Folks, Rashod's story isn't about politics or division or any of that. This video simply highlights someone who has a different background and experience than most people he encountered as he got into the car world, and who wants to make it easier for people like him to find their place. That's it. No one is saying car culture is racist or blaming individual car enthusiasts for anything. This is not a woke take. If you're sensitive enough that this bothers you, feel free to unsubscribe.
U obviously changed the title so you know how bad it sounded, not to mention at 5:45 Rashod says “the reason I started motoring while black…“ as if that was the main reason for this video, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what color the person is it’s the passion for the cars and enjoyment we get from it that brings the car community together
That title though , a car person is a car person 🤣 got green skin, big eyes .....antenna? I have never seen where that mattered Changed title, but still everybody was always included have you ever been to car forums, gatherings, track days, mechanic , tuner, TH-cam channels......and see any form of division(age, race, money, disability....) my V8 swap won't start because I am black 🤣🤣
@richardharrold9736 What would you say if I started endlessly yapping about how proud I am to be white, and how I am driving while white, etc.? 'How tolerant', eh?

I think it’s about showing people who aren’t your typical car guy. A lot of our media has historically been with white guys cause that’s who has the money. It’s good to show a kid from the hood that he can like cool old euro cars and have someone who looks like him show him it’s possible
I’m glad that made this guy feel better. However I never seen any lack of inclusivity in car community, is the best community to be in. Nothing but love for everyone. ( except cars with extreme camber, fuck those guys).
As a car guy, this rocks. It really doesn't matter to me that the engine and all are not original, it's on the road. It's getting looks and getting interest.
Thank you for this video. This Bmw is nice and it looks like he owns other cars as well in the video. All I have to say is I love the way this Bmw sounds. It sounds so nice. Nice and clean. Thank you for this video over here on the big island of Hawaii.🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
It feels like this video is from 1969. "Celebrating inclusivity"...the car events in LA are more inclusive and diverse than the cast of a Disney movie.
thanks for the videao. I really liked it. Also seeing this/these car(s) are being loved and respected in the US. It is not a normal American car, a country that always only embrased muscle cars and trucks. These BMW's 1602 and 2002 kinda were the blue collar man's sportscar when I was just a little boy growing up in Western Europe. Now they disappeared. And I realy miss seeing them on the daily roads. So I love it this one is being daily driven in California, the Sunshine State.
Ran into this young dude while on the turnpike yesterday. On the turnpike, because traffic was stopped and his AC and windows weren't working so he was just kind of rolling along with his door open a bit to let some air in. I called out to him and we laughed about it. I noticed he had his IG account on the side of his car, so I pinged him via IG and roasted him a little bit, and we laughed some more. We went back and forth throughout the day talking cars both past and present. See how i didnt mention he was a brown dude and it was still a cool story? Car culture has typically been that way. But this is actually a pretty cool idea, maybe I should start a whites only car club. That wouldn't be divisive at all, would it?
That's all DEI is about, embracing victimhood. From my experience a lot of car guys aren't woke, so this probably won't go over well. Then again it drives engagement so the TH-cam algorithm might reward them for it
@@austinpowers6260automotive media is very woke though. From big corporate channels like this one pushing race garbage, to small independent channels like RCR, which pushes lgbt degeneracy and furryism to medium channels like Smoking Tire with their EDS shitlib nonsense

Yall mad weird bc yall know damn well how the world works and the car community is just a small microcosm of that. Yes race issues arent as prevalent but they are there. If yall triggered by “Motoring While Black” then yall apart of the problem
I had to stop the video. Talking about race cars is the only race talk i want to have. Also, If you don't know to treat people like you want to be treated. And people that treat others bad are just bad people. Something is seriously wrong there. I would like a redo of the video and just let the guy be him. try talking about the car more and the group of cars thats like his in the video. So many missed opportunities. He actually has a cool car and Drive ruined it.
WHAT the heck has colour got to do with Classic BMW's, driving, restoration or ANYTHING. Please can we get over having to define race for everything or anything. Yes triggered - and I am an 'indigenous person'.
My love for BMWs and being a BMW owner come from my love for Ary@n race since I am an Indian and I also put red Swast!k on my car as auspicious sign, does it make it me rac!$t ? 😂😂😂
The car and the owner are awesome. But @drive the amount of us car enthusiasts asking for woke adjacent car content + petrolicious style interviews is really really small. Most of us come to the car community to escape the mainstream media trends. Good luck with the new content but this ain't it.
The title is refencing to his brand. Yall didn't care when it was about the white dude in a wheelchair, but when someone wants to talk about the black identity in the car world yall freak out?
Proud to call Rashod a good friend, he's a true enthusiast and ambassador for not only his community but vintage car ownership in LA! Love this feature.
WTF? Why bring race into the equation? I've never had an issue connecting with someone about cars because of their race. This is just making an issue where there is none. Unsubscribed! 👎
To the people complaining about the original title, tell me you didn't watch the video without telling me you didn't watch the video... the guy from the video literally has a car group he created called Motoring While Black... a bunch of Trumpers in here
Lol, all the people complaining about the title should watch the video. Because "Motoring in Black" is the name of Rashods project. So the title is just fitting.
...then he goes into the spiel on "George Floyd & blackness..." I think that's where people are fed up. I've never been to a show or gathering divided by race, ethnicity, religion, sex- year, make, model, country of origin, yes- but nothing more

You are on your third title of the video, nuff said
Lol the Drive should just remove this stupid video & apologize for insulting the intelligence of their (now reduced) viewers.
Has opposite effect than intended lol
So weird... Let's make race less of a thing by obsessively pointing it out. Car people car just that, car people.
As a PoC, I think this is a pretty terrible title lol... Inclusivity? I've never had anyone care about my skin color if our love of cars connects us.

Yep, divide and conquer…

Why don't you watch the video and determine for yourself if it's divisive?
