Absolutely love how Status Quo captures the essence of storytelling in Slow Train. The musicianship is top notch, and it's fascinating to hear the emotional depth in their lyrics. Great choice for a reaction video, looking forward to seeing your insights on this track!

    My favorit QUO album.
Saw them play this live at the Pink Pop festival in the Netherlands in the 70's.
    Verry verry good performance.
Close my eyes, I still see and hear it.
First reaction to this one ,as far as I know, so...THANKS A LOT.💪👍😁❤️

I played these albums to death in the mid/late 70's. I'm now enjoying new generations listening to them. Yes, I know they are not "cool" but that's what makes them cool.

From 1971 to 1978 they were at their best, Dog of two head, Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On the level, Blue for you, Live, throw in Whatever you want as the weakest....

Wow thanks for this, one of the first albums I ever bought at the age of 12.. lol.
Status Quo, Nazareth and Iron maiden, so many memories from the 70/80s.
My interest in rock and metal music has been recently revived by a band that buy Western metal norms? Shouldn't exist?
All female, Japanese, dress in white, no tattoos, positive messages, and quite possibly the most talented musiciens l have ever heard.
    The band name is Lovebites
And they have over 60 songs. Their live performances are out of this world.
Listening to you break down this classic, l would love to see you react to one of their masterpieces called A frozen serenade, the live version. It is a musical journey like no other..
Best wishes to you from France 🤘🇨🇵

Massive popularity when I was young and they still are. How many current artists will have this iconic status 50 years from now. Another great track GP. Is Bagpuss in a huff?

The golden 70ths of Status Quo. Maybe: Paperplane, Caroline, or Big fat mama ? I still got the albums from that period. They hit me from the start when i heard them for the first time with, Down down in the early 70ths. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Only "music snobs" talked about 3 chords. They never said that about The Doors, CCR, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry etc etc

This was when Quo were very much on the top of their game. Their previous album to this one, 'Hello!', is arguably their best, but this follow-up from 1974 comes pretty close! If you like this closing track, (which was always a bit of a tradition where it tended to be the longest one to finish the album), then you'll probably also like the first 2 which run from one into the other. Namely, 'Backwater', and, 'Just Take Me.' Both sang by Alan Lancaster, who generally didn't sing all that many songs on the albums, compared to Mssrs. Rossi and Parfitt. Quo were one of only a few bands who had 3 singers. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Queen. 'Slow Train', from this album is a belter of a closing track, for sure. I love the melodic, 'jig', part, then the drum solo before it goes full-on with the signature Quo sound at the end. Fantastic song.
If you want a sample of, 'early', Quo, then you could try something off the Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon album. 'Junior's Wailing', 'Shy Fly', or, 'Spinning Wheel Blues', as examples. That album was the first of theirs were they got into the whole boogie rock scene. Previously, they played what they were told to play in order to become, 'famous', and, 'pop stars.' Something that appealed to them for 5 minutes before wanting to actually play stuff they wanted to play, not to mention dress down from frilly shirt to jeans and t-shirts. Having long hair was a prerequisite, of course, in those days!

Great reaction. I'd like to see you react to the song 'Blue Eyed Lady' from the 'Hello' album, 1973. The intro goes through about 4 transitions before the song proper starts. Classic Quo.

Quo did a few concept type tracks this being the best one. Unfortunately Quo never played this live in full, just a small segment within a live medley they did

I love how you can see the complete difference in latter Quo and this Quo. Quo after 1981 were just too poppy, and Rossi just hated doing solos, and the harder Quo. Quo the hard rock band were amazing, Quo the soft rock band, bang average.
