That nurse called the police to create a diversion and take the attention off of a hospital staff that obviously didn't care about that woman or her baby. @@ANTAGONIST1776 Well Ive read a few of your comments and am a concerned about them.
When we lost our baby, I was not alone. My husband took me to the doctor and after several ultrasounds, he comfirmed our baby had passed away. It was one of the most devastating days of our lives! My doctor who was a male, Christian, prolife doctor, said I should get a DnC. I freaked out telling him I couldnt do that because it was an abortion. (I was young) He assured me it was not and did another ultrasound and some other tests showing our baby, not moving, no heartbeat, and his position was that of having passed. So we went to hospital and had the procedure. The reason my doctor strongly recommended this, was because he did not know how long baby had been dead inside me and did not want me to go septic and die. I didnt have to wait. I wasnt at the point of hemorraging bad. I had a great, loving and caring doctor. Family and friends. I didnt have to hurry back to a job because I was a SAHM for our other two toddlers. I was able to heal physically and our church community supported us in our grief.
Brittany Watts, Im guessing, because I havent read otherwise, was a single mom. When she started bleeding she went to her doctor and then a hospital. Staff there CONFIRMED her baby had died. She was left to wait hours on end for help.
When she went home, she was all alone.
Now I had a dear friend who lost her baby at about 15 weeks and she almost bled out at home. (No determination how things can go as each body is different.) Her husband took her to hospital where she recieved immediate care.
Brittany went home and then lost her baby. Millions of women have very similar experiences of losing pregnancies and they end up in the toilet because there is a lot going on with cramping and stuff coming out.
I have had horrible periods where I passed what looked like chunks of liver! No one talks about that in sex ed!
Brittany fished out what she thought was baby. I cannot imagine how horrified and in shock she was! No one can determine what they would do in situations. Shock is a wild thing to experience.
We also must keep in mind that women of colour get even worse treatment in heathcare than white women.
We can look at how Brittany "handled" her situation all day long and mercilessly judge her, or we can educate ourselves, think of the horror she endured and be angry at a health system that is horribly run.
What should have happened is this very new first time mom should have had an immediate DnC and been counciled through her grief.
I know its very challenging for men to understand what women endure, but try you must.
      Thanks for reading all this.

No, abortion laws need changed so they make sense, and so they are far less common. Almost 90% of abortions are done on perfectly healthy fetuses.
No one should be charged over a miscarriage. I'd assume most people aren't, but this happened so that the 'pro choice' crowd had a case to point at and say "yes see this is why we need abortion laws stricken from the books! It's healthcare!"
Except that it doesn't prove that. This was a case where the woman's body did it's job and removed the dead baby naturally. The law did not need to intervene. The fact it did means the laws should be charged so that miscarriage is not considered a legal offense. It does not however prove that abortions need to be called healthcare in all situations, or that they should be allowed in all situations!
Abortion can only be called healthcare IF the fetus cannot be removed naturally after the woman's body rejects it.
Again, Most abortions are NOT done for this reason! Almost 90% of abortions are done on perfectly viable children! The % of cases of non viable babies is far, far lower than the pro choice movement would have you believe!

If anti-abortion laws force people like this to opt out of hospitalization, then I guess pigs do fly because both things sound absolutely fucking Ludacris to even say. This has nothing to do with the laws on the book, it has to do with her inconsistency and carelessness in regard to her health. They charged her with abuse of a corpse, which I think that's more than fair. You don't leave when under serious medical care and expecting to give birth to a dead fetus, as distasteful as it may sound. I would think people wouldn't be THIS far gone to think this was a "law" issue, and not a "her" issue. The torture she had to endure was mostly due to her lack of being at the hospital.

Apparently you didn't listen to the video. She didn't get off on her miscarried child. The child was miscarried at 22 weeks. She didn't know what to do so the baby was found in the toilet. The nurse at her OB-GYN called the police on her and they charged her with an abuse of a corpse.
Abuse of a corpse isn't just sexually. 🤨 You can abuse a corpse by moving the body from one place to another.

A fetus at 22 wks is normally considered a viable prenancy and is past the point of voluntary termination in most states. For this "mother" to try to flush her infants body down the toilet... and then play the victim, is yet another example of a society that is sick.

You do understand that this was a miscarriage? She went to the hospital twice and was ignored. Was anyone there to help her? Imagine suffering labor alone and not knowing what to do. Where’s the Christian compassion in this? The was abuse in this incident and a miscarriage of justice.

@@rickmerritt128 Can you articulate the legal requirements of for miscarriage? What state in this country has such laws? The prosecution chose a little known and used law regarding abuse of a corpse. Do you believe that this woman was in the proper frame of mind to form criminal intent?

@@Pomisher don't know about the laws or states' laws. Little known or used? Yes, I believe ignorance of the law is not a defense. Did she break the law? I have not read the law. But it is probably fairly black and white on what it says. What was her state of mind? That is something you would have to ask her. Disposing in the dumpster does not seem appropriate.
