Thanks for your video review, it is most informative. Can you elaborate more on how to create the li-ion cell pack? You seem to have a tiny chip on top. what is that used for?
Also I like you bench power supply, maybe you can make a video on how to set one up

A simple 2S or 3S pack requires that you connect them in series with nickel strips using a spot welder. Use a BMS and connect the sense wires to the ends of the cells. Solder a barrel connector to the load (P+/P-) terminals on the BMS and you have a battery that you can connect a load to and also charge via the barrel connector.
Here it is. You'll need an AC->DC power block to drive it. If you want to use the full 50V, a 48V e-bike battery charger will work.

Hey mate love the vid, module looks greaat! Quick questions, if this requires 8v and i would like 4s worth of current (from 18650s). I would need 2 sets of 4 18650s in series. That are then wired together in parallel? If this is the case how do i work out what bms i need to get, will all bms communicate with this module ?? Really love your content, cant wait for your channel to grow and look forward to what else you can teach us all in the future.

Yes... 4S or 5S is better. It's all about voltage and NCR18650Bs (for example) cans deliver 2C current or almost 7A.
A simple 4S protection BMS ($5) should be fine. Better still.. a balanced charge BMS.
      Happen to sell these..

Slightly overkill on the current but will work.

@@crazytom your a legend tom, thanks for getting back to me so quick! Ive worked out the device i have doesnt have quallcom communications for qc (lacks the usb pins). If i just need a straight 5v 2.5a am i better off grabbing a buck down dc-dc?. Or is there minimla potential for the qc 3.0 to fluctuate voltage WITHOUT those handshake pins? Its my understanding without any handshake or comunication the chip in the module defaults to 5v 2a. How do those numbers sit with you ? (Someone whos is knowledgeable, has the device and the means to test it)

@@rilesmcgapp5256 Yep... that will work no problem. Can't recall default current but 5V is correct.

The IP6505 looks very interesting, l am looking to build a cheap powerbank for my 5v phone and 9v tablet, this could be a nice cheap solution,
Have you come across any modules that deal with the One Plus 'sprint' 5v 4A protocol?
Just subbed, I like the simple, accurate, no B. S. approach

No.. not so far and I expect to see more "proprietary" Asian fast chargers now that Qualcomm's secret sauce has been emulated.

Would be good to know if it can do 12V / 2A and can it sustain this for several hours without overheating

      No, 24Watt are.to much. Max. 18W for 12V that means 12V/1.5A

If we connect 4 such pcb modules to a input of 20 volts 5 amps (100 watts) in parallel.
What is the max load that we can draw at once individually from all the modules connected to some load.
    Plz reply
