    Fantastic explanation but you didn't mention what low lymphocytes mean - that's what I was hoping to learn about!

  • @dlg5485
    @dlg5485 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a relatively low WBC (Total 3.5, Neutrophils 45.1%, Immature Granulocytes 0.3%, Lymphocytes 40.6%, Monocytes 7.7%, Eosinophils 5.7%, Basophils 0.6%). I have a smear test scheduled as a follow up, but it's just out of an abundance of caution. I am pretty fit with no chronic conditions and I think a healthy lifestyle naturally suppresses WBC because they aren't needed that much. There is some recent research that backs this up.

    • @crf4328
      @crf4328 ปีที่แล้ว

      So how did you make out?

    • @dlg5485
      @dlg5485 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crf4328 I decided to cancel the smear test because I realized there's really no cause for concern. I'm in excellent health and the low WBC simply reflects that I am not fighting any infections nor dealing with chronic inflammation. I'm just going to wait and see how it looks next year and go from there.

    Dr. Walsh, I really enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. So thank you for making them, but I have a comment on Eosinophils. I have eosinophils elevated ( from 8 to 13 %) in the last 2 years. And I would after doing my research suggest that it is due to autoimmune condition after a very stressful period that brought me to completely disturbed hormonal panels (due to chrnic stress on the hypothalamus) and increased level of inflamation all over my body. Do you have any comment on the elevated eosinophills in autoimune patients. I have slightly elevated lymphocytes and slightly low neutrophils. Thank you

    • @515051506969
      @515051506969 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Tricia Stacy yes so I was taking a supplement called berberine every day for a long time which helps lower your glucose and insulin which helps reverse insulin recestin which is a good thing well in the process it takes away alot of inflammation in the body which also will lower your white blood cell count at first I was a little worried but after extensive research it's actually a good thing to have a slightly lower white blood cell count just on the lower end it just means your really healthy as long as all others are in range , so to test this theory I quite taking the berberine and white blood cell count went back up to 4.3 so if your sitting at 3.3 and all others are in range I would say that's a good thing
