I think your reasons not to get a cat are sooo valid! and it really shows your big hearts and sense of responsibility. It is like a child and I think so many people underestimate the responsibility that comes with it.
I agree. Its frustrating how social media only shows the fun cuteness that comes with cats cus that drives engagement. But the reality (that people dont post on) is the financial strain, emotional hardship, the pain, just overall heavy responsibility of raising a cat.

We didn't want another cat. Last year? 2 years ago? A cat was laying in a flower bed. We couldn't let her there. There were no posters for her going missing or anything. But we have 8 pets now and it's VERY difficult.
When I saw at the beginning of the video a cat that looked like a different colored Beemo, I thought... omg, they adopted!!!! I'm glad you spent/are spending time with Lemi. She is absolutely beautiful. As a cat rescue volunteer for the past 20 years, I think everyone has the right to make their own decision. Some people grieve the loss for a long time before adopting again, some adopt right away thinking their previous cat would want them to provide a home for another cat, some make the choice to take a long break like you are doing (hopefully on day you will feel it is time to adopt again as you are both such wonderful cat parents). In the meantime, I hope your friends travel more often so you can spend time with Lemi. It's clear that you both enjoyed her company and no doubt she enjoyed yours. Being a responsible pet owner is hard because you care about taking the best care for your pet no matter the cost. I totally understand your decision around getting another cat. My Toby, a poodle mix, passed away in September. He was 17. He was blind, hard of hearing, incontinent, but so loved and is so missed. He started getting sick and just old age about five years ago. At that time I adopted a brother for him to keep him company. Luckily when Toby passed, I had Asher, but the grief of losing such a beloved pet made me realize that when Asher inevitably passes, I don’t want to go through that grief again. I totally understand and agree with both of you about not adopting. I also find it so heart-warming that Lemi is now like a family member for you and all of us, who can, and will visit us from time to time just like all of us see cousins and uncles sporadically in a year. Lemi is sooooo pretty! omgggg It was good to hear you talk about not wanting another because Lemi's cuteness blinded me the first half of the video lol from 2019 to 2023 I lost a pet one after the other, all were around the same age, and not even a full year passing between them, I agree, I cannot do that again. Also until you've had a pet yourself, you don't realise the responsibility that comes with it, it feels like not a big deal until its real. I think caring for outdoor kittys and giving your friends a chance to take a break knowing their furr baby is cared for is a wonderful thing

Happy new year! 11:31 Pet loss is difficult, and you cared soo well for Beemo. You two made a really wise choice not adopting now. People sometime underestimate the time and cost of a pet. It is a really responsible choice you made. English camp for your friends' kitties seems a great option 👍 We lost our cat in 2014, and were not planning to have another one (changes in the family situation, time for the pet, ecc). But the cat distribution system worked its ways and, after almost 6 years, we adopted a 6 year old cat that just lost his owner and needed a place to stay. Everybody has a different story, we should respect everyone choice 👍
Your reasons not to adopt for a while, is something I absolutely understand, as someone that loss not one but 2 pets and emotionally was really draining , it took a lot and it has been 7 years since I have not taking those steps. Like you I'm in a very small space and my situation for now is not ideal. I take solace in taking care other people's pets and, as you said ,until the time is right I'll be the little ones favorite aunt. Happy and healthy new year to you both ❤
I can totally relate, i lost my Zoe (toy pom) in 2014 and i’m still mourning. The draining heart break watching your child/pet fade is something i can’t bare to repeat. It takes a toll on you…❤
I respect y’all’s decision to not get another pet anytime soon. I had 5 cats at one time, and eventually, one by one, they developed various illnesses that became a huge responsibility. The financial burden was rough, and caring for several sick kitties, one after the other, was emotionally draining. Plus, I was caring for community cats as well. It was a lot. Losing my furbabies was excruciating, and I’d had all of them since they were kittens. My surviving kitty is turning 15 this spring and I’m watching him like a hawk because he has a heart murmur. He seems fine, but it’s stressful leaving him because he’s so attached to me, and of course I worry. I have to go visit my elderly dad in West Texas and I’m already stressing about leaving my old man kitty for a couple days. I’ve decided once he’s no longer with me, I’m taking a looooong break from having pets. I’m still grieving my other kitties and this one is going to leave me an emotional mess. For some people getting a new pet helps with healing from grief, but I’ve had so much loss and grief these past 7 years, I just need a good long break. You guys are making a wise decision. I totally get it.

Having a pet is a huge responsibility, and until a person is ready to accept that responsibility, they shouldn't get one. You guys are making the right decision to wait. Never let anyone tell you differently.

I think your decision about not adopting another cat for now is a very sound and thoughtful decision. Too many people adopt for frivilous reasons without recognizing that it is a lifelong commitment and then end up dumping the cat when he/ she is not convenient for their lifestyle anymore. I respect your commitment and generosity towards your outdoor cat community (Grey and the other cuties). ✊

My last cat lived to almost 20 years, but was progressively sicker his last year. It was gut wrenching. I knew I couldn’t take care of another cat again for a long time. However, I was happy to be a reliable cat sitter for a neighbour. It was a lovely way to get my cat fix without the burden. And it helped out our neighbour knowing her cats were well cared for.
Lemi is such a beautiful Cat! It's so nice of you to take care of her. She gets cared for well & you get to enjoy a Cat for awhile with no strings. Very sensible! Look forward to seeing her again. 🥰
I can totally understand on not getting a new cat, I haven’t had a new pet since my last cat & for me it’s basically all the logistics that make it impossible right now. Owning a pet isn’t a part time deal or something you can just do on a whim so credit to you guys for being thoughtful & thinking what’s best for everyone involved.Especially if you travel at all (let alone as you do for a month+ at a time)it would be very difficult, maybe some time later it’ll be possible for you (& me!) but you have to do what’s best for you & for any potential pet. For the time being take all the opportunities to cat sit & care for all the strays in the area, no lie literally every time I see Grey I think about that time a few years ago you saved him after he had gone missing for weeks, so lovely to see them doing well! 😻
16:02 💯 I lost my cat, whom I loved like my own child, to his awful heart condition in 2021 and our last years together weren't only financially draining, but most of all absolutely distressing and heart-wrenching. Medication 4 times a day, his pain and suffering, late night emergency visits to the vet clinic... I cried all the time and felt a soul-crushing guilt each time I left the house. I do want to give a forever home to cats who need it, I really do, but the mere thought of losing another fur baby under similar circumstances is already too much.
I can totally relate to your stance on not getting another cat. I don't comment often, I think the last time was when Beemo passed away as my cat of 2 decades had passed away that same week. The fact that they'd both gone through such similar medical journeys and how you processed your grief so similarly to me, it resonated with me, and watching this video now it looks like we still feel very much the same about it. I also want to travel more now, I've always worked remotely but stayed home because of my cat. I feel like he'd want me to go out and see the world now. I hope you can move on too, knowing that he'd want you to be happy and see family overseas as much as you'll want to. 💕

I get it. My Persian cat got kidney disease. At first I was spending all this money . Emotional decision.. I loved him so much ..I read a lot of articles on it. A couple said there is no cure and your just prolonging the inevitable. They said just love on them and keep them comfortable. It got to the point we finally sent him over the rainbow bridge. Cried and cried.

It's totally valid to not have another pet if you don't want one. It's very hard caring for an ailing animal, especially for multiple years. You guys gave Beemo the best life he could have had in the time you had him. There will always be more cats out there if you ever change your minds. When I lost my Tabby Tubbs there were lots of kitties at home (still are, they are grown now ofc, into cheeky young cats), so there was never any question to whether we'd continue to have a pet cat or not. My heart still hurts from having to put down our girl Pipa.. she was sick since we adopted her, little things that kept growing until she had bad seizures everyday.. at the end she had three to four seizures a day. We took her to the doctors office every month, gave her meds, did everything possible to help her until it was time to let her go… so I totally understand what you went through and you still need time to heal and enjoy your peace. i really envy this peaceful new years eve atmosphere you got there. being able to take a walk outside! i am in berlin, germany, they sell lots of fireworks in every supermarket and once it is dark outside, it is a literal war zone. during new years eve lots of apartments and cars burnt down, because people just go crazy outside. seeing how nice it is in seoul makes me think i need to move away from here.
I get your position with regard to taking on another pet. Pets can develop all sorts of problems. My pup developed a host of medical problems in his senior years and it was emotionally stressful, financially draining, and personally restrictive. I do miss the company of a pet, and I go back and forth wanting to make that commitment again, and it's been over 1 year for me. I believe there will be a time when one knows it's time to do it again. And, if it doesn't happen, that's ok. HAPPY NEW YEAR. To the best one ever.
I totally agree with you guys. We've lost cats here and I mean ALOT and it does take a toll on your mental health. Emotionally you are so invested in these little family members and one by one they pass and lemme tell you, it's not easy every time. So with that, we made the decision of not getting more pets. We still love cats and dogs and every animal but we'll love them from afar. Its just too much heartbreak.

Lemi is adorable! She seems like such a well mannered cat, her owners are so lucky! We recently (October) adopted a kitten, and she is giving us a run for our money. I'd never had a kitten before, the youngest was our (as a couple) first cat at 6 months and he's always been an angel, but our little kitten (4mos atm) is an actual menace, full on raptor behaviour. I think it's super commendable that you guys came to a concise decision and are sticking to it, regardless of what anyone says. Pets enrich your life greatly, but as a fellow DINK couple... man, they really snuff out some of your freedom, especially when they have medical conditions that require constant treatment. I completely understand where you guys are coming from. My husband and I adopted a cat when we first got married, and got a dog four years later... he has made travel so difficult for us, as an international couple. None of our trips are ever longer than two weeks, because that's the longest we feel comfortable saddling someone else with the responsibility. Now that we've added a third pet to the mix, I don't even know how we'll manage to continue to travel haha. I genuinely think you guys have made the best choice to suit your lifestyle and preferences, and who's to say whether you won't change your mind down the line, or NOT! It's y'all's life and everyone should respect that, you already graciously choose to share some of it with your audience and no one is entitled to anything from you. I am on the same boat as you guys. We lost our dog of 13 yrs about 4 months ago and he was very sick the last few years of his life. My husband and I also made the decision that we would not adopt another pet. We need a break to heal. We also love to travel and the stress of finding a sitter and the worrying even while on vacation also took a toll on us. You guys are making the best decision for yourselves and what fits within your lifestyle choices.

I absolutely adore animals but I've been living alone for many years and I'm still not ready to adopt a pet because of everything you mentioned. Frankly I think its the smart mature thing to do, where a lot of people adopt maybe not on a whim but without really thinking through everything it entails.. our regional network of shelters is absolutely full, no cages available at the moment. That really makes you think, of everyone getting rid of pets they adopted after a few years. I volunteer instead and I'm happy with that. Lemi is SO cute, absolutely adorable kitty.

Cat sitting is a great idea. I have lost 3 cats in total of my life and I agree it's not easy. You may also think about fostering for recuses before a cat get adopted. Not sure if that's common in Korean. But many rescues in Canada operate that way.
Losing a cat due to illness was emotional. It took us 5 years to get another cat. Oreo came to us in September. She was a stray and estimated to be 2 years old.
Definitetly understand you! I grew up with pets my whole life and I recently moved on my own. As much as I LOVE cats, I don't need or want to own another cat for a good period of time. Same as you, I get my kitty needs fulfilled in other ways, but without the constant responsibility.
It’s quite a nice change to have a cat momentarily back in your lives. I could see how both of you light up with the new kitten. I am also watching Silo and Squid Games. Both are amazing. I definitely recommend the book series which Silo is based on written by Hugh Howey. I am currently on the first book Wool.
Arcane S2 was so good! (I cried so hard at the ending.) I can't get over how cute Lemi is, she's so sweet! I've always loved your Christmas village, I started one this year with what are called Julby here in Sweden. They're so adorable, I just wish they were USB-powered rather than battery-powered. I get the reticence to have another pet in the home. It's stressful to find someone to take care of our cat, I've been tremendously lucky that we can afford for me to go by myself to the US and stay a a good 3-4 weeks before my husband arrives but we don't like to burden friends & family for longer than two weeks so we always have to carefully plan our trips to make sure we minimize the amount of time we're away. Our NYE was very similar to yours, we're too old to party. Binge watching TV and eating delicious food is our idea of a good time at our old (millenial) age! Also, I hope someone at Hanil is watching because EU plugs & voltage are compatible with South Korea's and I want that humidifier!

I lost my first and definitely last lil hamster two years ago. I'll cherish his memory but it's better for me not to get another one (for very similar reasons to yours). When there is no insurance to cover the vet bills you can easily end up spending 20K just like you did. And that is a lot of money. I think we should all be allowed to grieve in the ways that most suit our hearts, mind and lifestyle. In June 2019, we had to say goodbye to our beloved ginger cat due to cancer. He was 20 and had stayed with us since he was 10, that's when we adopted him. His loss meant a great deal to us, my heart was broken and shattered into pieces. However, the house was so empty and so after a relatively short period of time, I decided to go to our local shelter to adopt a new cat to give him the opportunity to live a better life and that's when our Merlin came to us. He's an adult cat with anxiety and other issues, but we love him so dearly that it's impossible to think of a life without him. After two years since his adoption, one summer night we found an abandoned kitten in our house garden and decided to keep her. Now, we have Merlin and Ginny and our hearts are full. ♥ One day, when you're ready again, I'm sure you'll welcome another one in your family, but for now enjoy your lives the way you want to, that is also very important. Happy New Year! We are a retired couple. We lost our beloved dog five years ago. He was diabetic and was on special food and insulin shots twice a day. He eventually went totally blind, but still managed quite well. When he passed away, we mourned for a long time. I completely understand your choice. Our dog cost us a lot of money too. And when we traveled we had to leave him at the vet to get his shots, etc. Also we are enjoying the freedom to come and go as we please. Will we ever get another pet? Maybe someday, but not right now.

My last cat had to be put down 6 weeks after my Mum died and it was one of the worst days of my life as she was all I had left. Lemi is so cute!!! I adpoted my cat just before u guys lost beemo and although my cat is still fairly young at 3.5 years old i am dreading the day where i have to say goodbye to her. She is my first proper pet and i am already so attached! Just thinking about the day when i dont have her in my life already gets me teary😢
She took my heart. I might have boop her nose on my screen a couple of times because she just the cutest. She’s making me become a cat person. My dogs are looking at me and judging me I know I’m betraying them.

I think your reasons not to get a cat are sooo valid! and it really shows your big hearts and sense of responsibility. It is like a child and I think so many people underestimate the responsibility that comes with it.
I agree. Its frustrating how social media only shows the fun cuteness that comes with cats cus that drives engagement. But the reality (that people dont post on) is the financial strain, emotional hardship, the pain, just overall heavy responsibility of raising a cat.

We didn't want another cat. Last year? 2 years ago? A cat was laying in a flower bed. We couldn't let her there. There were no posters for her going missing or anything. But we have 8 pets now and it's VERY difficult.
When I saw at the beginning of the video a cat that looked like a different colored Beemo, I thought... omg, they adopted!!!! I'm glad you spent/are spending time with Lemi. She is absolutely beautiful. As a cat rescue volunteer for the past 20 years, I think everyone has the right to make their own decision. Some people grieve the loss for a long time before adopting again, some adopt right away thinking their previous cat would want them to provide a home for another cat, some make the choice to take a long break like you are doing (hopefully on day you will feel it is time to adopt again as you are both such wonderful cat parents). In the meantime, I hope your friends travel more often so you can spend time with Lemi. It's clear that you both enjoyed her company and no doubt she enjoyed yours. I totally understand your decision around getting another cat. My Toby, a poodle mix, passed away in September. He was 17. He was blind, hard of hearing, incontinent, but so loved and is so missed. He started getting sick and just old age about five years ago. At that time I adopted a brother for him to keep him company. Luckily when Toby passed, I had Asher, but the grief of losing such a beloved pet made me realize that when Asher inevitably passes, I don’t want to go through that grief again. Lemi is sooooo pretty! omgggg It was good to hear you talk about not wanting another because Lemi's cuteness blinded me the first half of the video lol from 2019 to 2023 I lost a pet one after the other, all were around the same age, and not even a full year passing between them, I agree, I cannot do that again. Also until you've had a pet yourself, you don't realise the responsibility that comes with it, it feels like not a big deal until its real. I think caring for outdoor kittys and giving your friends a chance to take a break knowing their furr baby is cared for is a wonderful thing

11:31 Pet loss is difficult, and you cared soo well for Beemo. You two made a really wise choice not adopting now. People sometime underestimate the time and cost of a pet. It is a really responsible choice you made. English camp for your friends' kitties seems a great option 👍
We lost our cat in 2014, and were not planning to have another one (changes in the family situation, time for the pet, ecc). But the cat distribution system worked its ways and, after almost 6 years, we adopted a 6 year old cat that just lost his owner and needed a place to stay. Everybody has a different story, we should respect everyone choice 👍
Your reasons not to adopt for a while, is something I absolutely understand, as someone that loss not one but 2 pets and emotionally was really draining , it took a lot and it has been 7 years since I have not taking those steps. Like you I'm in a very small space and my situation for now is not ideal. I take solace in taking care other people's pets and, as you said ,until the time is right I'll be the little ones favorite aunt. Happy and healthy new year to you both ❤

I respect y’all’s decision to not get another pet anytime soon. I had 5 cats at one time, and eventually, one by one, they developed various illnesses that became a huge responsibility. The financial burden was rough, and caring for several sick kitties, one after the other, was emotionally draining. Plus, I was caring for community cats as well. It was a lot. Losing my furbabies was excruciating, and I’d had all of them since they were kittens. My surviving kitty is turning 15 this spring and I’m watching him like a hawk because he has a heart murmur. He seems fine, but it’s stressful leaving him because he’s so attached to me, and of course I worry. I have to go visit my elderly dad in West Texas and I’m already stressing about leaving my old man kitty for a couple days. I’ve decided once he’s no longer with me, I’m taking a looooong break from having pets. I’m still grieving my other kitties and this one is going to leave me an emotional mess. For some people getting a new pet helps with healing from grief, but I’ve had so much loss and grief these past 7 years, I just need a good long break. You guys are making a wise decision. I totally get it.

Having a pet is a huge responsibility, and until a person is ready to accept that responsibility, they shouldn't get one. You guys are making the right decision to wait. Never let anyone tell you differently.

I think your decision about not adopting another cat for now is a very sound and thoughtful decision. Too many people adopt for frivilous reasons without recognizing that it is a lifelong commitment and then end up dumping the cat when he/ she is not convenient for their lifestyle anymore. I respect your commitment and generosity towards your outdoor cat community (Grey and the other cuties). ✊

My last cat lived to almost 20 years, but was progressively sicker his last year. It was gut wrenching. I knew I couldn’t take care of another cat again for a long time. However, I was happy to be a reliable cat sitter for a neighbour. It was a lovely way to get my cat fix without the burden. And it helped out our neighbour knowing her cats were well cared for.

I can totally understand on not getting a new cat, I haven’t had a new pet since my last cat & for me it’s basically all the logistics that make it impossible right now. Owning a pet isn’t a part time deal or something you can just do on a whim so credit to you guys for being thoughtful & thinking what’s best for everyone involved.Especially if you travel at all (let alone as you do for a month+ at a time)it would be very difficult, maybe some time later it’ll be possible for you (& me!) but you have to do what’s best for you & for any potential pet. For the time being take all the opportunities to cat sit & care for all the strays in the area, no lie literally every time I see Grey I think about that time a few years ago you saved him after he had gone missing for weeks, so lovely to see them doing well! 😻
16:02 💯 I lost my cat, whom I loved like my own child, to his awful heart condition in 2021 and our last years together weren't only financially draining, but most of all absolutely distressing and heart-wrenching. Medication 4 times a day, his pain and suffering, late night emergency visits to the vet clinic... I cried all the time and felt a soul-crushing guilt each time I left the house. I do want to give a forever home to cats who need it, I really do, but the mere thought of losing another fur baby under similar circumstances is already too much.

I can totally relate to your stance on not getting another cat. I don't comment often, I think the last time was when Beemo passed away as my cat of 2 decades had passed away that same week. The fact that they'd both gone through such similar medical journeys and how you processed your grief so similarly to me, it resonated with me, and watching this video now it looks like we still feel very much the same about it. I also want to travel more now, I've always worked remotely but stayed home because of my cat. I feel like he'd want me to go out and see the world now. I hope you can move on too, knowing that he'd want you to be happy and see family overseas as much as you'll want to. 💕

I get it. My Persian cat got kidney disease. At first I was spending all this money . Emotional decision.. I loved him so much ..I read a lot of articles on it. A couple said there is no cure and your just prolonging the inevitable.
They said just love on them and keep them comfortable.
It got to the point we finally sent him over the rainbow bridge. Cried and cried.

It's totally valid to not have another pet if you don't want one. It's very hard caring for an ailing animal, especially for multiple years. You guys gave Beemo the best life he could have had in the time you had him. There will always be more cats out there if you ever change your minds. And if not, that's valid too. 😊

I understand avoiding the heartbreak from the possibility of chronically ill cats again. When I lost my Tabby Tubbs there were lots of kitties at home (still are, they are grown now ofc, into cheeky young cats), so there was never any question to whether we'd continue to have a pet cat or not. You still have your street cats after all, so I imagine it's not a completely cat-less life after Beemo after all 🥲🥺😺😺😺

My heart still hurts from having to put down our girl Pipa.. she was sick since we adopted her, little things that kept growing until she had bad seizures everyday.. at the end she had three to four seizures a day. We took her to the doctors office every month, gave her meds, did everything possible to help her until it was time to let her go… so I totally understand what you went through and you still need time to heal and enjoy your peace. i am in berlin, germany, they sell lots of fireworks in every supermarket and once it is dark outside, it is a literal war zone. during new years eve lots of apartments and cars burnt down, because people just go crazy outside.

I get your position with regard to taking on another pet. Pets can develop all sorts of problems. My pup developed a host of medical problems in his senior years and it was emotionally stressful, financially draining, and personally restrictive. I do miss the company of a pet, and I go back and forth wanting to make that commitment again, and it's been over 1 year for me. I believe there will be a time when one knows it's time to do it again. And, if it doesn't happen, that's ok. HAPPY NEW YEAR. To the best one ever.
I totally agree with you guys. We've lost cats here and I mean ALOT and it does take a toll on your mental health. Emotionally you are so invested in these little family members and one by one they pass and lemme tell you, it's not easy every time. So with that, we made the decision of not getting more pets. We still love cats and dogs and every animal but we'll love them from afar. Its just too much heartbreak.

I completely understand how you feel about jumping back into cat parenting after losing Beemo. I have an almost 12 yr. Old ragdoll cat (whom I named after a KPop star-LOL), who is the sweetest, funniest boy ever, but after he passes (a day I dread tremendously), I don’t think I’ll ever get another cat.

Lemi is adorable! She seems like such a well mannered cat, her owners are so lucky! We recently (October) adopted a kitten, and she is giving us a run for our money. I'd never had a kitten before, the youngest was our (as a couple) first cat at 6 months and he's always been an angel, but our little kitten (4mos atm) is an actual menace, full on raptor behaviour.
I think it's super commendable that you guys came to a concise decision and are sticking to it, regardless of what anyone says. Pets enrich your life greatly, but as a fellow DINK couple... man, they really snuff out some of your freedom, especially when they have medical conditions that require constant treatment. I completely understand where you guys are coming from. My husband and I adopted a cat when we first got married, and got a dog four years later... he has made travel so difficult for us, as an international couple. None of our trips are ever longer than two weeks, because that's the longest we feel comfortable saddling someone else with the responsibility. Now that we've added a third pet to the mix, I don't even know how we'll manage to continue to travel haha.
I genuinely think you guys have made the best choice to suit your lifestyle and preferences, and who's to say whether you won't change your mind down the line, or NOT! It's y'all's life and everyone should respect that, you already graciously choose to share some of it with your audience and no one is entitled to anything from you. I am on the same boat as you guys. We lost our dog of 13 yrs about 4 months ago and he was very sick the last few years of his life. My husband and I also made the decision that we would not adopt another pet. We need a break to heal. We also love to travel and the stress of finding a sitter and the worrying even while on vacation also took a toll on us. You guys are making the best decision for yourselves and what fits within your lifestyle choices.

I absolutely adore animals but I've been living alone for many years and I'm still not ready to adopt a pet because of everything you mentioned. Frankly I think its the smart mature thing to do, where a lot of people adopt maybe not on a whim but without really thinking through everything it entails.. our regional network of shelters is absolutely full, no cages available at the moment. That really makes you think, of everyone getting rid of pets they adopted after a few years. I volunteer instead and I'm happy with that. Lemi is SO cute, absolutely adorable kitty.
I think Beemo did not want you guys to spend your first New Year without him n therefore miss him all over again. This is where Lemmi comes in to make your first transition wo him a little easier😅😢❤

Cat sitting is a great idea. I have lost 3 cats in total of my life and I agree it's not easy.
You may also think about fostering for recuses before a cat get adopted. Not sure if that's common in Korean. But many rescues in Canada operate that way.
It's called 임보(temporary foster care), quite common in Korea these days😊
Losing a cat due to illness was emotional. It took us 5 years to get another cat. Oreo came to us in September. She was a stray and estimated to be 2 years old.
Definitetly understand you! I grew up with pets my whole life and I recently moved on my own. As much as I LOVE cats, I don't need or want to own another cat for a good period of time. Same as you, I get my kitty needs fulfilled in other ways, but without the constant responsibility.

Arcane S2 was so good! (I cried so hard at the ending.) I can't get over how cute Lemi is, she's so sweet! I've always loved your Christmas village, I started one this year with what are called Julby here in Sweden. They're so adorable, I just wish they were USB-powered rather than battery-powered. I get the reticence to have another pet in the home. It's stressful to find someone to take care of our cat, I've been tremendously lucky that we can afford for me to go by myself to the US and stay a a good 3-4 weeks before my husband arrives but we don't like to burden friends & family for longer than two weeks so we always have to carefully plan our trips to make sure we minimize the amount of time we're away. Our NYE was very similar to yours, we're too old to party. Binge watching TV and eating delicious food is our idea of a good time at our old (millenial) age! Also, I hope someone at Hanil is watching because EU plugs & voltage are compatible with South Korea's and I want that humidifier!

I totally understand and respect your decision to not get another cat for a while. The emotional and financial toll was immense. When there is no insurance to cover the vet bills you can easily end up spending 20K just like you did. And that is a lot of money. I was in the same situation years ago, and I still haven’t gotten a cat again.

I think we should all be allowed to grieve in the ways that most suit our hearts, mind and lifestyle. In June 2019, we had to say goodbye to our beloved ginger cat due to cancer. He was 20 and had stayed with us since he was 10, that's when we adopted him. His loss meant a great deal to us, my heart was broken and shattered into pieces. However, the house was so empty and so after a relatively short period of time, I decided to go to our local shelter to adopt a new cat to give him the opportunity to live a better life and that's when our Merlin came to us. He's an adult cat with anxiety and other issues, but we love him so dearly that it's impossible to think of a life without him. After two years since his adoption, one summer night we found an abandoned kitten in our house garden and decided to keep her. Now, we have Merlin and Ginny and our hearts are full. ♥ One day, when you're ready again, I'm sure you'll welcome another one in your family, but for now enjoy your lives the way you want to, that is also very important. Happy New Year guys!

Happy New Year! We are a retired couple. We lost our beloved dog five years ago. He was diabetic and was on special food and insulin shots twice a day. He eventually went totally blind, but still managed quite well. When he passed away, we mourned for a long time. I completely understand your choice. Our dog cost us a lot of money too. And when we traveled we had to leave him at the vet to get his shots, etc. Also we are enjoying the freedom to come and go as we please. Will we ever get another pet? Maybe someday, but not right now.

My last cat had to be put down 6 weeks after my Mum died and it was one of the worst days of my life as she was all I had left. I adpoted my cat just before u guys lost beemo and although my cat is still fairly young at 3.5 years old i am dreading the day where i have to say goodbye to her. She is my first proper pet and i am already so attached! Just thinking about the day when i dont have her in my life already gets me teary😢
She took my heart. I might have boop her nose on my screen a couple of times because she just the cutest. She’s making me become a cat person. My dogs are looking at me and judging me I know I’m betraying them.
