I can't believe Frankie just explained living in a simulation in possibly the most understandable way you could then proceeds to say we should live like grand theft auto because of Sunday brunch. Legend.
Might be an unpopular opinion but you know what? Bless this show for having more than one female comedian on at a time. Mock the week is in its 16th season and only once have they had two female comics on. Makes me appreciate Frankie even more!
IM Methi there is an interview with Frankie I'm pretty sure after the Edinburgh Fringe Festival or something like that and he is talking to this bloke about the state of modern TV and his there aren't enough female comedians on TV that's why he is always pushing for female comedians to be on his show, I'm pretty sure if you type in "Frankie Boyle Jeremy Clarkson" the video I'm talking about will come up
No but wait, Frankie is a comic genius, but he's happy to surround himself with two regular woman panellists, as well as numerous women guests. Are you saying he's a comic genius who knows nothing about what's funny?
We're already living in a simulation. All our social operating systems; law, politics, economics, religions, etc, have been developed and run by the 1% and none of them are what they say on the label. Law, supposedly to ensure fairness and justice for all, is in fact the best legal system money can buy. Democracy, the voice of the people, splits society almost precisely in half on ideological grounds effectively neutering the voice of the people. Our currencies, supposedly to facilitate equitable trade, are created out of nothing by the 1% and then rented to us at extortionate rates and they take a cut of every trade. Land ownership, supposedly a guarantee of security for the people, doesn't exist. We can buy the right to rent the land, rates and taxes, but only down to about 6 inches and if a statutory body decides they want it you are gone. Religions, supposedly the path to a moral and righteous life, are blatant tools of exploitation. Our entire human social constructs are a lie, a simulation we are all expected to believe in. Fortunately we're starting to wake up.
Listening to the students from Harvard was a breath of fresh air. So many older Americans think that America is the best country on the planet, but it is actually officially the second worst - and that's because of virtually non-stop terrorism, no guesses for which country for which the worst IS,REALly.
We're a lot further away than a lot of people think we are when it comes to the potential for AI to challenge or revolt against Asimov's three laws. That cooking segment was freaky. Way to keep it light while sauteeing the broccolini
hisredrighthand There is no way to prove or DISprove we are in a simulation, mainly because we have nothing to compare this reality to. If this IS a simulation, then it is so perfect that there is no logical reason to deny that it is real in any case. A simulated life this complex IS life, pending proof that it is not. Sorry, just trying to take the admittedly fascinating concept seriously
ProjectFlashlight: I haven't really thought about this a lot, but at least with the way computation works nowadays, simulations nested within simulations would require infinite amounts of computational resources it seems. Unless the complexity of our simulated universe is just an illusion we're programmed to perceive. In which case you can't really trust your logical faculties or any logical arguments you come up with using them.
Let's not forget Alan Turing, one of the first designers and theorists of computers. He devised a simple test of Artificial Intelligence. You have a keyboard and a display, and so does the computer, which you cannot see. It might be a human. You askit questions,nd it sends back answers. If you are skilled enough, and you cannot tell whether you are receiving answers from a human or a machine, then the machine is Intelligent. On the other hand, if it is a human, and it seems no better than a machine, it isn't intelligent. How many politicians that you hear or see being interviewed would pass this test?
That video of the robot was actually Corridor Digital trolling the Boston Dynamics robot demo videos. They did a whole series of them using a green screen and graphics.
The Dude not for me sadly. It used to work, then Google pulled that trick that makes ads unskippable when it detects an ad blocker. Had to stop using because I frequently get 5 minute ads.
@@gundamforreal ..that doesn't sound right. If you had ad blocker then you shouldn't get ads at all. I never get them, and certainly not unskippable five minute long ads..
@@vgstb lmao not sure what you mean, my favorite comedians are Frankie, Jimmy Carr, David Mitchell, Russell Howard and many more. But your comment makes it more obvious 😁😂
One argument against a simulation is the energy cost of a redundant reality. It’s paying full price for what already comes totally free. Also, Occam’s razor cuts that idea to ribbons readily with no additional help
An orang-utan at the foreign office would at least put pressure on multinational corporations and the Indonesian government in relation to environmental abuses and violence in Borneo.
We can't afford to be blazé about nuclear war. We should be campaigning for global peace and disarmament against those who profit from perpetuating war. Make no mistake there is an agenda for WW3, Iran being the catalyst. This has been brought to light over a long period of time by reputable individuals including 4 star pentagon General Wesley Clark and many others. I urge people to investigate thoroughly and form their own opinions.
Ben Grey - For the love of shit. Give me a link so I know where you're coming from. It's intellectual lazy and dishonest on the part of anyone making a claim not to provide the qualification. If I google: "General Wesley Clark WW3" it's going to get funneled through _my_ google search algorithm and take me to websites about board games and porn, not Brietbart or InfoWars or...What Really Happened? Does anyone go to WRH anymore? _Did_ anyone go to WRH or am I just imagining all those pop ads my mother accidentally invited onto her browser? Basically, regardless of whether you're right or not - _please, for future reference_ qualify _yourself._ Don't let other people do it for you.
Naw, they're still looking pretty crazy. People who prepare for the collapse of civilization by investing in weaponry instead of learning to farm or concoct basic medicinal remedies or securing the survival of a gene-pool beyond their immediate family have told you how they think they're going to "survive" the apocalypse. You don't get a whole lot crazier than looking at the elimination of huge numbers of a fundamentally-social species and deciding the best way to respond is by killing even more of those that remain. These people don't seem to get that "Mad Max" isn't a documentary.
Robots have already replaced humans on assembly lines. The question isn't whether they will replace us; the question is will there eventually be no division of labour between humans and technology. It is entirely possible that at some point in the future robots may be capable of designing and reproducing themselves at which point we will need to ask ourselves if we have been rendered obsolete.
I would pay an ungodly amount of money for full 20+ episodes seasons of this show.
Second that.
2.5 that.
We need to petition Netflix.
the public demands it!
... If I had an ungodly amount of money.
Frankie's absurdity is as delightful as it is ridiculous. That last monologue was THE BEST!

So many good lines in this video, I just can't pick the best one. This show is awesome !

i would use the word 'sexist' very directly here

I REALLY hope this isn't the end of the series. Frankie is a comedic genius, and I've loved being able to regularly see him on TV again.
according to wikipedia it's coming back on the 29th :)

Only on the BBC would FOUR be considered a series
David Jongen ~ a case of quality over quantity?
Kowasi ~ by that do u mean: lacking the quality to increase quantity?
It's the BBC; Four is considered a network.
thanks for the upload

Surely they'll commission more episodes. This is gold.
Excellent episode thank you

Frankie Boyle is the hero navigating the maze, he is the Minotaur and he is the Maze's souvenir gift shop operator.
So... what I took away from this is ; If the world gets nuked into oblivion, turn it off then on again.
Watching this on April 4 2019 .... and its still so relevant.
June 2020 even more so!
