I’m certainly not the biggest Adele fan but her talent is undeniable. An absolute powerhouse vocalist and pretty good writer. Perhaps my favourite YT clip is the night she was ‘discovered’ and was invited at the last minute onto Jools Holland’s ‘Later’ as a young 17 year old who nobody had ever heard of because it’s such a raw and authentic performance. She sings from direct experience, and the relationship she's singing about is not the most recent one (the marriage). It's the one she had in her youth, the one she still bears the scars for - and like many people who had that heartbreak very young it takes a lot of work to remove that emotional baggage. She uses her incredible personal strength and amazing songwriting abilities to exorcise her demons over and over again, and we get to hear her journey start to finish.
