Love ... love ... love ... that this Arabian stallion is shown 'at liberty' . I'm new to the unusual universe of in-hand showing of Arab stallions and have been horrified at the whip-with-plastic-bag attached waving, halter jerking and generally intrusive interventions employed by their handlers to get them to move - typically in a state of hyper alertness. I was appalled until I saw this 'liberty' class. Why are they not all shown like this ? The handler is able to elicit such presence and movement without all of the bullshit. I am talking about the Paris Horse Show ... not some backyard rodeo BTW.
I also hate the whips and plastic bags. I don't need them anyway. My arabian stallion is hyperallert already and I certainly don't want to increase this. The great thing is I can have him at my side acting like a perfectly quiet sport horse with nothing more than a light tap on his leadrope with my finger tip. He's quite the show off at liberty since he likes to be the center of attention.
Yes, the bunny hop is cute but is that the kind of movement you want to ride? Personally I think it would grow tiresome in a very short time. I much prefer the movement of my own stallion who looks much the same but absolutely floats even at a fast trot.

I am not an expert in horses sorry for my ignorance, even though I am an Egyptian lol, is the Egyptian bloodline horses considered Arabian horses or different? And if not which is better in your opinion?
This isn’t really liberty it’s more like halter but liberty is judged on how well the horse obeyed and showed off my mare does this and they are told commands and they show off while running around liberty classes aren’t real liberty
I prefer the movement of my own arabian stallion who absolutely floats even at a fast trot. He doesn't look much different aside from being black instead of bay with slightly different markings but his movement is so much more pleasant to ride than the currently fashionable bunny hop.
