Dip your hex bit socket in lapping compound before attempting to loosen a stuck cap screw; the fine compound will fill the voids and enable you to remove it. Works well for KTM's too!

When you go to cold start your sled if it's a liquid cooled wait for your sled to warm up and you can check that by putting your hand on the tunnel cooler if you feel it warm BRAP if you don't let er warm up you'll blow er up

To easily remove a stripped screw, you can use something like a Dremel tool and cut a deep groove all the way through the head of the screw so that you can fit in a flat head screw driver in The groove. Then spit it out like a normal flat ahead and put in your new screw that you bought off-line

When I had my old rev I found the best way to drain the chain case was to pull the plug and remove the cover to inspect the chain and tension. When that cover is off go ahead and clean the inside up good and remove the fine metal shavings. If you don't take that cover off your not gonna get all the shavings out if you just pull the plug. Hope it helps 3D

Love the videos man, really like that you don't just rush out and buy new stuff. I've never been able to afford new things but have learnt to fix things. So much respect for how much you know and diagnose issues.
As far as the hood goes you should speak with an auto body shop or something. My dad is auto tech and they have a really strong black goo. Kinda like JB weld, if you take your time you can do a pretty good job. Fixed a few sled panels on our sleds.

3DMachines, the handle bar warmers do not heat up when the sled is idle, they will only warm up when the sled is in motion, just in 2015 the when the rev xs chassis came out the handle bar warmers were able to warm up while idling. My cousin has a first gen rev and the handle bar warmers do not warm up until in motion. My dad has a 2016 ski doo 600 etec which have the idle handle bar warmers.

A little advice about stripped allens..... hammer a slightly bigger torx bit. Works everytime. The torx bit doesnt push out nearly as much material and bites really well. Also with hammering it in, it is also shocking the threads to a tight bolt.

  • @screamineagle88

Instead of going through all the work of putting a new grip on, then finding out that it doesn't work, then having to take it off and run the wires, why not take a multi-meter and check that you at least have voltage going to the plug for the grip while you have it off?
If you have voltage, then great, your problem was in the grip. If you don't, then you can be tracing down your problem while the grip is on it's way, and you can have the problem fixed by the time the new grip gets there.

Been watching your videos for a few years now. Keep it up! Quick tip, next time you strip an allen head, or any bolt head for that matter. Take a nut that's a little bigger then the head of the bolt and weld it to the stripped head. Hold the nut to the striped bolt with pliers and burn it in hot from the center of the nut. Walla, new head on the bolt, turn it right out with a wrench.

Dalton love the vids keep em coming. Couple things. I know for a fact that Polaris belts do NOT have arrows on them so the way you explained in the video is 100% correct. Another thing, you should never start your sled without a belt you can actually cause clutch damage if it accidentally revs to high when first starting and the sheves slam together. Last thing is you should be able to put an ohms meter on there warmer and see if it is broken that way. Anyways love the vids keep em coming

The skidoo hood plastic is called tpo. Thermoplastic olefin. It's a mix of an olefin like polypropylene polyethylene and a bit of rubber. Fiberflex is the welding rod you need but it's in a bad place down by the hinges. You might be better off with zip tie stitches for strength.

Dalton tip the sled on its side or hook a come-along to the front or back and lift it up in the air so you aren't trying to work on the ground.
Atf oil can be used in most chain cases. It's cheaper.
