I’m kinda 50/50 with leaks, especially in the Juice Wrld community because as a artist myself I tried to think how’d I’d feel if ppl leaked my music that I put so much time into or planning to. But as a fan, getting the leak is a W. I still remember the first time I heard “Burn” when it leaked
juice wrld com single handedly ruined selling leaks as a whole. never in a thousand years should an average juice wrld song be going for upwords of 5000 dollars. and that doesn't just apply to juice songs but for any artists.
The juice leaks are justified, he made hundreds of songs but the label is refusing to drop bc they wanna milk it as much as possible. The community is just sharing his music through leaks because it's the only way they can hear it, real justice for the music.
His label wouldn't let him drop because he was forced to push out his sad/emo songs. He had to be a character to feed a specific audience. I understand when people say he's emo rapper or sad song writer only, cuz that's what they hear. The leaks tell a different story tho.

i’m not too far in but i’m friends with a lot of people deep in the comm and i remember being in a call with some of them when that song leaked. my one friend paid $15,000 for it then it dropped 3 days later 😂😂 i mainly only listen to Juice’s unreleased songs, i just think they’re better, but i do kind of think some of the prices these people pay is absurd.

I’m a major Mac Miller fan and I listen to every leaked song I can get my hands on…if you’re a Mac fan and you only have heard what’s been officially released then there is an entire world out there waiting for you and it will truly blow your mind. He has the best unreleased discography from any artist ever. I’d go as far as to say his unreleased tracks are right up there if not better than the songs on his albums/mixtapes. It’s completely unreal. I won’t share the songs out of respect but I’ll listen to the fuck out of them. And when the time comes and there’s an official release I’ll be sure to grab 2 copies rather than 1. To show my full support. I have everything he ever made on vinyl and I’ll continue to collect as the years go on. Mac is a pure legend. People have no idea about him yet…..in due time.
yes. yes. yes. even the “unreleased” eras are just compiled from different unheard mixtapes and some from studio sessions. the OG versions off of circles are very interesting becasue it’s so much different than what jon brion put together. balloonerism is one of my top albums/mixtapes by him. rest in peace mac.

I dont think leaked music causes that much damage as some people claim in terms of the song release "losing hype" because of it. I like to imagine people who listen to leaks to be the extreme minority of music listeners while the big mainstream does not even know such a thing exists. Its like piracy with tv shows, its out there but the percentage of people that consume tv shows that way is just a few percent of the overall viewerbase

I have never participated in a group buy, but have downloaded songs after they were bought. I have collected quite a few Lil Peep leaks because of this. I don't think it is right to get leaks from artists currently working on their music. But, for artists that have passed away, I would rather get a leak of something that was in progress, then not get anything at all. I love hearing OG mixes and unfinished material to see the artist's creative process. I would rather hear it in its raw form than overproduced and changed from the artist's vision, like COWYS 2.

Honestly my opinion is hard to say. Leaks can sometimes help artists like the examples you gave. I love listening to leaks but then I sometimes feel bad if I’m listening to Juice WRLD leaks or recently with PNB Rock because these are diseased artists and I feel that they maybe didn’t want these songs out. Personally I think leaks are good, it lets people hear it early and if the community don’t like it the artist can fix it to make it better, and some leaked things are scraped and aren’t coming out so it lets the community hear what could’ve been released
I have never participated in a group buy, but have downloaded songs after they were bought. I have collected quite a few Lil Peep leaks because of this.
I don't think it is right to get leaks from artists currently working on their music. But, for artists that have passed away, I would rather get a leak of something that was in progress, then not get anything at all.
I love hearing OG mixes and unfinished material to see the artist's creative process. I would rather hear it in its raw form than overproduced and changed from the artist's vision, like COWYS 2.

Juice is my favorite artist. And in my opinion I feel like the amount of money people spend on his leaks is absolutely ridiculous.

Leaks can be sorta cool here and there for shit that’s obviously not going to make it on an album but it’s also bad when you’re trying to make something good and someone leaks it and you got all these people judging it before it’s even out/finished. Honestly leaks are like nudes nobody is supposed to see it and it’s unfortunate when your unfinished art is out there without you knowing

Honestly my opinion is hard to say. Leaks can sometimes help artists like the examples you gave. I love listening to leaks but then I sometimes feel bad if I’m listening to Juice WRLD leaks or recently with PNB Rock because these are diseased artists and I feel that they maybe didn’t want these songs out. That’s all I can say on it really. Your channel is awesome tho! Keep up the good work! :)

The leak music community really started to take off in early 2018 when leakthis (or leakedcx as it’s known now) was made. Before that it was mostly just people selling on Instagram and the music being spread to TH-cam and soundcloud
