Ill never use k&n oil filters ever again. Used the recommended on my chevy truck and it literally unscrewed itself after the 2nd time i used the hole on the end (for extreme offroad purpose shit) to wire tie it to frame and after crankin it tight THE 2ND TIME it unwound and in turn wound the small amount of kind of heavy gauge wire in a tight spiral BLOWIN SEVERAL MORE QUARTS OIL! Thank goodness i was aware both times when i normally accellerated it popped rtf off!
It is true that BMW did not certify Mobil 1 5W-30, but they did certify Mobil 1 0W-40. I have no problem running this 5W-30 (been doing so for years with zero problems).
You got me curious so I checked my records. The last oil change was in June, and I used BMW TwinPower Turbo 5W-30 Engine Oil (purchased from ECS Tuning). I guess I forgot about that (usually use the Mobil 1). I can't say I noticed a difference. But in the future I will consider euro oil.

how do i turn check engine light off
Get a basic scan tool and then reset the codes.
I drove it around a couple days and it went off by itself
Don’t need European oil?
No, as long as the oil is properly rated.
I used royal purple 5w30 but switching to euro 5w30 next time also running knn oil filter runs good

6.5 liters oil or 7 ?🧐🤔
It's 6.5 liters, or 6.9 US quarts.
I think manual says 6.5, last time I did mine it took 7lt in order to show just a bit lower than the max point on the dipstick
What were the torque specs for the filter cap and drain plug?

@@msbrunellor you could’ve just told him
It is not the appropriate oil for this car. U need to use A3/B4 formulation

@@msbrunell Next time try euro oil. You'll notice difference.
