I've said before: please only say where you have BEEN and not where you are going to be ... in case anyone is hoping to stalk you. In other words post your vids once you have moved on ... Very glad you were being vigilant of what's going on around you - keep safe. Keep in close contact with family also 👍👍💯💯 Very worrying, glad you found a safe campsite, there is safety in numbers, remember that. Scream your head off if attacked, use horn to signal S-O-S if possible. Correct thing to notify the Polis 👍 G-Translate is perfect for important conversations, hope it worked for you. We are glad you are safe. You handled that situation well. Chances are he was an oddball rather than a danger, but it's better to be safe. Don't let one bad experience spoil a fantastic trip. Stay safe and enjoy 😊
I'm so sorry this happened! I went through something like this so I understand you fear. You were brave to go to the police! They should have filed the complaint. It's good that you can go to a new city if you want. Safe travels!
Hello again Carly .. firstly i am so glad to see how quickly your subscribers are growing.. think i was about number 300 or thereabouts.. Love watching you & bailey on your adventures . As for your experience with the guy it's very difficult to know if this guy was going to be a threat or not .. but you used your intuition and probably did the right thing.. i know how positive you are and it wont put you off ❤ Even as a guy in his early 50s who wants to do what you do i know i will have to be vigilant and i guess that's a learning process . Really proud of you 😊
I’ve noticed there’s an awful lot of creepy people about. I’ve also noticed a lot more dogging sites about let’s go with your gut instinct, and if it don’t feel right, just move away as far as you can go maybe worth getting some plastic tubs so you can put your food in if you have to move quick and seal it. Take care now 😊
Since this happended, quite a few people have told me that dogging is very popular in Spain. A few others have had similar encounters and moved on accordingly.
Well done for listening to your gut, never ignore it.❤ That creep would have wriggled his way out if you had called the Police. You did the right thing leaving. I would leave Spain pronto!
You are a brave lady. Sorry there are weirdos out there to make life uncomfortable for you. I really enjoy van life videos as we live in Spain. Seriously considering going on the road when we sell our house in spain.good luck and stay safe.
Oh my goodness! You definitely done the right thing and like some others commented , best not to say where you’re going, only say it afterwards, hope it doesn’t spoil your adventures too much, stay safe and take care ❤️
It happened to me too, in another country. Creeps are everywhere. It's super disturbing and scary as these kinds of creatures are certainly insane and you never know what they would do. The fact he knew you saw him and kept looking and standing there is even worst. The one who was watching me left when I pulled my curtains, but he was there for hours till I noticed he was actually watching me. Absolutely creepy. Next morning he was there again. I woke up and he was there in his car. I left and stood behind him took a picture of his plate. Good that you are alert and yes, calling police while it's happening is a very good idea. Spain is a weird county. I lived there 4 years, was robbed countless of times, police never did anything. They allow crimes there, it's clear. They encourage crimes. Get out of this focked county. Yes, some coasts are beautiful, but lots of weirdness in people. I am now in Greece with my motorhome. The weather is amazing and there are no creeps. 2 months here, super safe and a breathtaking beauty. Just a suggestion. 😊
Oh I love Greece. Do you come across many other solo travellers there? One thing I have noticed in Spain, is solo travel is unusual. Most people are surprised I am alone when I rock up to campsites etc. I didn’t expect it. I wonder if that’s unique to Spain or just the time of year.
@@The-Good-Life-Off-Grid you mean parkings with prostitutes hanging around? In that case they'll be outside making themselves seen and available, not sitting inside a motorhome? No, that was a creep watching a woman.
@@TheCuriousCollective_Official yes, I saw some solo travelers. No one cares. It's not strange. I saw some group of solo women who met through Facebook or some such and now travel together as a pack. Not my thing but if someone needs company can find. I like my solitude, but like to have people around, my neighbors now told me they just came from Spain and it was very crowded with campers. I never considered going there, although I have friends and would be cool, but the crime I endured and witnessed...a big no 😁 (btw my friend and her brother were brutally beaten for no reason coming home at night in Barcelona , by police!! And that happens a lot there. Crazy country really.
@@TheCuriousCollective_Official also - almost all these videos of vans broken into are in Spain - and boy why am I not surprised 🤣 Yes - Greece is just Wonderful 🥰
I'm so sorry this happened to you. I got my daughter a really powerful personal alarm and I might get her a good spotlight even to shine on things/people during the day if they look suspicious. I hope this doesn't put you off good luck with your travels
Glad you're ok Carly and little Bailey safe from her 'acrobatics' bless.... you did absolutely the right thing, very vigilant, sadly a necessity for women travelling alone... great you have the famalam keeping an eye out for you too ... loving your journey and Baileys too , oh so cute 🤗...look after each other and stay safe 🙏
It totally SUX dosnt it when we as women have to be afraid of things most men wouldnt even give a second thought to! I was followed in broad daylight on a cycle track by a river. It was terrifying and it almost put me off doing things alone. BUT, I decided No way was any male going to scare me into giving up the things I love to do!! Keep your chin up, stay safe, youve got this!
Well done. You made all the right moves to make yourself feel secure. Yes, you figured out that calling the police might have been better too, but that is a hindsight view. Most importantly, you are rightly not letting it affect your plans. Good video 👌💙❤️
Loving the videos and Bailey. A tip I often give lone girl travellers, get an old pair of mens boots, and leave them by the door or on the dash, to repel the weirdos.
You did the right thing I think. I hope this doesn’t spoil your adventure too much. It’s such a shame though isn’t, all the people you’ve met on your travels in this one’s ruined it. I think the police in the UK would have taken it much more seriously. Let’s hope the next video’s a much happier one all the best to you 👍🏻
It was only a minor event in this trip as a whole. Sometimes things like this bring out the best in humanity too. Everyone at that campsite and many people since have been really great at looking after me.
Unbelievable that you have to deal with all of that nonsense, bloody hell you just want to enjoy yourself without feeling uncomfortable , unfortunately one tends to get not nice people everywhere which doesn’t make life easy , take care you .
There's a camp site in le pinnet? Just as you come into la marina old town lovely beaches for you to walk along. so sorry you had to go through that. But its a learning experience. The campsite you went to was proper gated and had security staff. I wonder if that says something about the area. take care
@@TheCuriousCollective_Official tbh - he was probably waiting for you to go off somewhere so he could try and steal from the van. Could be worth some sort of alarm fitting to detect smashed windows.
Oof! what is wrong with men like this? As a female I am finding that I have to be sooo self aware, take extra precautions when going out alone, never walk anywhere at night, change my journeys, inform family and friends where i will be and where I am travelling to - recently I had to start drivig to work (even though where I work is a five minute walk) because I start work at 5a.m and was walking there until I was followed by a creepy man. I don' think many men realise just how much women have to put up with.
You need to manifest how to pronounce names of places - it's easy as they have written them in English letters to help with the enunciation. ie: Elmira is el my rah.
I recently read a newspaper article that stalking is very common for women doing the Camino de Santiago. You’re not near that? But maybe its common in other parts of Spain too.
No, it wasn’t near there but I have since heard that there are a lot of dogging places on the coast so he could have been looking for that sort of thing
@CuriousAboutAdventure Carly...As someone else has said "Do not tell 'us' where you are at the time you're there" and don't tell us your exact destination. Post your videos when you've left an area. I would also get paranoid, but it's probably just a bored curious business owner handing out flyers or something. He might be thinking whats that odd van doing parking outside. But you did the right thing following your instincts if he was causing alarm.
it is the risk I take travelling alone as a female. I take precautions accordingly as it wouldn’t have happened if I had someone with me or if I was male. It’s just one of those things. I’m all good, this all happended a couple of weeks ago now.
Another way to handle this situation is to blatantly film him stalking you. He thinks he’s invisible. Show him he’s not. Do a TH-cam Live, or Facebook Live and walk directly at him, with the camera pointed at him. Talk out loudly and state that you’re doing a live transmission and that his face all over the internet as a stalker. It’s scary, but it’s one way to stop him. Prove to him he’s anything but invisible. Plus, you’ll have recorded imagery that clearly shows his face, how tall he is, what he’s wearing, including his shoes, what he’s carrying, etc.
Yes, that is something else that crossed my mind after it happened actually. I probably still would have moved on, but I wouldn't have hurt to have made it obvious that I was recording him
@ , yep. Always a good idea to move as soon as you realize you’re being tailed. Too bad that a$$hole had to ruin something so neat. I love the adventure you’re on. 🥰

Everything happens for a reason. My Mum is in spirit and a sign I get from her regularly is sunflowers. There was a sunflower on the desk at reception on that campsite.
Thats because a man wouldn’t worry as much about being attacked by him whereas most women know that a man can easily overpower them, either then or later, and engaging with them could put them in more danger!
I think you’ve over thought it tbh, he was probably interested in the English plate, just a nosey man! Good thing is you,ve got wheels just move and move on in your head.
