  • Hillbilly here! On this adventure I meet up with a fellow backpacker, Paul, to tackle 38 miles from Penmar park to Pine grove furnace state park. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity had different plans for us! I hope you enjoy this video and stay tuned for many more. Thanks for watching!

Yes sir that humidity will put the hurting on you quick. I've had to make some hikes shorter because of it for sure. I'm heading out to Roan Highlands in a couple of weeks to check out the rhododendron this time of the year. Eventually I'll get out to the Dolly Sods area so I can't wait for your video of your up coming hike there.

It was a pleasure hiking with ya! Congrats on your 800 milestone. Bailing was a good call both days. Heat exhaustion is not to be messed with. Looking forward to another trip with you.

Hey Hillbilly! I was worried for a minute. It sounded like heat exhaustion was setting in fast. Glad you listened to your body and got off trail when you did. You set a great example of how to enjoy the trail while remaining safe. I shouldn't worry though. I know God keeps you and your family. Plus you've got my prayers thrown in there too my friend. Continue to stay safe, and thanks again for bringing us along on your adventures.
