I saw a comment on IG or on the Fred Again Mashup video from the person that made Ren the Sick Boi neon light. Ren said he's going to try to offer them on his website as part of the Sick Boi Merch for the people that want to buy one. ❤❤

I love that you are seriously talking about the strange emotions involved in illness.
I spent ages 15-18 feeling like I'd rather have terminal cancer than have my symptoms "be normal for a certain percentage of the population" and thus get no treatment for them whatsoever. Luckily, that time, there actually was something all the doctors were missing, and it got fixed when I was 18.
I spent even longer with back pain, and whenever I brought it up, doctors said I have scoliosis, but "not big enough to cause pain." That was the end of the conversation. But then why was I in pain? Nobody cared, until I was almost 40, when I was referred to a rheumatologist, who immediately said I have a "textbook case of fibromyalgia". Weirdest whirlwind of emotions ever. I grieved for myself and the person I thought I was. I grieved for the idea that I could do anything anyone else could, as good if not better than them. But at the same time, I felt a sense of relief that I didn't have to try so hard to be perfect anymore. I could relax and just be, even though I was in pain. I could stop pushing myself so hard that I spent days in bed crying, and instead pace myself. My pain having a name and a way of managing symptoms has been a true rebirth.
Sure, I still have pain almost every day. But once it had a name, I learned to dance with it.
And these are things nobody talks about. Which is why we love and, more importantly, respect Ren.
I love that he ended this one with Hold On. I play it every day, when I need some comfort/ motivation. I love it when he 'flips the script' and says, 'If so...'. 'I'll be back' means a lot, too. He's coming back. I want to come back, too. That song makes me feel like I can, right now. I don't have to wait. Live it now, in whatever way you can.

Actually in his Lyme101 blog in 2016 before stem cells, he has a gut wrenching post of his fear of treatment because of the let down. The distance between hope and hopeless. He says almost the same that you did. If it was terminal, he could just make peace with it. But he always had just a little bit of hope. When he says 8 year nightmare, he means it.
I love Ren all that he went through is so very sad. Protect Ren who is a great young man.
When you are struggling with your symptoms, doctors not helping, you start doubting yourself and everything and you try the craziest things to get some answers.
Definitely the part about "I get in front, you get behind" in Uninvited has to be about Dr. Octogenarian.
Thanks Zack - this tune sits pretty high in my Ren playlist as well. Hard to image how he found the inner strength to keep trying for so long, I'm not sure I have that kind of fortitude but I guess you don't really know until you're challenged.

I'm just wanting him to react to all of those songs, but everyone seems to think they are off limits because they're not on Ren's actual channel....If it's possible to react to a song on bandcamp, then I'm all for going that route! 😊 Those songs need way more love!!
