- Incredible match of StarCraft 2 between Solar (Zerg) and GuMiho (Terran). In this match GuMiho decides to play a mass Battlecruiser Terran Mech army. Game was played during IEM Katowice, the StarCraft 2 World Championships.

Yeah I think Solar wasn't expecting that split, he just engaged as if all of the Thors were at the left, between the neurals and the broodling he had those quite controlled, but the ones to the south went for a trip on those broods.

This was the first time it really hit me how much range thors have. After seeing them barely able to dance out of broodling range, struggling to get hits in once the hellbats fall, that battle at the end really showed just how insane their anti-air range is when they're actually able to use it.
This is why I target factories harder than command centers. I'd rather deal with a terran player that has ghosts, air, and a better economy than me than deal with thor spam.

I feel like squeezing in a +1 air weapons and better control to keep some of those battlecruisers alive would have really snowballed Gumi into the middlegame.
To me, that was the most exciting game you have shown this year, Lowko!

Though I honestly feel like Gumiho was throwing as hard as he could at some points especially with that 1st BC.

This is why I love watching A or even B tier pros duke it out on big tournaments. They just have so much variety in their games.
S tier games are just too rigid and calculated, most of the times it’s just too formulaic for experienced audience like me.
It’s just sad that the SC scene took a big hit this year. It leaves no room for player like Gumiho on big stage anymore. Also with pros starts to think about career transition, i think we will start to see S tier pros getting sloppy as well.
So sad.

Credit to Gumi for preparin in advance the mech army that wiped out Solar towards the end cause imo without that mech army, the conflict at 16.30 that could’ve sealed GumiHo’s fate what an expensive loss
Damn lowko those Thor's were much more worthy of the title and thumbnail though a bit of a spoiler that's more Thor's than I've ever seen bringing death to the entire bunch of broodlords.

It seems like he forced him into corruptors with the battlecrusers, baiting him into going broodlords while ready to counter with mass thor production. I don't know much about SC2 but that is my idea for why he chose not to get upgrades for the BCs and didn't seem bothered losing so many of them to buy time and deal eco damage.

Does repair cost factor into resources lost?
Repairs are more of an investment cost than it is resources lost. It's just like building a unit, except much better as you don't spend gas and the wait is much less.
I don't know why GuMiho bothered with building Thor's, he could have just built 1 ghost and 1 nuke and Solar would have donated his whole army to him

My cat does the same ting with my PC. I was wondering why my PC was shut down in the mornings when I leave it on. Turns out my cat thinks it's a but warmer and knows I will chase her off so waits until my wife and I are sleeping before getting up there and get's off when she hears us wake up. PC usually has overheated and shut down by then.

Are the scans taken in account in the ressources lost? That must cost a ton in total
Scans are spells. It takes energy and thus no actual resources

he should have waited. saved up 5 battlecruisers and done everything he could to keep them hidden. then revealed what he's done.
and yes if you go for bc's you have absolutely gotta go for the upgrades. otherwise its not worth it

I honestly think battlecruiser opener is great, just every single time, and I mean every single time I see someone trying in a pro game, he also tends to lose half of his battlecruisers in an absolute dumb way

Lowko! Be careful with cats on your pc! Not just the fur stopping air flow but if they static shock it they could accidentally fry your pc. One small shock is all it takes.
Its why I keep mine off the carpet. Friend of mine carpet + socks went to touch it and zap! No more motherboard or cpu

Do not, DO NOT, allow Thors to get a good position on massive air units.
They will delete them.
At 14 Thors, I think, even battlecruisers that open up with yamato cannon lose, because that's the threshold when Thors oneshot them.
The only massive air that beats Thor is brood lords, if they get a perfect position and group up well, or Tempests, when they're kiting. No one else stands a chance.

For the love of SC2 Fungal Growth should NEVER hit AIR same goes for PsyStorm !!! Yamato Cannon should Always hit a corruptor or a spore crawler or a Queen !!
Sometimes I don't understand pro players. After 17 minutes using bc's without upgrades, Gumiho starts air weapons upgrade while massing thors. Sure, for vikings but... 17 minutes????
Finished the video. No vikings, and the last bc died before the upgrade. Oh, well.

GuMiho 16:30 is a terrible battle. He couldn't even get off one Yamato cannon. Really terrible.

Each time I see people going for broodlords they lose the game. Its a shame the only anti air zerg has are corruptors because hidras still suck
