And after I finish Gothic 3, Ill start Gothic 2 The Night of the Raven, for the 15th time ill pass whole game... Long live Gothic !!!
There just came out the newest version of Gothic 2 The Returning :) its a Gothic2 Mod that adds almost 200 new quests and 32 new locations, sadly only in Russian voice and English text. Its freaking huge almost 300+ hours and u can also just play the normal Gothic 2 + Night of the Raven. Check it out if u want, so far i fucking love it it makes Gothic 2 a lot harder and a lot better, tons of bug fixxes and new AI and so on. Its Called The Returning in English
Dude, the only time I finished Gothic 3 i did exactly that - kill every monster, explore hours upon hours and so, just to create the most powerful character possible. By the end, I had enough mana for several meteor strikes, strength to carry the best two hander (except for demon sword ofc), dexterity to carry the best bow, and all the skills except for assassination and paladin, because I chose Adanos. Creating a god in G3 - confirmed ;)
30 seconds of G2 are better than 40 min of G3 because Gothic 2 is the best of the series possibly the best Rpg ive ever played. I think Gothic 3 is still a good game.
4:516:479:14 At low levels (below level 3) you cannot die from fall damage. 7:35 I accidentally clip the side of the mountain and a goblin gets a hit off, which has actually never happened before. At low levels (below level 3) you cannot die, but you get knocked down for a few seconds. 8:349:34 Opening the character menu to block missiles. 10:28 Killing Akascha: It is actually slightly higher DPS if you spam arrows, but it's much harder to hit him, especially when he's bundled up with those skeletons, and it's especially hard to get headshots then. Same thing with Demon of Gotha. 11:32 Selling the Barbarian Battleaxe to Wilson. Leveling Hunting to 110 to learn 'Teeth, claws and horns'. 15:31 Buying Vials and the Bloodfly alchemy formula. Both Fire Mages and the Alchemist here sell it but they are not guaranteed to have it. 15:47 Aggroing Rhobar. Relatively easy to set up so that only Rhobar is mad, but most of the time there is a bug where they don't react to you at all, so it requires some manipulation. 20:14 Leveling Alchemy to 60 to learn 'Brew transformation potions'. 22:28 Aggroing Vak, but no other orcs. This one is trickier. There are several ways to manipulate the AI here, but it's very subtle and there is some RNG involved still. Drawing your weapon will make everyone freeze, whereas just trespassing will make them run towards you first. I got as fast of a setup as you can hope for here. I take a roundabout way to the chest with the teleport stone here to avoid aggroing the wolves / ogre's / orc's. 28:26 I fail the jump onto the roof. I had bumped into a hill earlier as a bloodfly and lost a few seconds, which meant I reconverted a few seconds earlier, which in turn screwed up my stamina allocation. Normally I save enough stamina to make the jump onto the roof there easily. 28:47 Making the rest of the Bloodfly potions. 29:23 Leveling Life energy and setting up some hotkeys. 30:17 Flying straight into the Mora Sul temple. This is basically an intended skip. 30:36 This is the big trick with the Bloodflies. There is a small window where you can loot chests after you reconvert, when you shouldn't be able to because you are in combat. In Al Shedim It is *extremely* precise. I have right click (quick loot) bound to mousewheel nowadays which alleviates the problem, but only slightly. It's also not trivial to successfully target the chest when there are enemies around it and you can't see what you're aiming at in Bloodfly form. 30:47 Escaping from the temples is the other non-trivial trick in the run. I have a consistent setup nowadays for the Mora Sul temple, but Al Shedim is much worse. Even here though, the mummy came down very fast. He wasn't many frames away from hitting me. 31:36 This is arguably the only real "skip" in the run. The idea is to scoot up the wall here and then jump into the temple, but it's very finicky and seems to be almost complete RNG. You can lose basically an indefinite amount of time here. I get it first try, which again, never happened before. 32:02 The Al Shedim loot trick. This was a massive restart point in practice for the longest time, and you also have to not just die immediately afterwards. If you don't have Alternative AI turned on here you will get absolutely slaughtered, first by the High Priests, but right at the end of that short corridor, there is a Mummy and yeah, with Alternative AI and V-Sync off, if he hits you, he will instantly stunlock you and you're dead. Completely insane attack speed. 32:14 Alternative AI fixes that bug where enemy attack speed is tied to CPU cycles, so it's not nearly as deadly, but it's still very hard to get enough breathing room to be able to teleport out. I do get the fastest possible teleport here. 34:28 Casting the Summon Golem scroll, then running around the corner so no one aggroes you. Then you can run back out and hopefully everyone is aggroed on the golem. You kind of have to dig Zuben out of that crowd of dudes, and preferably push him across the hall or into one of the alcoves. 35:4237:14 Mouse wheel to blast through Xardas' dialogue. 36:56 Using the ore furnace with that same Bloodfly trick. The timing here is much more lenient though. For mobile :)
I'm impressed. So many brilliant moves and tricks. So funny to watch you transform into a bloodfly, complete a quest, get in trouble and teleport away. But I'm pretty sure you did not really bring peace to myrtana, you just made everyone angry and created chaos.
@Stonefucius The only bad thing in Alternative AI is auto-aggro of 1/2/3 units on you in fights, even if they don't have a reason, just to make game harder and more annoying.
Ah, I remember that time when I came to that north mountain town. All of the orcs in the mountain have decided to come up for some reason and have a huge battle with the citizens. I was literally playing in slideshows for a solid 15 minutes.

Man I played this game sooooo many hours, so many long and joyful playthroughs with every imaginable combination of character :D Well half of my time was spent in frustration crashing and dying without having saved for ages because of slow pc and lack of patience, and then using godmode to try and catch up with the time I lost, and then accidentally taking control of an enemy character (Ctrl + W) when trying to loot fast, and accidentally killing myself when typing kill and the target went out of view, and having to load over again and again to fix those mistakes. And then came the patches and i could play it over and over with actual joy, and without abusing any combat system like sniping from a ledge or prevent them from having chance to attack, and building the greatest character by learning fast learning as fast as possible in this game (involving travelling a lot for tablets without levelling) oh man good times!!

Holy shit I didn't remember this game to be so beautiful. say all you want about the combat system, the tricky / loose story, the bugs, the glitches, the not-being-able-to-run-this-smoothly-on-the-worlds-best-super-computer. The ingame world was fantastic, the map was so beautifully hand crafted lovely. I could loose myself in it today as much as I did when I first bought the game on it's day of release. (luckily with less superbugs due to patching now) what the guys at piranha bytes have always been thriving at, was world building. Making it from 99% to 100%. Another treasure, another den, some little secret here, another lighthearted conversation there.... I also liked the story. Well, maybe except the finals. Both, the sleeper and the dragons were incredibly bad - mostly because the rest was so incredibly good... And with G3, I never got my head around the story. But who cares, if you have moments like Khorinis in G2, the swamp camp in G1, the wolfsclan in G3... damn I miss going on a hunt with my bros from the wolfsclan.... and that music.. uhh gorgeous. incredible. amazing. Kai Rosenkranz, you're a master at your trade
I agree with the world building! I've had a conversation with my roommate studying to be a game designer and having a really cynical viewpoint of things, and we all agreed that G3 did things better than most RPGs nowadays, mainly because its world is still captivating and engaging in a good way because it's more light-hearted than most of the games nowadays. Take the absolutely successful Witcher-series. It is a great game, I admit, but to be more "mature", the only thing it does is bringing in politics and dark atmosphere with deception and, again, shady politics. In G3, there is still a tug-of-war for power between orcs and humans, which you could consider politics, but the game manages to be light-hearted BUT at the same time takes itself seriously and can be taken seriously w/o all the hurr-durr shady deceptive political drama which is crammed into most of modern RPGs, as if it would be the only way to be mature and serious and whatnot. P.S.: Playing G3 right now for the at least 15th time :D
Witcher is purpoesly made that way. Toussaint is beautifull colorful place, CD-Project did a wonderfull job. But yes, G3 did age good, and level design is on point.
I love Gothic series. G3 is a great game from era where there was no minimap, auto-path to objective etc. Sloppy programming tho - has short freezes even on modern gaming pc :)
I meant that i save the game more often than every 5 min and U played 40 min without saving at least once, not that i did speedrun in 5 min. My english is just very bad and I'm too lazy to open Google Translate :D
As a long time fan of gothic (I used to have a shitty pc when I was a kid - I used to have to wait up to 10 minutes for a game to load) I can say that what you did here is beautiful :) Cheers :)
I think I played that game in extra-hard, because I didn't realize until the near the end, that I had been poisoned by a bloodfly in the first hour. So i didn't sprint and I think my fighting with the sword was also below normal. So I played that game for a long time. What still nags me is that I didn't finish on of the first quests with the hunting of the deers. But what I like is that I finished all three (or four, I don't exactly remember) parties bosses AND did their quests. Near the end I had that Orc self healing stuff and other cool skills. It was pretty amazing and one of the most immersive games.
;) It was disease though, not poison. I forget which early game enemy afflicts it but those beasts in Nordmar at least. It affects stamina regeneration; the same effect as being in Varant during the day and Nordmar during night.
Gothic is a cursed game. When I was a kid I got it for free (Gothic 1) from a gaming magazine (yes, I'm old). It was my very first open world, and ofc it blew me away. I loved every moment of it, so much that I wanted to play the second one immediately. Internet at the time was slow as fuck, I didn't even had it at home and there weren't really mainstream websites anyway where you could check if a sequel even existed. So, one morning before going to school (first year in High School), I went to the shop asking ''When is Gothic 2 going to drop?''. The clerk was either trolling me or wasn't really ''in the know'' 'cause he told me ''next week'' for an entire month 'till I gave up. Years later, I found Gothic 2 in a bargain bin at my mall. Still excited af to play it (even tho clearly already old compared to other stuff), I bought it. That night I burned down my living room (not going into details as to how it happened), liquefying it even tho my PC survived. Fast forward as to last year, I decided to play the trilogy. Bought Gothic 1 on Steam, as a start, but I was met with a clusterf**ck of annoying steps to make it work. From official to unofficial patches, and even so I couldn't make it work. After many days it turned out the reason as to why it wouldn't start, was because the game goes bananas if it detects GSYNC and a second monitor connected. After all that, I played 20m, and never touched it again lololololol
While I do love Gothic 1-3, polish CDProject Red did pick up the idea and perfected it. Witcher III is an insane project and it does right where Jowood forced Piranha Bytes to do shit. I know that the Witcher series has nothing to do with the Gothic Series but seeing the amount of polish fans of the Gothic Series I still see a ton of influence in the Witcher Games. Gothic was a Milestone, The Witcher is another milestone getting everything right that Gothic did wrong. Greatest first person RPGs ever! Who cares about Bethesda and their fairy fancy overpolite hero stuff.
Done! This route is quite outdated as is the route in the new world record. I have completed faster runs but unfortunately I always became too preoccupied with things in life before I could get a run together worth posting. It's coming before I die hopefully ;)
To my surprise this works and it is indeed a new revelation. The animation for changing the equipped item produces similar behavior to opening the menu, which renders you invulnerable, however unlike the menu trick, you can move during the animation. There is still a window where you are vulnerable when cycling between equipped items, but this may be applicable primarily to increase survival in the temples, although you still need to stop to use the teleport stone which is the biggest conern.
Hi! You're a champion of this game. : ) I also speedrun some games and I even thought of moderating Gothic 3, when it wasn't available at speedrun.com. in july 2017. But I don't have 1.7+ version of this game, so I couldn't do some bugs you and other speedrunners use. Did you think about some other categories to this game? I would fancy running some categories with my 1.6 version, especially shorter ones. In july I thought about Xardas%, according to a video of BlackJack896 Ardea-Xardas, so I propose it. How about creating such (or similar) category, what do you think?
well i grew up with G1 to G3 with all Addons, and i have to say that it is very unfamiliar to hear the Hero in english xD I'm german and sry i prefer the german voices over all, especially the Orcs, in german they sound more aggressive than in english :D
Sneaking and opening your inventory can can let you eat/drink instantly without animation, you can easily eat 10 steaks in a matter of few seconds rather than waiting till every single is eaten, I recomend that in your next speedrun, if you are about to do it.
Xardas: Come over!

damn I miss going on a hunt with my bros from the wolfsclan.... and that music.. uhh gorgeous. incredible.
I watched it all and i was watching with joy all the time :) props for the knowledge
Thanks a lot!
31:40 what was that?? O.o
it made me chuckle so hard. It just works.
Idk that way before...
- Mom, can I have Legolas?
- We have Legolas at home!
Legolas at home: 10:29
Poor bloodfly, everyone ignore it.
"The artifacts are destroyed"
Still wears crown
It's the Crown of Myrtana ;) I don't take the time to equip the Crown of Adanos or any items after Mora Sul.
@@OverlordJoppe So the one time I skipped forward I missed that part lol.
I love Gothic series. G3 is a great game from era where there was no minimap, auto-path to objective etc. Sloppy programming tho - has short freezes even on modern gaming pc :)
31:34 lmao what the heck
Calls the tractor heck.
XDDDDDDDDD
Очень интересно было посмотреть на быстрое прохождение,лайк!
Congratulation, it's an incredible speedrun :O Gosh I never managed to even FINISH this in a dozen of years.
40 min without saving?! my best was like 5 min..
Talk is cheap ;)
I meant that i save the game more often than every 5 min and U played 40 min without saving at least once, not that i did speedrun in 5 min. My english is just very bad and I'm too lazy to open Google Translate :D
Ah, right! No worries :)
As a long time fan of gothic (I used to have a shitty pc when I was a kid - I used to have to wait up to 10 minutes for a game to load) I can say that what you did here is beautiful :) Cheers :)
oh the music! the memories! oh no no! you are a champion! wow on ver 1.75 is freaking amazing!
Bloodfly 3 😀😀
Nice and fun Speedrun, good job my friend.
It was pretty amazing and one of the most immersive games.
;)
It was disease though, not poison. I forget which early game enemy afflicts it but those beasts in Nordmar at least. It affects stamina regeneration; the same effect as being in Varant during the day and Nordmar during night.
My best game..Old memmories..Ehh (((
Well done! It's cool! And yes, I ADORE this game))
Lol Skavenger Sound like Skex in Elex..now i know which Creature is the "Skavenger" in Elex ;)( I thought the Biter, but it is the Skex) ;)
There are also Scavangers in Elex.
31:38 that was just superb!!! thx for this!!!
Очень хорошо. Молодец, постарался.
this SR just shows what an amazing game this really is
Even though I had the potions, I've never transformed into a bloodfly. I didn't know they were that fast. :)
LookaL2K haha i thought the same :)
They are like fighter ships in space. lol I used them in Montera to kill the cows without getting in trouble. Was fun.
i thought you saw my videos of gothic 3 and found it out... the video is 'Nice Secret'
Sneak + open inventory = no drinking or eating animations
didnt know you can run that fast with bloodfly :o
"run"
"sprint""fly" whatever :)
*jumps from Mt. everest*
Lemme just hydrate my body, i'll be fine.
16:40 muhahamuhahamuhaha
Pod koniec Thorus prawie wszystko zepsuł ;D
Krzysztof Paweł hahaha no xd
Minuta
🤔 🤔 🤔 NO CHEATS.... Please read the video description. 🤔 🤔 🤔
hi :D
Ur-Quan не
You beast!! Very impressive indeed 😊
orc boss taunting was brilliant :D
and left this world "forever"
I respect you you really amazed me
1:58 thats EXACTLY the sound emperor penguins make wtf i never realized that as kid
ending a game by clicking on a wall......hmmm
"All will be well" - So glad I never took the time to actually play this sequel. The prequels where amazing however :o)
nice giraffe 17:21
I would like to play it again, but on steam When i bought it mouse didnt work in this game..
Try the community patch 1.75
Good to know that even Speedrunners have lag issues with this game.
And..that was the game folks , hope u enjoyed it😅
that game was the end of it...not even talking about arcania...
Don´t mind those lags... Same problem here with 64GB of RAM
only 4 seconds in and this combat theme is already giving me diseases
great speedrun
Gothic and Witcher are third person though
Good job bro
Woah, youre amazing. I didnt even manage to finish the game in 100 hours xD Dont let you distract from the guys who think youre cheating.
i WISH THEY MADE A GOTHIC 4 .. ohh wait.
Great Video!
thats that way how you don't have to play this beautiful game
"But what's even more important .......where did this guy go...ehm....what was his name?"
0:02 he runs away
me: wait, thats illegal
you might wanna update the title to "former World Record". Still an insane run, well performed
Done! This route is quite outdated as is the route in the new world record. I have completed faster runs but unfortunately I always became too preoccupied with things in life before I could get a run together worth posting. It's coming before I die hopefully ;)
"Find Xardas"
And he actually followed the first quest
When you change equipment (between speels/bows/swords..) enemies stop run towards you, also can't hurt you, try it.
Лучшая из частей
Gothic combat system in games is equivalent to The Dark Knight in movies lmao
36:56 =))))))))
Well done !
perfect run
Gothic 1 and 2 are the best!
well i grew up with G1 to G3 with all Addons, and i have to say that it is very unfamiliar to hear the Hero in english xD
I'm german and sry i prefer the german voices over all, especially the Orcs, in german they sound more aggressive than in english :D
The hardest part of this run is actually getting yourself to play the game
it"s soo chillin
loove it
00:02 Fuck this shit I'm out xD
Sneaking and opening your inventory can can let you eat/drink instantly without animation, you can easily eat 10 steaks in a matter of few seconds rather than waiting till every single is eaten, I recomend that in your next speedrun, if you are about to do it.
Oh, yeah. I actually found this myself at some point after I made this run. Thanks for the input though!
I noticed that, but I liike the way you do respond to your comments rather than ignoring them
Thanks! :)
Very impressive!
That NICE GAME lags even 10 years after the release.
Arcania waits behind the portal
fucking burn it then!
Well done
You smells that guys, I smell Germany all over this channel
