in 1965 and she was the seventh child from an affluent family, coinciding with the band’s seventh album. She was extremely troubled and passed at a young age but this album is such a bittersweet homage to her.
-So glad you got to hear that awesome transition from Dark Spring to Pay No Mind. -I’m a wil sad panda that Pay No Mind is ur least fave, but I’ll make it. Lol -Yes, that Eiffel Tower lyric is amazing. Most of her lyrics are more like a deeply personal poem to me. -Definitely their shoegaze-iest album! -Once Twice Melody is an astonishing and diverse piece of work divided into four parts (if you don’t wanna listen all at once bcuz the runtime is a bit intimidating). Would probably get in my car and crash it if you reacted to that album. 😅 🎃🧸
