You compare a remake and cannot just say who acted better. the original will always be better. But Kamalhassan role did not just copy mohan lal charater arc. for the talent Kamalhassan has, he could have just portrayed whatever mohan lal was doing, instead he wanted to do a character with more emotion. You can go through the interview by the director on this. Nothing against mohanlal, he is a great actor, but your comparison of drishyam and papanasam is not corret. If mohan lal did remake of Thevar magan, kurudhi punnal, mundram pirai, michael madhana kama rajan, then we can make a comparison and see who is better.
