I’ve had this same watch in my cart for a year. It’s so beautiful and intriguing, but I was one of the people who has tried to contact them more than once with no response to my questions. I still may take a chance if it drops down below $100 like it did last year! Great review Harvind!
Thanks as always, Dan! If you like the looks and can get it for below $100, it's an absolute no-brainer. Did you try dropping them a message on IG? They're usually responsive on the chat there: @merkur_aliexpress_official
5:21 yes that's the design flaw I knew would happen. Thanks for being the first TH-camr to show it. They should make the circle on the hand a rectangle the same shape as the date window and move it down. So you can see through the hand just as the hour jumps. That would be perfect.
I always enjoy the unique watches you bring to your channel. Another great review. You got me interested in a different complication now. By the way, great voice.
You would actually want the time to jump just before so you can see the actual time when the hand hits 60. You have a great voice and such an appealing accent, where are you from?
The salmon dial looks gorgeous too! You're right, at this price I'm just happy with the gorgeous dial and unique complication. It's not going to be my daily anyway, so accuracy is secondary for me.
It’s a stunning watch, but there are just too many variables that keeps me from buying it and their other watches including their Merkur Line. Great review as always.
They seem to be out of stock at the moment. Hope they restock before the 11.11 sale. I state listing prices without taxes in my videos, since those vary for each country and I can’t include them all.
@@LajosKormos. Yup! I live in Portugal. Merkur sent this watch to me for the review, so I didn't pay for it. Check out the prices during the upcoming AliExpress 11.11 sale. With the promo prices and platform discount codes, I'm sure it'll drop to €120 taxed + delivered or somewhere close to that.
7:10 I'm not sure whether "dependable" and "Seagull movement" belong together in one sentence. I've seen one too many broken ST16 (in the Pagani DD) and ST19 (in the Phylida Moonwatch) posts on Reddit to think of Seagull as a reliable movement manufacturer. I do like this watch, it's much prettier in this silvery white color than in the salmon variant. One thing I don't like is the raised bit where the brand sits. I find it a bit of an eyesore, IMO. I'll be back here in November 2024 to see if your watch is still alive, and then consider one for 11.11.24 :)
Fair enough. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw with these movements. FWIW, Seagull is definitely more reliable than the Chinese Standard Movement that comes on their other models. Most watches last less than 6 months in my collection, so if this is still with me in November 2024, that would be an absolute miracle. 🤣
The salmon dial is a beauty, but I find myself getting bored with coloured dials after the initial excitement. White dials usually last longer in my collection.
If you’ve owned a watch with the ST17 movement, how has it held up?

They cancelled my 11.11 order after trying to offer an alternative strap, they're a bit sketch
Nice review Harvind. Cool looking piece in that colour too :)
Thanks, John! I was debating between this or the salmon dial, but I can never resist a good-looking white dial.

Wow, thank you so much for that! I'm glad this video got you interested in a new complication. 😆
Thanks for the review. You should be getting more subs with the well-crafted videos, awesome shot compositions and clear explanations
Thanks so much! Appreciate the kind words. 🙏🏽

That makes sense! Wow, thank you. I’m Malaysian, but I’m based in Portugal now.
Beautiful watch and great review, thank you.
Thank you!
God I adore the Dial on this the printing on the dial the many facets the way the blue of the hands pops against the white its just beautiful.
Completely agree! It looks even more stunning in the flesh.
they also make a great salmon TOP HILL SERIES manual wind
Link to where that blue strap can be purchased?
It’s a cowhide blue leather by Sinn, I got it with my Sinn 556i. They sell it separately on their website, or check WatchBuys if you’re in the US
I have the salmon dial and love how it looks. Only issue is movement as it is not too accurate. Then again, can’t ask much for that price point.

I really liked mine
I can safely assume we're both Merkur fanboys by now 🤣
Is that an 18mm or 20mm strap?
20mm
It’s a stunning watch, but there are just too many variables that keeps me from buying it and their other watches including their Merkur Line. Great review as always.
Thanks for watching as always! Completely understand your choice. Lucky for us, there are so many other great affordable watches to choose from.
I would love and buy this watch if the ring on the minute hand showed the window behind it. But no, so I'll wait for the V2.
That would make it perfect! No news about a v2 yet, let’s hope they have one in the works.
Excellent watch but 38.3mm way too small for my wrist.
as of now they are NOT avail with this normal/nice case. and when was it 129USD taxed and delivered to Portugal?

A polished bezel would be grate
That would definitely level up the look
Shame the hour number is so small and doesn't flip completely on some models leaving the hours not completely on the hour you are in 😏
Don't know if you found a fix for that but I heard it happens when the power reserve is low
the salmon version is better

Agreed, waiting on mine to be delivered.
