Awesome accomplishment. I remember searching ages for an HD5-IF, I ultimately got “lucky” and was able to buy a brand new old stock original complete with packaging (“lucky” in quotes because it was massively expensive). Since then I have used it and the S-550 exactly zero times. Need to get back into making music. Cheers
I never was a tech guy full time but i know, reverse engineering SCSI board like that is one of the most mentally and physically draining tasks ever... it takes a toll! Take care and have a nice vacation!
Congrats on 10k! What does this board do? Is it just adding a SCSI interface? I thought the 550njust came with that. Guess I'm wrong, and I'm lucky mine already has that 😂
Hey Johnny, finally remembered to email you about scsi but cant find your email address. Couldnt find contact links. (Maybe because im on a 10 year old ipad) 🤣 So, ive got an old eps16+ that i bought a scsi drive for in the early 90's - syquest 135. Every now and then the disk doesnt engage properly and get to running speed so im worried that one day, itll be all over. I can get a floppy emulator without any trouble, but how do i get my library of the scsi disk to a thumb drive? Help please. 🇦🇺🍻👍
@@SpikesStudio3 I'll have to research this a bit more as to the disk format for Ensoniq. Likely youcan move the image to a pc and back if you do it the right way - you might need to find a pc with a scsi IDE card that you can use to do the transfer - that could be tricky to find.

Bought one of the HD5-IF cards! Works great! I've been wanting one of these cards for decades! THANK YOU!
Nice one, Johnny. Congratulations.
Your potted histories are excellent and help keep vintage synths alive.
Thanks - More History stuff coming - a new one close to complete!
Hey, John. Congrats on the new Unit:187. I cannot wait to hear it.

Definitely get that sampler up and running - still some great libraries for the S-550
Subscribed! Thank you for your valuable information! I'm love synthesizers since I listen Vince Clarke in the 80s
Amazing! What a great service to s-550 users.
It's going to be great to see everyone get their S-550's more usable again.
You love your MOTM - you are a smart guy!
The MOTM is awesome - such a beast.
Congratulations and thank you for your great content. 👏👍😊

It took a bit of cross referencing for sure - finally got it after a few mistakes. Was a super fun project though. KiCad is awesome
Lovely..I want to buy one😊
Send me an email and I'll give you details!
yay, congrats!
Awesome! I have an s-550 that could use this.
Ok cool - contact me for more details - I'll have new boards ready in about 3 weeks.
maybe you could get the S50 scsi port work next 🤔

Hey - thanks! The S-550 actually didn't ship with that option, so your S-550 has the rare interface already installed which is awesome.
Great work Johnny. Love your work. 🍺🎛️👍
Thanks Spikes!
Actually bro, 🤔 Ive got a couple of questions i think you might be able to help me with, about eps16+ scsi. Can i email you somehow?
@@SpikesStudio3 sure thing - my email is under my contact links

Thanks! Yes - you are lucky - that's actually a very rare option you got with your S-550.
