Everything here is so cold Everything here is so dark I remember it as from a dream In the corner of this time Diabolic shapes float by Out from the dark I remember it was here I died By following the freezing moon It's night again, night you beautiful I please my hunger on living humans Night of hunger, follow its call Follow the freezing moon Darkness is growing, eternity opens The cemetery lights up again as in ancient times Fallen souls die behind my steps By following the freezing moon
It's not a swords, but upside down crosses, which are also a part of their logo :) This songes comes from the album: De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, which was released after death of their guitarist: Euronymous. He was killed by a former bass player. Lyrics to this song was written by Dead - which shot himself. Well, Mayhem is the band with most f***up story in metal music in my opinion. Another trivia: One of their current guitarists: Teloch (which played solo here) runs his own youtube channel. :) Thank you for your reaction to this :)
Yes he was, such a shame he killed himself and then the guitarist was murdered by Varg. That's when Mayhem died. Nargoroth has a good song about it called the day Burzum killed Mayhem
Better than 99% of the other reactions I have watched! Just got yourself a new subscriber! If you want a really intimidating song, try out “Profetens Åpenbaring” by Gorgoroth. I love the references to Emperor Palpatine. Cheers!
Let me say this black metal is not for everyone, but Black Metal as a genre have evolve alot, you have: Symphonic black metal Post-Black Metal Progressive Black Metal You have some crazy dudes that blends everything, mostly jazz with black metal The list can go further... I would say that first wave of Black Metal and some second wave bands can be very hard for somone that wants high sound quality, many is garage sound or very low-fi, but that how the Genre started, Mayhem is part of the second wave of black metal.
There is a lot of variation in the metal scene, death metal doom, power, atmosphere black metal death doom, etc all different styles of metal, metal, metal good music 🤘
Hi! I did 2 documentaries about this band. I little heads up why this song feels creepy? It is about commiting suicide and what happens afterwards, and yes, the author of this song did commit suicide (former songer Pelle)
You gotta check out the band Gorgoroth, "Prosperity and Beauty " live. I think you'd be impressed by their visual presence as well as musical. Prosperity and Beauty- th-cam.com/video/Cv4tEUqKAeI/w-d-xo.html
If you're going to get into black metal, I recommend the following: Advent Sorrow, Archgoat, Destroyer666 (black/thrash combo), Belphegor (black/death combo), Carpathian Forest, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Darkthrone, Lucifer's Child and of course Immortal. Rotting Christ is another great metal hybrid.
Dude, if you're really gonna get into some amazing black metal you have to listen to some Burzum, a one-man-band from Norway who, together with Mayhem and a few others, defined much of what black metal is and set the bar pretty damn high while he was at it. I'd recommend the song key to the gate, in this song you'll get a little bit of everything th-cam.com/video/Tnc8uKJt-vs/w-d-xo.html
It really is illegal not to read up on this band’s history or watch one of the several documentaries. We’re talking suicide, murder, burning churches etc.
Tell me which first wave of black metal bands are there? all we have is Bathory (the founder of black metal) hellhammer and Celtic frost. which is pretty much the same band as hellhammer because they have the same members. Granted you could say Darkthrone Nargaroth Burzum mayhem are all part of the first wave as well. but technically they started later. so much choices from the first wave of black metal we dont have.
@@metalvideos1961 oh boy. Sabbat(Japan), Necrodeath, Mortuary Drape, Early Sepultura, Early Sodom, Venom ofc, Root, Samael, Vulcano, Bulldozer, KAT and many more are some great First Wave Black Metal bands. Bands that bridge first wave and second wave would be: Blasphemy. Mystifier, Necromantia, Sadistik Exekution. Tormentor, Treblinka and Mefisto, early Mayhem.
@@ProletarianNuklearWarrior you want to go that far? well if you want to go that far then sure. but the first wave of black metal is often seen as Bathory hellhammer and Celtic Frost. i dont put Venom in that list because thats new wave of British Heavy Metal. But yeah if you want to point out those bands sure.
@@metalvideos1961 black Sabbath is "metal" and so is Xasthur. It came at the same time as NWOBHM but Venom sounds nothing like Iron Maiden or Saxon. Early Bathory is just venom with bad vocals. Numerous bands around Europe and south America were inspired by venom. And a few more first wave black metal bands: Parabellum, Sarcofago, Sextrash.
The only way I can listen to this song is with dead on vocals, there's a recording on here. Maniac was the only other good vocalist they had, all the others are terrible

Mayhem, this band is one of the darkest bands with dark history.

You should totally check out this song with Dead on vocals, he was truly something else!

@@atheist101 Mayhem still put out good stuff and live performances though.
@XPGrindDeathking Yeah but I don't like any of the other vocalist except maybe Maniac. In my opinion Dead was the best and it ended to soon
The covers are pretty good with trying to do death's vocals. Only song with death though suck in quality. Prob ai repair ot
dude said its toned down and compared mayhem to slaughter to prevail😭😭u are hilarious imma subscribe
The current singer is great imo, but I do wish Dead were still around, makes me wonder what the bind might've been like with him.
If dead were brought back to life he would kill himself again
Love this song. One of my favorites in black metal
Those aren't swords, those are inverted crosses...

Character from Star Wars😅
He killed the founder of the band.
