    This is so creepy, there are almost no civilians to be seen - even in other communist states: like the Soviet Union, the Eastern Bloc countries, North Korea and communist Mongolia. There had always been larges crowds of civilians present in the gigantic military parade holidays of those countries. But not in Cambodia, under the Khmer Rouge

    When you don’t have enough military equipment to properly parade them you just space them far apart and make them drive by single file to make your parade longer 😂

    When did the DK start rolling green fatigues out to the non Eastern zone troops? I thought this occurred much later after the KR had been driven from the capital.

      Oh wow, I actually found another person who understands that the Eastern Zone was much different than Pol Pot's Zone.
      Anyways from what I've found Green and Black uniforms were common for Pro-Pol Pot sections of the army. Greyish Fatigues were more common in the Eastern Zone.

      He was never 'captive' ever...the KR went back to the jungle , where he was eventually found and interviewed in 97/98 but died right there soon after surrounded by his soldiers in the jungle. The KR were totally clueless as to how to run a piss up in a brewery never mind a country. Horrific! I have visited Phonm Phenn twice and both times its creeped me out

      Captured vehicles from the Lon Nol regime backed by the US. Also, the Khmer Rouge confiscated like 75% of all agricultural output to sell in exchange for foreign weapons and other stuff, but mostly weapons.

      @@DeVolksrepubliek It was a conflict between the Soviets and China after Cambodia was divided into three parts. King Sihanouk negotiated with China to help free the Khmers from Vietnam. China was already at odds with the Soviets. It is also in China's interests to support King Sihanouk.
