Greetings Gemma and Simon. I have traveled along that route numerous times in the past. On occasions when the weather is pleasant and dry, I have even walked it. There are some stunning locations along the Wirral Way, especially if you venture slightly off the path. For an exceptional vantage point of The Wirral, where you can witness both Wales and Liverpool simultaneously, I recommend visiting Thurstaston Hill. It is not too far from Heswall, and I can offer directions if needed. Your video showcasing our stunning peninsula was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What a lovely post! Looks like you had an idyllic day. I'm so happy you realized that a day away from work would be good for your soul. Most folks who work as diligently as you two are unable to maintain anything resembling a healthy work/life balance. I am SO happy for you. 😊

Ah! Finally! I learn that your ship is in the Dee Estuary and not the Mersey Estuary by you pointing out Caldy Beach, meaning that the other side of the estuary was my country of Wales. A very sore sight for this Welshman in Japan. I was brought up in the village of Glyndyfrdwy, 'glyn' meaning valley and 'Dyfrdwy' is the Welsh name for the Dee. I went to secondary school in Bala, which means 'a point where a river leaves a lake' (Llyn Tegid or commonly known in English as Bala Lake) and that river is the starting point of the River Dee. So, the river has an extra special meaning for me.

What another great video - I love the variety you provide. The range for those bikes was really good, especially for Simon with his heavier weigh . It’s obvious the bikes can take a beating based on the way Simon was riding - so fun to watch and such great scenery. Thanks you for great entertainment and experiencing the sore bun so we do not have that pain - you both look out for your viewers.

I had a lump in my throat when you showed the route on the map and I saw Greasby right in the middle of it. I was born in Liverpool, but from age 4 to 14 we lived in Greasby after which we came to South Africa. You also passed pretty close to my old school - Calday Grange Grammar School - a long time ago that was (55 years).

I did Hooton Station to West Kirby, stunning route, im in to railway history as well as motorbikes, That section is mostly all the old steam railway, the stations and everything else like bridges and tunnels are intact and you pass through all of them, its well worth doing,. Im an above knee amputee and used a normal bike but im thinking about going electric to save my knee a bit.

I've had a couple of electric bikes and I learnt on the first one, get a padded sprung saddle and keep the tyres pumped up the maximum recommended pressure. This gives you more comfort and allows the tyres to be less squishy leading to more range.

I lived in West Kirby and went to school in Hoylake. There used to be an open air swimming pool there. One thing I can remember when the sea went out was dead dogs that had drown, that was quite often as well. Are the seals still there near the golf course. This was in the late 60s very early 70s.

    What a Great video.
Certainly bought a little lump to my throat seeing New Brighton again.
Myself and my then girlfriend ( she was from Knowsley) used to go there quite a bit on our own and with my kids ( they are all adults now but they loved it there exploring the fort and museum and it had a great beach and plenty of rocks for going crabbing ) even my Girlfriend’s Mum and Dad,her daughter and her brothers kids went once ( two car loads ) and everyone had such a amazing time.
Sadly our relationship was not as long as I would have loved but we had 6 and a half Years together and she was a amazing woman.
The only problem we ever had as a Couple was one of my cars had its windows smashed and another one was stolen and used in a Ram Raid ! Luckily I wasn’t arrested but I did get questioned lol 😂.
The thing is Gemma you really do remind me of my ex girlfriend so much, not sure if it’s just that accent but I think it’s something about the way Scousers are ( A Laff a minute 🤷‍♂️ ).
Simon is a very lucky Man.
I was going to ask the question ? How’s ya Bum ? And then you answer it in the Video. I would imagine that it was felt more after a couple of days,I haven’t rode a bike for years now and don’t intend to.
    I prefer something with a bigger Seating area,like a Car 😊 hehehe.
Not seen that many of your videos lately about Sarinda but in the ones I have watched it is great that she is coming along slowly and you two make a great team in bringing her back to life.
Just wanted you guys to know that I think you are a wonderful couple of people and a marvellous Couple and Family ❤

Perch rock fort was a Napoleonic fort that was rebuilt during the 1st and 2nd WW. Apparently it only ever shot once in anger and apparently against one of our own ships lol. In the 60s and 70s it was opened as a quirky sort of visitor centre, it was rough as a bears bottom in that it was dangerous but great fun for kids like me, the tower in the corner used to be a 2 storey lookout tower and was enclosed in and turned into a flat in the late 70s. There were underground casements and magazines to explore and 2 long tunnels out to 2 gun ports on the Mersey facing wall. Most of it was closed off later down to H&S but they had and I still think they have, was an aircraft museum mainly consisting of bits from local crash sites nearby.
Under the fairground there are tunnels which were an ammunition factory during the war and later became a nightclub. They were doing tours up until recently but the Fort is doing ghost tours I believe at this very moment. Check it out on Facebook.
