Edit: I don't think its your judgement that is clouded about the song. Its not my favorite either, but i think some people set unrealistic expectations and hype around it that could never have been met.

Great reaction and observations. It seems to me that the harshest critics are some long-time Blinks, and that all the new listeners to Blackpink are gaga in love with it. Same with HYLT, the harshest critics seemed to be some long-time Blinks. Same with Lisa's LaLisa, the most disappointed listeners were some long-time Blinks. Just so obvious that expectations of SOME Blinks is just so sky-high that they are just begging to be disappointed. Yet, here we are, success after success and the fanbase just keeps growing. To that loud but small minority of Blinks that is continually disappointed by new releases, relax, don't expect that same endorphin high that you had the first time you heard Boombayah or DDDD or KTL. Appreciate every moment of new music, because it could all end if they don't re-up for a 5 year contract term.
Fans have every right to be disappointed, and it's clearly not just a "small minority" that feels this way. Listeners don't have to appreciate new music just because the group could disband at any time. Appreciate songs because of their quality, not because of the celebrities performing it. YG and BP are the ones who should be immensely appreciative of the amount of support the song did receive, being as lackluster as it is.
@@ssc6386 Nobody's forcing anyone to like it. It is a problem though that many of those who don't like it (1) pretend that they speak for a majority, (2) pretend like their entirely subjective negative feelings about it are somehow based on anything objective, and (3) pretend like nobody can legitimately and validly like it and therefore only hype it up because of who the group is.
Another problem is that while there are genuine blinks who are, for whatever reason, "disappointed" or (weirdly) claim that all of BP's songs "sound the same", most of the negativity really does come from fans of rival groups who just jump on any negative bandwagon they can. People who aren't particularly interested in Kpop in the first place, just move on if they give it a listen and don't like it. They have no motivation or interest in going all over social media trying to argue and persuade people that it's a "bad song". That kind of active negativity almost always comes from people who are competing against Blackpink.
If you feel like it's "lackluster" that's totally fine. Just don't pretend like that's anything but your own subjective feelings about it.

The PUBG collaboration the track they released was part of a 15 minute concert in anime with the girls but it is also to do with something bigger that comes next year and from what the gamers are saying it will change the gaming industry.
This PINK VENOM is not a comeback song it is missing the BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA for starters.
This was released as a homage to HIP HOP and as August was hip hop viola. There are nods to many other artists including Koreans that influenced Teddy who is BLACK LABEL alongside Danny (who discovered LISA he gets bonus points for that) That is why VMA's invited then to do a stage LISA was already nominated and I really don't care if others hate it or not. THAT WAS A PHENOMENAL STAGE

This could also be about the time Lisa got scammed by her former YG manager, losing over ₩1 Billion Korean Won ($817,661 USD). She’d trusted this manager since her 2016 debut and had asked him to invest in real estate for her but he ended up using the money for gambling. In June 2020, Lisa’s agency, YG Entertainment, reported he was fired and was obliged to reimburst all the money back. You do realize by design Blackpink is paying homage to American Rap n it's history. Because, it's a big reason that BP is huge worldwide, the rap n funky sounds of R&B. And who cares what the haters thinks or you for that matter. They've made songs addressing that attitude and they don't care...just look at the views. Hmm! Like BTS, anything that involves BP comes with a lot of hype. That includes criticism and hate. I love the song as a whole. While there’s a lot to like, there were still some that could have been better. So those parts that are lacking, people are just simply blowing out of proportion. This giving an impression that the song is a disappointment. Charts and streams tell you differently
