Always good to get a bit of muck on the ground. With the tractor permanently on the spreader though wouldn't it make sense to at least plug the pipes and lights in. Keeps things tidy and you can open lid then to help with loading
Lovely muck. We've just had our contractors in to spread nearly 600 tons of our cow muck and 150 tons of our lavender waste. Amazing to watch these guys working. They have rear discharge spreaders and carry massive loads. Great video. Look forward to the next one. Regards to the family
@@lordofhowell7158 sadly there is so much going on the farm at the moment with autumn cultivations and drilling I never had time next time we have them back I'll make a point of getting a video. I did manage to get a vew pictures of the tractors before they started. Good to hear from you
first off let me thank you for taking the time to make the vids i make them my self so i know how long it takes to make them im very jelly of you mum and me always wanted a farm nothing on your scale of course a small holding so we could maybe have a small farm shop sadly she is no longer here and im 45 now so getting to old for dreaming so i have to live through others i love watching your vids my only complaint is there to short lol thanks again mate and i wish you great success in 2021
One of the big differences between you there and how we did our manure was during the winter we hauled from the barn everyday. The only time we would ever pile it was if the winter snow just got to deep to get out into the field. Even pens would be cleaned throughout the winter and spread right away. Wasn't much manure in the summer since our cows were out all the time. Maybe a load from the barn every two weeks. But I sure do get you, seems to be piled as far away as it can be from where you need it. Great video Richard.
So glad we got rid of our side flinger. No chain shortening, no cleaning it out afterwards if you don’t want it to rot through. Just load up for the contractor with his big rear end flinger which gets the job done in no time.
Do you power wash the spreader after use to remove the very acidic muck. Many farmers don't and then wonder why there equipment rots. When I worked on a farm some 30 years ago the fellow I worked for thought I was mad on making sure that equipment was clean after use.He came round in the end when equipment needed less money spent on it and was ready for use even after many months of sitting idle.By the way it was easier to clean immediately after use than when every thing had set solid.I know that time is at a premium on a farm but 15-20 minutes spent power washing a piece of expensive equipment saves money in the end.
💓You don’t normally see 4 herons together unless that’s parents & two baby’s although they didn’t look like babies to me looked like 4 adults could be 1 female & 3 males trying to mate💓
@@thefunkyfarmer the david brown was/is a very good gripping 2wd tractor, because there heavy on the rear end & light at the front, but massey fergusion hydraulic system is stronger and less complex than david Brown
That good your spreading Richard, the best fertiliser for grass meadows. I used to love much spreading as I saw it as free fertilizer. How I only have a garden I still use well rotted horse manure from a local organic stables who get there straw and hay from an organic farmer, I now never use any artificial fertilisers, am now totally organic, I do realise it's more difficult for farmers to be organic but for me I can certainly taste the difference in the veg I grow.

Why do you not seem to open the spreader lid when loading up?

Hey Richard
I would put a small amount of muck on the ground to be ploughed and put the rest on the grassland as its great for correcting p and k
Clover is hard killed when well established. Glad the weeds are going though. Will you do a post emergence spray?

Where did the Massey Ferguson come from
His yard they’ve had it years just sits on the spreader all year round
What’s the NH equivalent to that McCormick
Ts 100 / Ts115
Bet you didn't pick your noise for the rest of the day.
Plenty of FYM, tis great for d soil. How come we only see d MF4345 when you're spreading dung?
its just the muck spreader tractor
