Ça serait magnifique si on comprenait quelque chose. Depuis des années peu importe la langue on comprend plis rien à ce qu'elle chante. Même en français. Sa prononciation est bouffée par la technique. Il faut des sous titres. Sa voix s'adapte aux mots et aux voyelles parce qu'elle ne peut plus suivre. Et donc on ne comprend plus rien.

This could be almost unexplainable. Because when she first came 6yo from Sicily to Belgium I have read she refused for a long time to chage her italian language and speak french. Probably she finally did this favor to her Belgian father but it is impressive that she is now excellent in a language she almost hated as a child ❤

Directly in my heart
I am totally fascinated by the album "Le Secret". I only bought it a month and a half ago and have been listening to it since then, almost every day 😅. And the more I listen to the songs on this album, the more fascinated I am. For me this album is really a masterpiece of artistic creativity. I read that it went straight to number 1 when it was released in France and Belgium in 2013. Rightly so! It's just a pitty that there is no corresponding live concert on DVD for this album. Since Lara Fabian is a master of live performance, I would have loved to see this.
Too right! The problem is in the language - mostly French - and translation is difficult. But this album is definitely a masterpiece of writing, orchestration, singing, everything.

You must mean the commercial reach of the album? The Anglo-American music market is the dominant music market in this world and will certainly remain so. Singers who sing in another language, even if they are many times more talented than others, remain less known and therefore less successful. That's why the music of Lara Fabian, especially this album, reaches me so late 😅, which actually makes me feel like I've missed something important.
In addition, as far as my information is correct, this album was released only in the French-speaking part of Europe. Would the release of this album have been successful in other countries with more English speaking songs? I don't know, because this album is very special and the songs nothing designed for an entertaining radio music taste a la Ava Max. "Le Secret" wins by listening to it many times, by being engaged with the music and if possible with the lyrics. It is music to enjoy, to think about, it is true art.

All good questions.I am bilingual, pretty much, but even so the deep "meaning" of the lyrics, like allusions in poetry, is often hard to guess, and need to be studied. Inside one can, if lucky, discern Lara' s philosophies for living, her "leitmotivs". Your comments indicate you are a true appreciator of music and art. Lara is a true artist, and a musician's musician.
Agreed truly her best album. It’s incredibly artistic and profoundly written and produced. She might have done a concert dvd but during the tour to promote Le Secret she suffered an inner ear hearing mishap from a sound check I believe and rest of that tour were cancelled in 2014. This album remains my personal favourite of hers to this day.

I am becoming trilingual as I am learning to speak Dutch. The Dutch too have many talented singers and musicians especially in the pop/rock/jazz genres.
I agree that making it into the American market is extremely difficult if you don't come from an English language country.
I am happy to say that currently Lara Fabian is enjoying more success in the USA without the benefit of FM Radio and television. Streaming music services are largely responsible for broadening the reach of singers like Lara.
Her Camouflage Tour a few years before the Covid-19 pandemic was SRO in every venue in which she performed. She is my muse. It was her song Wings off the Camouflage album which inspired me to take professional voice lessons.

At the end of the A-WA video here, Lara says to Manu Pitois: "this song is gorgeous, what a brilliant idea from Janey to had this melody re-adapted, pure genius, and your arrangement is a masterpiece"
Manu Pitois is her pianist and musical director/producer.
Janey is an accomplished singer-songwriter (as Lara) and she is a friend of Lara since she wrote a (beautiful) song for her called Bambina.
They decided to build an entire album together and this gave us this magnificent Le Secret album, 14 songs entirely co-written by both.
This I Am A-WA song composition is from Janey Clewer and she co-wrote the lyrics with Lara.
