Thank you Marie for another wonderful video. I have been fighting with a couple of 99's lately. Your video may be helpful to me in getting one of them running. Have a wonderful day.
I'm looking forward to seeing this when she's got her new paint-job - she's 'dinky'. That stitch length plate was a nice surprise too, it looks really good with the paint off. Whenever I see a screw slot that doesn't go all the way across a screwhead I think 'Hmmm, reverse-threaded perhaps?'. I know you got that piece out in one go, which is ideal, but if you do decide to take it further apart for cleaning and they seem a bit tight it's worth double-checking if they are 'righty-loosey' first. (I have a funny story about a 201 that taught me that, after I'd battled a single screw for days!)
My Spartan only has the bigger hole on the backside. I did use it to mount a light. Do you sell the bases your husband makes or does he have directions on how to make one? Some of my machines could use some dressing up at the bottom.

Try using needle nose players for those small parts
❤
Made in Great Britain, Scotland Kilbowie factory, the Clydebank factory. I got the well made 221K and 201K from that factory.
Would Mark be willing to sell his wood box bases for older machines..?? Just asking??❤❤
I'm afraid not. I can only get him to make them for me :)

Another great find...
How did you remove the paint from the stitch plate to expose the brass(or whatever that plate is made of?)?
Hi, I blasted it off and then polished the plate afterwards. Nice finish though :)

I'm thinking someone drilled in the second hole. Also, I'm sorry but right now he is only making boxes for me.
