I gave my last skateboard away 10 years ago, when I saw my neighbor's son break his deck in front of my apartment. This podcast makes me want to get back on the board.
I'm 6'4" and can confirm Sean's Experience as a tall guy skateboarding. The other thing is that your center of gravity is so much higher so it can be a bit harder to balance tricks than when I was kid.
Richie, Tim Pool cut your story about George Harrison’s son introducing you to the bones brigade, would love to hear the full story in a video sometime!
6:20 I'm 35 with a beard amd was made fun of by the little kids in my neighborhood😅 they were calling me skater Boi and laughing when I fell. Shit don't change even 15 years later
who ever cut together the three cameras did a bangin job. most of the times cuts became annoying and just to show that they have multiple cameras, but this is an artist, who knows what he is doing. it ads so much to this brilliant dialogue.
Instagram murdered skating. It wasn’t the forum, it is the community. Those guys eat each other alive because of ‘brand image.’ Too many kids picked up on marketing concepts that have nothing to do with culture
The minute community guidelines drove content Baker dried up, same with the entire era of debauchery. CKY, Bloodhound Gang, Emerica, things that pushed social boundaries by leaning into video and mag sales outside of pop culture just quit existing. Where’s the social outlet now?
It really depends how you look at it tbh. At the same time you can see kids killing it in places with no real skate scene in countries a lot of people couldnt find in a map. Like anything, it has it's good and bad aspects. Sure, the Big Brother days are over, but skating still has plenty if debauchery lol.
With the addition of it into the Olympics, it's only going to commercialize more tbh. At the same time seeing things like the Ugandan Skate Society online and watching this kids progress helka fast while keeping the DIY spirit is really cool. It would have mever happened without the Internet and outside funding too. Ypu coukd say the same thing about underground music, art, graffiti, fashion, really anything tbh though. Its just a side effect of the world being more connected.
lmao, I can't break the varial stigma since watching the Ritchie Jackson show 10 years ago. It was the best trick I could land at the time and was a little bummed out Ritchie bashed it so hard. All in good fun tho, that shit is still hilarious. I still make sure to carry my mask on me whenever I think about doing a varial.
I was starstruck when I met you at Alex Heads skatepark a few years back.... Couldn't believe it was you just skating there and instead of chatting was a complete kook.... Anyways, did you ever meet Frank Stephens, used to ride for Unabomber then had a section on a Blueprint video? He learnt backside flips on acid. There you go!
I actually did the upside down 360 flip (switch) before both of these guys, but never got it on film because it is so lame, and I think VX wasn't even invented yet... I swear.
Seems like a lovely guy, but who is he? There's no set up or backstory, and unless you're interviewing legends (and probably even then), it would be better. Been a fan since your tall black socks days but if you're gonna do it, do it. Preferably without culture war fighters like Tim (I dived into the shallow end of the) Pool, but I guess a platform is a platform, I mean Street League is on Rumble 🤮

I started skateboarding in 86's, and I just turned 51 on July 3rd, and I'm still skateboarding.

Haha it's 10min left in the video and I just realized it is filmed in the castle.
As a skater the same age as you guys, I really appreciate this podcast and this channel. Just subbed to this channel. Love it!!!

Same here!
Maybe Tim Pool doesn't like The Beatles. Let´s cancel him for that. Just kidding.
An audio only version of this would be good too.
Let’s get it
Thank you for giving me a better argument as for why tony hawk sucks
Great episode man! Didn’t know you had a podcast. Skate or die 😊 xoxo

And don’t tell me it’s alt tech. An app can’t replace the anticipation of the monthly mag in the mail

There won’t be a skater president, freemasons rather don’t skate

This ain't your Grandpa's propaganda.
I actually did the upside down 360 flip (switch) before both of these guys, but never got it on film because it is so lame, and I think VX wasn't even invented yet... I swear.
