It´s like what Bob Rock told them when talking about producing what would become the black album: "you guys have never captured what you do live on a record". It is still true to this day, this guys are still an unstoppable machine in their live shows

Aaaaah Metallica. Seen them many times over the last 30 or so years, my first at 14/15yo. Went to Twickenham the day after this Manchester show, took my 7yo for his first ever concert, and so the cycle begins again.
I've seen Metallica live twice here in Italy, I've watched a lot of concert videos, and this is easily one of their best ever. The fuc*ing Manchester crowd provides enough energy to launch a rocket to Mars.
Having been to gigs in various places throughout the UK, nobody quite does it like Manchester. The heritage and history we have here, not just musically but through everything. It's a special place.
I WAS AT THIS CONCERT IT WAS MY FIRST ONE LOVED METALLICA WHEN I WAS 4 YEARS OLD 16 YEARS LATER STILL LOVE THEM THANK YOU SO MUCH SO I CAN RELIVE THIS MOMENT
Idk why but this has to be one of my favorite concerts from Metallica. Probably has something to do with the setlist and atmosphere, James's vocals and their tone just sounds awesome hear as well.
I’m 17 and I’ve listened to Metallica most of my life. I love all of their stuff from Kill Em’ All to Hardwired. In my opinion the Hardwired album and this tour are the best they’ve ever been. I know there are people who disagree and everyone is entitled to their own opinions of “They suck now compared to back in the day” but personally I enjoy this new era of Metallica the best. Just my two cents ^^

Remember now it was absolutely scorching before they came on when Bokassa and Ghost played? Suddenly, Metallica came on and all hell broke loose with the weather
This was my first concert I went to and its something I'll remember for all my life, and I've listened to Metallica my whole life ( I'm 16, so not the longest amount of time) but nothing comes close to a live concert
I get goosebumps every time I hear the crowd singing with Memory Remains... also, props to the camera crew for keeping the water off the lens for the most part!
Took my 14r old son to this show for his first experience of the Metallica family outing and he loved every piss wet rain soaked minute of it. Incredible is an understatement. Massive shout to Ghost also - They fucking killed it.
Here’s how you know Lars is a fantastic drummer - Robert starts For Whom with his “heys” too quickly and Lars jumps in and sets the beat and outright ignores him and the crowd to set up the song. It’s a simple thing, but when you have a monitor in your ear and an entire stadium chanting at a different cadence it is difficult. As a guitarist I have a ton of respect for him as a drummer; him and Robert make a hell of a pair musically for locking down the beat.
I feel like Lars has good concerts and bad concerts (like any other musician). Personally, it’s a bit hard for me to ignore his mistakes but he is pretty tight most of the time. But then again a lot what he has to do is just kick, snare, kick, snare I agree but I wouldn’t say fantastic. He’s decent at best.
@@RLPETTY04 Oh give it a rest. There is not one musician alive who doesn't make mistakes. We ALL do. Heck, Brian May just fucked up his solo at the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee concert - badly - and he's considered one of the best. I've made more mistakes than I can count and I was considered one of the best in my field too. I come from a classical background and worked with some of the greatest musicians and conductors out there and they've all made mistakes - and it's an awful lot more noticeable in Classical music! So anybody who pretends musicians should be some kind of perfect machine needs to sit down and shut up! There's a reason records are very rarely ever produced in one take. As for kick snare kick snare - you're a fool who has obvsiouly never actually listened to the music. So go and actually listen - and then be quiet.
@@hellfirepictures Okay first off, you're 10 months late to this argument, so calm down. Secondly, stop trying to act like you know absolutely everything. Jump in the fire, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fight Fire with Fire, Blackened and several other songs use "kick snare kick snare" so pipe down about be not listening. Maybe you should listen, because in my original comment I alluded to the fact that no musician is perfect. Here's what I wrote: [I feel like Lars has good concerts and bad concerts (like every other musician)] I don't get you man. You're a "classical musician" who "was one of the best in your field" who decided to defend a multimillionaire who doesn't care what you think. So please, fight a different battle, keyboard warrior. When James turned the pick over its custom made to this concert just shows how much respect this band has to their crowd. Absolutely amazing.
When I was 8 I started playing guitar but when I turned to 16 I just got fed up because of the classical music there wasn’t any other option. I set aside my guitar for a couple of years than it’s actually Metallica who turned me on again to play since than I became professional. Can’t thank enough for them.
I love that 40 years into this legendary career and Kirk's mic has still basically never actually been switched on.

I was at this gig, it was my first Metallica show and my GRANDAD took me. Coolest mother fucker out there. He’s 70 now and is coming to download with me next year and has been for the last 3 years too! He’s the man that exposed me to metal, and Metallica being the first metal band I really sat down and listened to as a kid. This gig made me feel as though everything came full circle for us, it was so emotional. What a legend.
the audio on this is AMAZING! the crowd has crazy energy
Incrível mesmo, e ainda por baixo de chuva e isso quase não afetou o áudio
they bloody didn't mate. The crowd sound is due to pure mass but mostly it was gammon/offspring of gammon. This lot would never invest in new bands or listen to new metal on the radio day to day uh uh, no way.

I had goosebumps, it's truly awesome!!
Also Kirk's guitar tone on that melody :')

Yup. I guess you make a good point
I feel like Lars has good concerts and bad concerts (like any other musician). Personally, it’s a bit hard for me to ignore his mistakes but he is pretty tight most of the time. But then again a lot what he has to do is just kick, snare, kick, snare
I agree but I wouldn’t say fantastic. He’s decent at best.
He's by far the best drummer for metallica
Here's what I wrote: [I feel like Lars has good concerts and bad concerts (like every other musician)]
I don't get you man. You're a "classical musician" who "was one of the best in your field" who decided to defend a multimillionaire who doesn't care what you think. So please, fight a different battle, keyboard warrior.
