This 10-day journey throughout East Java was planned on a napkin at a local Warung (cafe) near the airport with a local who took off work to help us plan our route. On our first night, we slept on the floor at the house of some local photographers in Malang. 10 lads slept on mattresses on the floor in the living room. The video was fuelled by Nasi Gorengs and mango juice. Bucket showers and local homestay accommodation were the staple of the trip. Why am I writing this here? I want you all to know that travel IS about the ADVENTURE and NOT about the HOTEL. It doesn't have to be expensive and if you do have the opportunity to set off on your adventure, don't wait for a better time, a more practical moment or for your friend to be ready. Pack your bag and go and don't be afraid to go solo. The world will look after you. You will do more than alright. You will surprise yourself. You will be stronger than you knew possible and you will learn about yourself and this amazing world. Don't wait and don't hold back. A huge mention to my partner on this project and incredible videographer Nic Morley. We've worked together on many occasions and I've still not met another videographer who adventures and films in such an organic way. Adventure is first, the film is second. Highly talented and one of my best mates. Another huge mention to Polarpro for believing in us, our vision and our project. There aren't many companies that support the artists using their products and give them full creative control. Huge respect and gratitude.

Adventure first, film second. Such an overlooked concept. The hipster part of me gets annoyed that the masses has tainted the concept of travel and narrowed it down to Instagram likes and TH-cam subs. While I appreciate art my most memorable and best memories from travel happened when I put the camera down (Patagonia, Iceland, Norway, Jordan, etc...). You're the real deal Jackson!
