    Rotf. I'm a commercial roofer here in Texas and that was the funniest comment about the roofers stealing. This year we lost over 80 grand from other companies stealing our materials from job sites. I have a 7" 3 foot long air drier set up at my home for my 80 gallon compressor.

      Lol sorry brother , your not the roofer i refer to LOL. That sound like a beast of a dryer . .It definitely saves your plasma tips

    It is adiabatic cooling and the cooling effect when moving through a large to small orifice (called a Venturi) causes a drastic pressure change. Given the right input temperature, pressure, moisture content, and size of the Venturi, ice can form causing it to clog the Venturi. This is why small aircraft which have carburated engines will also have a carb heat knob in the cockpit to divert a small amount of exhaust gas heat (as needed) into the venturi to melt the ice.

    Nice set up! I was thinking to cobble one out of PVC. But, I like the steel pipe solution for boat anchor durability!
    I would be using mine for the final moisture trap before a plasma cutter in a DIY shop setting. One thing I found that really decreases the moisture in my compressed air is just using another tank downstream. Craigslist is full of 30 gallon tanks and such where the compressor has been roached. I picked one up for $20.00. You could also use BBQ propane tanks after welding fitting bungs. Nice thing about the downstream buffer tank is that the actual compressor can be some distance away from the tool. The buffer tank near the tool prevents the sharp loss of air pressure from a long line run. My buffer tank does clear a lot of the moisture which I've noticed during sandblasting sessions during the humid Summer months. But, the plasma cutter needs drier than dry air.
    I can probably pick up a nice section of 3" or bigger steel pipe at the scrap yard and the capping plate steel on the cheap. Weld on a 3/4" nipple for a ball valve and there's the easy-to-use fill/empty port.
    Thanks for posting!

      Desiccant is made from silica and silica causes silicosis lung disease from fibers in the air. you need a micron filter to catch the particles after the desiccant and it also saves on your consummables. Just an FYI.

    will it work if i connect it to my pump intake instead of the output of my tank? this way water will not even get in my tank. has anyone tried what I'm talking about?

    Hi, may I ask you what is the technical meaning of 'inline'. I am not an expert in this field and have tried to google it without success, thank you very much!

    • @NOBOX7
      @NOBOX7  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it means it can be connected in the hose line system any place you like , it connects into the hose line as if its part of the hose , this keeps it off the machine where it will likely get broke on a job site

      Yes i currently have 2 and i think its 2 liters . It comes with the beads and they can be recharged by placing them in the oven at 250 to 300 deg F until they turn orange . when they are green they need rejuvenated
