I never grew up with 80s and 90s Epcot, but I absolutely adore its history! And this audio and concept of Journey into Imagination is really something else. It had a story to share, beautiful scenery and magical music, unlike the version we have today. What happened to those days? It's like Epcot lost its magic and it will never be the same again.

Man, this takes me right back to my childhood. I remember when we first went to Epcot, it was brand new and not even all of the pavilions were open yet. Journey Into Imagination was by far my absolute favorite. Thank you so much for this!

I love this music and the exit music (basically the Magic Journeys theme song). If you go into the restrooms right next to Journey Into Imagination with Figment building, You will here the original ImageWorks area music. And it's the cleanest bathroom in Epcot because it's hidden.

Does anyone have the Imageworks music online?

Wow!! I have had the soundtrack on the oldest Parks CD for a long time, but have never heard this! And the STEREO sound is fantastic! Thank You!

This was back when EPCOT was the best theme park. Now it's just another "kiddy land." There used to be NO Disney characters there, no references to the Magic Kingdom or Mickey, and it was totally on its own. Imagination was the only attraction geared to the younger people, and the rest was GREAT. Too bad Disney later ruined it with too many "baby" things to make children happier. They ruined the Living Seas, Universe of Energy, and others with feeble attempts to please kids... and THEY don't even pay the admission. Thank you for helping me relive a wonderful memory with this posting.

The Disney character ban barely lasted a year. By the time Michael Eisner came onboard in 1985, Mickey and the gang were already regularly appearing in nation-specific outfits around World Showcase, and sci-fi suits in Future World. I would hardly call Test Track or Mission: Space "baby things". They were actually added to pique the interests of older guests. The Living Seas and Universe of Energy may have been less kid-friendly, but they were also arguably less entertaining. If you want people to come back and see your attraction again next visit, you need to give them something worth seeing again. Also, the educational information of ALL the Future World attractions was outdated by the mid-'90s.
I also cannot follow the logic of your argument. You complain that Epcot is geared too young for your taste, and yet you're raving about your nostalgia for Journey into Imagination, in your words "the only attraction geared to the younger people". (Which is demonstrably false anyway. Kitchen Kabaret was undeniably aimed at children, all three "Magic Eye" 3D movies were family oriented, both World of Motion and Horizons had plenty of sight gags for guests of all ages, and several exhibits at Wonders of Life were for the children's benefit.)
Finally, your point of "THEY don't even pay the admission" is utterly ridiculous. Obviously, children do not have their own source of income, nor transportation or supervision to attend the parks alone. As their parent/guardian/guide, YOU are expected to provide the means for their entertainment. Paying for it does not make it exclusively yours. You don't pay to take your kids to R-rated horror or war movies. You don't buy them Happy Meals with toys for you. You take them to Disney World for THEM to enjoy it, and hopefully you enjoy it too, or at least you should take pleasure in THEIR enjoyment.
I understand and respect your nostalgia for old EPCOT Center, and I agree that Epcot is in an awkward phase right now where it has somewhat lost its identity, but Walt Disney World is and always has been for the young and the young-at-heart. If you're looking for exclusively adult culture and entertainment, might I suggest a museum or a shopping mall?

EPCOT was the best in 1984 with all Future World pavilions open and running at full steam. It smelled like lilacs and oranges and it gleemed with mirrors and steel and sleek beauty. Especially at night!

I'm not young enough to have ever been on this attraction, and I've never actually been to Florida before, but this audio gives me a feeling nothing else can.

Magic Journeys was kind of a creepy somber movie with creepy clowns in my face ... in 3D no less. Reminded me of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Checkout the documentary from Martin's Video Tribute from his three part series for the pavilion. First part focuses on the original attraction and Magic Journeys 3D film that played there until Michael Jackson's Captain Eo.

Do you have just the music and Figment's dialogue? I'm doing an audition, and i wanted to use the first bit of this song, but i didn't want to do both Dreamfinder and Figment
