Thank God! Charges never should have been even considered.
I hate that she was forced to go through all this, but I hope that this case will help lead to federal laws protecting women in similar situations. It is angering that she was treated like a criminal.
Good!! she shouldn’t of been anywhere in a court for what happened to her at all! They’re all crazy! Praying for her healing!
Right. Disgusting that she was put through this Hell. I hope she can now get the space to properly mourn.
I'm glad the grand jury nullified these ludicrous charges! What a waste of time and resources, criminalizing something natural!
Nahh it's the fact that she didn't come forward or call for help and that is not ok.
@ANTAGONIST1776 "Doctors determined that her water had broken prematurely and that the fetus was not viable. Ms. Watts visited the hospital several times; on her first visit, she had to wait for eight hours so the hospital’s ethics board could determine the course of treatment, Ms. Timko said. Ms. Watts eventually passed the tissue at home and returned to the hospital." -New York Times
And after returning to the hospital: "A nurse at the hospital called the Warren City Police Department about the miscarriage and “the need to locate the fetus,”
She tried to get help but the people who are supposed help just called the cops on her instead
@@LimeVelvetLoveSeat yeah like I'm going to believe the lying New York Times, anyways she still wrong she should of called 911 from her home emergency services what I helped and she would have not gone through all that ordeal. That's the facts 👌🏾
@LadieKatie she tried too be she is. She needs professional help normal people don't do this.
@LadieKatie Poppycock. It's a dead hunk of tissue that came out when she was sitting on the toilet miscarrying. It's not a baby. She had already been to the hospital multiple times and they wouldn't help get the dead tissue from her body.
Why did the nurse call 911? What was the emergency? They sent her home more than once before. Why, later was it an "emergency?"
That nurse called the police to create a diversion and take the attention off of a hospital staff that obviously didn't care about that woman or her baby. If it was clear that she was going to miscarry, why wasn't she admitted to the hospital where "professionals" could care for her during such a life threatening ordeal?

@@LadyElizondoRight. The fact they didnt do a DnC post haste is sickening!!!
At 22 wks that is legally a dead infant. The ER nurse was correct.
@@derrel1259 No she wasn't. That nurse was a troublemaker, and very likely a racist one.
This case is an example of how state laws regarding abortion restrictions are massively flawed and incomplete regarding unique medical complications.
I’m SICKENED that this case even went to a grand jury.
She needs help over all
@@ANTAGONIST1776 Are you male or female? A father? Mother? Medical doctor? Just curious.
@@deirdremorris9234 I'm a male. How About you ? We all have responsibility. Don't have to be a medical doctor to understand what is wrong and what is right.
@@ANTAGONIST1776 Well Ive read a few of your comments and am a concerned about them.
When we lost our baby, I was not alone. My husband took me to the doctor and after several ultrasounds, he comfirmed our baby had passed away. It was one of the most devastating days of our lives! My doctor who was a male, Christian, prolife doctor, said I should get a DnC. I freaked out telling him I couldnt do that because it was an abortion. (I was young) He assured me it was not and did another ultrasound and some other tests showing our baby, not moving, no heartbeat, and his position was that of having passed. So we went to hospital and had the procedure. The reason my doctor strongly recommended this, was because he did not know how long baby had been dead inside me and did not want me to go septic and die. I didnt have to wait. I wasnt at the point of hemorraging bad. I had a great, loving and caring doctor. Family and friends. I didnt have to hurry back to a job because I was a SAHM for our other two toddlers. I was able to heal physically and our church community supported us in our grief.
Brittany Watts, Im guessing, because I havent read otherwise, was a single mom. When she started bleeding she went to her doctor and then a hospital. Staff there CONFIRMED her baby had died. She was left to wait hours on end for help.
When she went home, she was all alone.
Now I had a dear friend who lost her baby at about 15 weeks and she almost bled out at home. (No determination how things can go as each body is different.) Her husband took her to hospital where she recieved immediate care.
Brittany went home and then lost her baby. Millions of women have very similar experiences of losing pregnancies and they end up in the toilet because there is a lot going on with cramping and stuff coming out.
I have had horrible periods where I passed what looked like chunks of liver! No one talks about that in sex ed!
Brittany fished out what she thought was baby. I cannot imagine how horrified and in shock she was! No one can determine what they would do in situations. Shock is a wild thing to experience.
We also must keep in mind that women of colour get even worse treatment in heathcare than white women.
We can look at how Brittany "handled" her situation all day long and mercilessly judge her, or we can educate ourselves, think of the horror she endured and be angry at a health system that is horribly run.
What should have happened is this very new first time mom should have had an immediate DnC and been counciled through her grief.
I know its very challenging for men to understand what women endure, but try you must.
Thanks for reading all this.

@@deirdremorris9234 Oh ma'am, that was 16 years ago due to an accident; I got locked out of the house, had to climb in through a window, and fell. @@ANTAGONIST1776 The video says the nurse called 911 after she came to the hospital without the baby, and she had been told she would likely lose it. If she was expected to bring it with her they should have told her that. I brought mine to the hospital because I couldn't bear the thought of flushing it down a toilet even though it was very small, but I don't know _what_ this woman's baby looked like at 5 whole months and 2 weeks. There's a very good chance she couldn't bring herself to look at it or touch it, but that's _not_ abuse. That's crazy that they picked her up a couple of days later for that, too.
@@arhafrench5319 It is abuse if you just leave the baby in the toilet like she did. But see you did the RIGHT thing the responsible thing the the moral thing. She didn't. Should have NEVER charged her period! That poor woman couldn't even mourn her loss because that pathetic prosecutor!!
How long is long enough to mourn a baby that she tried to flush down a toilet before stuffing it in the trash?
@@timorthelame1 You're not a woman, are you? First off, SHE DID NOT put the fetus in the trash and you would know that if you actually cared enough to understand. A plumber came because the toilet clogged.. Second, THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of women have miscarriages IN THE TOILET because when it's happening we think we're going to have a bowel movement because that's how it feels, that urge to push. She went to the hospital 3 separate times, they told her the pregnancy was NOT VIABLE but they couldn't give her the DNC because of the way the laws were written, they literally called legal to have meetings about her case the 3rd time in the ER because they were trying to figure out what they could do for her.... She went home to have the miscarriage and you seem to think she should be charged???? Your profile name has me assuming you're a male and doesn't have much experience with miscarriages and how, what does, can happen.. @@timorthelame1 I am assuming you're a man. First, she did NOT throw away, it was in the toilet, a plumber came. She went to the ER 3 times and they told her it was not VIABLE but they didn't know what they could even do for her because of the limbo of taking our rights away and hog tying doctors. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of women miscarry in the toilet so this isn't some one off. I really think you need to educate yourself or just don't comment on the topic and I do not write that with disrespect.. You come off as having zero idea how the female body works in this situation. She didn't do anything wrong period. Mourning has no set ANYTHING so to ask that question is ignorant.
@@timorthelame1 Where do you draw the line at when a fetus has to be retrieved from a toilet and buried with a funeral? Do you think every woman that miscarries should stick their hand in the toilet and sort through all of the blood and tissue to find the “baby?”
What if the woman is only a few weeks and the “baby” is the size of a pea? Should we be criminally charged for failing to find said “baby” because it’s buried in massive blood clots? What if we don’t even know a “baby” came out when we are sitting on the toilet in severe pain assuming it’s intense period cramps not a miscarriage, because we didn’t even know we were pregnant, and we accidentally flush it down the toilet? Are we monsters for that?
Or maybe you’re one of those guys who believes that women are responsible for all miscarriages because we subconsciously wanted it to happen so therefor should be charged for something our bodies do that we have no control over. 😂
That is beyond ridiculous! The baby has already passed. For the love of God, this woman didn't know what to do. Thank God that the jury did not indict her. What a nightmare!
My youngest was born at 28 weeks. That 22 week old baby would have not survived without immediate care. And knowing there was no hope that the child was going to be born alive... I feel relieved for this woman.
(And I live in Ohio)
So do I. This was wrong charging her. 🔥 have no fury Ike a woman scorned. She should sue !! 😤⚖
"This woman didn't know what to do." Exactly. She was emotional, filled with pregnancy hormones and also having just lost the pregnancy she wanted, and likely also fearing what would happen to her legally over something she had no control over. I believe she reacted the way a lot of women would in that situation, and no one should be punished for it, but rather given support.
Glad the grand jury decided not to prosecute
Very good. The charges should have never been filed.
Oh thank God. Let her grieve in peace, prayers for her healing. These abortion laws need to be stricken from the books. She needed HEALTHCARE. They would have helped her if we protected women's right to receive health care.
Meh, miscarriages happen all the time for different reasons.
Though I'm tired of hearing all about this or that woman is pregnant or just had a child and I'm tired of hearing about how they're a single mother.
They've always got to work in one of those things.
Working with pregnant women is the worst.
They've hardly 3 weeks pregnant right?
Yeah, but they now can't do anything and they're all conveniently a
"high risk pregnancy"!
Though some still smoke...
Others just purely cannot shut up about being pregnant.
I don't care, you fuck you get pregnant it's not rocket science and furthermore you're not special.
Like my grandmother had 5 children and my mother had three STFU and welcome to the club.
Abortion is NOT healthy care PERIOD but you any many women think abortion is a pass for inconvenience a pass for no responsibility.
No, abortion laws need changed so they make sense, and so they are far less common. Almost 90% of abortions are done on perfectly healthy fetuses.
No one should be charged over a miscarriage. I'd assume most people aren't, but this happened so that the 'pro choice' crowd had a case to point at and say "yes see this is why we need abortion laws stricken from the books! It's healthcare!"
Except that it doesn't prove that. This was a case where the woman's body did it's job and removed the dead baby naturally. The law did not need to intervene. The fact it did means the laws should be charged so that miscarriage is not considered a legal offense. It does not however prove that abortions need to be called healthcare in all situations, or that they should be allowed in all situations!
Abortion can only be called healthcare IF the fetus cannot be removed naturally after the woman's body rejects it.
Again, Most abortions are NOT done for this reason! Almost 90% of abortions are done on perfectly viable children! The % of cases of non viable babies is far, far lower than the pro choice movement would have you believe!
@ANTAGONIST1776 she had a miscarriage. The baby was dead inside her body. This women could've died. She needed Healthcare to abort the baby. To say that she didn't need it is just cruel. Thank goodness she won't be going to jail
@@Atrail_Mckinley4786 so I was most definitely responding to the original comment about women who think abortion is heath care when in reality that's not the case at all. No one is saying she didn't need to seek heath services sheost definitely did and no she should not be prosecuted for having a miscarriage obviously people are not for that It's very clear. But but the way she went about getting help that day she by giving birth is sick she should of called 911 had an ambulance come to help and in no way would she of come through what she did that day. To normal people who are looking in on the outside it look like she was trying to mutilate the corpse of her baby I mean just imagine what that nurse saw she's part traumatized for life. If anti-abortion laws force people like this to opt out of hospitalization, then I guess pigs do fly because both things sound absolutely fucking Ludacris to even say. I mean you did the right thing by seeking help she didn't do nothing. She should of called for an ambulance 🚑
Duh! It focuses on one gender because men can't have babies.
Thank goodness, they didn’t do something draconian to that woman because she had a miscarriage. A third of all pregnancies in the miscarriage. a baby is not a baby until it’s born and viable and able to live on its own. I mean only thing the parents got to do is dress them cloths them clean them feed them, but they don’t have to breathe for it or circulate its blood or other things that we can’t do. As a woman, I know that sometimes you have periods with big clots and it just looks like a bunch of blood probably that’s what she thought the aborted fetus was.
Right?
Sometimes those clots look like large chunks of liver and a dang wonder how they pass though! Thus all the horrible cramping.
We passed through just like a babies head passes through. We open up and it comes through.

Dragging this poor woman through court like this in front of the nation over things that should only be discussed with family, friends, and her doctor is just cruel and inhumane. 😭
She needs to move out of that state.
Welcome to America
More like 19th century Ireland every day.
Unfortunate example of disfunction in a medical system where politics rules.
Wtf is wrong with this country?
Depending on juries to be our last line of defense against the laws many of these former Confederate states are re-enacting is in itself frightening, when you look at the fact that almost half the nation has lost its mind and are sitting on said juries. Be as it may though, if you find yourself on a jury of close-minded, self-indulgent people with personal grievances they're exacting onto the defendant, don't be afraid to be the lone hold-out. It's your duty.
A white woman would never have been put through all of this. I'm glad these ridiculous charges were finally dropped.
Ok racist.... the law is clear on this. Short version...don't flush your aborted fetus like it was just another taco bell turd.
Sue ohio!!
Why was she turned away in the first place by the hospital?
I would love review the evidence for myself to see if the jury screwed up. Even if she was sent home from the hospital, what she did was wrong and likely against the law. People have aborted their pregnancy for years illegally.
@@rickmerritt128 What law states specifically don’t flush a fetus, still born, down the toilet. She could have delivered on the toilet? What state of mind was she in? She had to go through labor alone she was still in a medical crisis afterwards. Miscarriage isn’t a choice. She may have had a dead fetus within her and her body was rejecting it. My ex-wife had a miscarriage at home over the toilet. I did recover the “corpse” from the toilet to deliver to the hospital if they needed to examine it. But I wasn’t the one who had the miscarriage. If we are a society that believes in innocent until proven guilty then that’s where it should left. The prosecution failed to make its case before a grand jury.
Abuse of corpse on a fetus?
They owe her for pain and suffering. In an already terrible time… Shane on them. The MOMENT they knew what happened it should have been dropped. They drug thus out for far too long and have increased medical risk of women who will not go to the hospital now after such a tragedy.
Just wants attention
who?
NAME THE NURSE!!!
She needs to sue the c... out of them.
Justice at last
I just heard this story on CBS this morning. What the actual puck is going on in Ohio ?

Did they invoke habeas corpus?
She should have called 911 after miscarriage thats what normal people do. She at least needs mental health treatment.
She went to the hospital after, did you not listen to the video? There is no laws or regulations on what women legally have to do after a miscarriage. Thousands of women have had miscarriages in toilets and flushed the remains. Do you know how many blood clots are passed in miscarriages? You expect women to sift through bloody toilet water after something that traumatic. You’re the one that needs mental health treatment.
@@titsmcghee8688 let's get something straight because clearly you've never USED your brain in your life 😂 you are comparing miscarriage to periods and your trying to acquaint short-term miscarriage to periods which is not the same thing at all. She did go to the hospital after but she should of called 911 instead and gotten the professionals to help you and to make the situation less awkward. Again normal people don't do this normal normal women don't do this. The nurse did the right thing she saw something wrong and spoke up. You need Jesus and so does she and she needs mental health treatment. Can you actually speak the truth. 🫵🏾
Charges dropped? You've got to be kidding me. Unbelievable.
Just pretend she's white
Because it was racism. Remember? That trumps innocence or guilt. Remember O. J.
Let me ask would people think the same thing if this woman had the baby and then just dumped it in the dumpster because she decided she didn't want it. I guess that would be ok because the woman has a right to abortion. 🤔 Just wondering!!!!
Why are you making such a fallacy hypothetical in the first place?
Let me ask: You think a baby is the same thing as a clump of cells? Same as a non-viable fetus that has no brain?
Lots of far right wingers are confused abut these things, i.e., facts.
Are people aware she threw it in the trash after trying to flush it?
It was because of her race. Remember?

How Lustful doe one have to be to get off on a Corpse! 🥶
Apparently you didn't listen to the video. She didn't get off on her miscarried child. The child was miscarried at 22 weeks. She didn't know what to do so the baby was found in the toilet. The nurse at her OB-GYN called the police on her and they charged her with an abuse of a corpse.
Abuse of a corpse isn't just sexually. 🤨 You can abuse a corpse by moving the body from one place to another.
Fkn disgusting. Who would do this to a fkn baby?
She miscarried.do you understand what a miscarriage is?
@@pennyhartleben6123No he does not. Absolutely and utterly clueless about life.
A fetus at 22 wks is normally considered a viable prenancy and is past the point of voluntary termination in most states. For this "mother" to try to flush her infants body down the toilet... and then play the victim, is yet another example of a society that is sick.
You do understand that this was a miscarriage? She went to the hospital twice and was ignored. Was anyone there to help her? Imagine suffering labor alone and not knowing what to do. Where’s the Christian compassion in this? The was abuse in this incident and a miscarriage of justice.
Because black believe it was due to her race is the only reason. Shame on those people. She clearly tried to destroy the evidence of the miscarriage.
@@rickmerritt128 Can you articulate the legal requirements of for miscarriage? What state in this country has such laws? The prosecution chose a little known and used law regarding abuse of a corpse. Do you believe that this woman was in the proper frame of mind to form criminal intent?
@@Pomisher don't know about the laws or states' laws. Little known or used? Yes, I believe ignorance of the law is not a defense. Did she break the law? I have not read the law. But it is probably fairly black and white on what it says. What was her state of mind? That is something you would have to ask her. Disposing in the dumpster does not seem appropriate.
It was dead long before the miscarriage. Inside of her, it was dead.
She should be awarded 10 million dollars for having to endure the idiotic indictment.
