The website still has A LOT to go on it, there is a lot of dead links and empty space and even some 'sample stuff' from the template I bought, but if you'd like to look at how a sample recipe will look, here's a link and feedback is always welcome :)

I received my first hamper from redbank last Saturday. I was really impressed and the people running it were awesome too. Thanks for getting me on too it 😊
Yay! I'm glad you found them :D
Hey Nyssa🥰
Amazing hamper & extras for $78!!!!! They are starting putting limits on eggs down here, only two dozen limit. So two trays is great. My chooks are totally off the lay too.
Thank you for the hamper vid🥰
@@karenlauder9768 I heard that, I might have to grab eggs at a few places! I want to do some bulk English muffins etc..
Growing children definitely equals more food eaten. I remember when my brother was a teenager and could eat a half of a kilo of pasta in one sitting. Or have half a dozen sandwiches. I swear his legs were hollow, I could never figure out how he could possibly eat so much. My parents made him start contributing to the food bill when he started working because he ate so much.
Thats a fantastic haul for $78!! Hubby chose well on the items selected. Not only are your kids growing but in winter mine generally ate more so thats probably why you have run out of certain things a bit quicker. Thanks for sharing 👍
I definitely think it is a combo of getting older and the colder weather!
I used to say, when my children were teenagers and the boys growing up to 4 inches a year, that I was finally seeing value for my grocery money!
Quite a lot of yummy stuff! Hope it will carry you till hubby comes home. Love that you are a quick talker (I am too) I watch you when I am in the kitchen and you make me work a bit faster! 🤣🤗
Hehe, I have had a lot of people complain about the speed, but I just can't slow it down, if I concentrate on it, I do slow down for a bit, but then its even more noticeable when I get a run on again lol!
I love seeing what you get in the food hamper. It really is a bargain. Really wish we had them here.
Another great hamper video. I love seeing what you get. I think the produce is amazing. Also, can’t wait to see what paths you’ve created on your property. TFS.
One of them is so we can back the car in with the big bales of hay for the chickens, will be so good!
Hi Nyssa. I can't believe the amount of things you get from the Aberdeen Pantry for $50.00.. It's incredible... kids eat more in winter and as they grow into young adults...
Whatever you do Nyssa you always use everything and make incredible meals for your growing family.... can't wait for the next video of your new rooms to your home with the news paths etc.. . Also can't believe that I have found time to watch this when you post... 😊
Great video as usual Nyssa. Hope you are feeling better than your last video. The amount of food children can eat during the different growth spurts is amazing. When my 3 boys were at home it was ridiculous during their teens. I never bought fizzy drinks, crisps, sweets or other things like that. Everything was cooked from scratch and that’s what they learnt to do. None of them were overweight as they were outside burning off so much energy. When our eldest was 21 he bought his first house and he said that the bill that worried him the most was the food bill 😂😂 every Sunday the meat for the English traditional roast was hidden until it came to carving because otherwise there would probably just be a bone left on the plate. Granted all their mates used to come for Sunday dinner but it was a time we all thoroughly enjoyed. Have a good week.
You got a great variety. I’ve been enjoying all your videos. I don’t always comment but I’m here!
Thankyou! :)
Another great haul from the pantry! Such a great opportunity for those fortunate enough to get them!
The hamper contains lots of good stuff once again! As the two sons were growing up, a lot of food was consumed - most of it homemade.
Great Aberdeen Pantry haul.
Always enjoy your videos, great value for the hamper. Yes kids eat more in winter plus as they get older 🥴😁
Great hamper! I always enjoy seeing what you get
Its amazing how much kids eat ! They seem to always be hungry ! Great hamper the courgettes and avocado look lovely and fresh x
The veg are super nice looking this month! Though the pigs got out yesterday and we had to use some of the zucchini to coax them back in lol, so sad.
I think the age increase from last year to this has been significant eating wise, and will only get more and more, I think prior to this because the smaller boys were so young it just wasn't such a noticeable increase!
@OurSmallFootprint yes I don't know where kids put the food ! I've tried to increase protein but that can be expensive x
Wow that’s probably more like $200+ worth of food. Would be awesome if these food pantries were more widely available in Aus.
We are very lucky to have access!
Yay! Another great video. Hi Nyssa great to see you & glad you're feeling better. I'm so amazed at all you do, dear lady & i know w kids you push yourself a lot as we ladies often do! Thanks for sharing & take care! 💞🌈🌹
Great haul for $78.00 🎉🎉
Always amazed at the variety and value of the hampers 👏👏👏As always a pleasure to watch ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Love from the UK x
Always thrilled to see a new video! I am always sending positive vibes Nyssa, Take care.
Thank you! :D
Love the video, it must be a blessing getting the hamper to tide you over till you do the main food shop look forward to seeing that food shop ❤
Always lovely to have that influx of fresh fruit/veg and a few extra things to add into the rotation :)
Another great video Nyssa. Those hampers are awesome. 😊
Another awesome hamper!!
Lots to help us get through! :D
That's a great variety from the pantry this time.
Wish we had something like that. Kids eat more as it gets colder.
There's a lot of them around, but sometimes its hard to find them without knowing someone else who uses them.
Definitely something I'm seeing more of this year with the kids being that bit older and more active during the colder days etc!
Thanks for sharing
Hey Nyssa! always fun to see what's in the hamper this month. That was a really good haul!Take care TFS!!!❤
Good hamper
Hi nyssa, Love your hat looks so cosy. That hamper for 50 dollars is very good isn’t it,good value. Take care ❤️🇬🇧
It's always great value!
I knit this so many years ago, it is so stretched out and faded, I really want to knit another one to replace it, but it was so many hours work lol.
I find that the colder it gets, the more food disappears
I am definitely feeling that this year, I haven't really noticed it so much other years, but I was just saying maybe it is because of the age the small boys have finally hit, they're 9/10 now, that pre teen age, where food increases anyway!
@@OurSmallFootprint when my two boys hit 13 - 14, I swear my food bill doubled
@@TracieL1234 Yeah, its going to get worse *sob* lol
sounds like if you are going to be stretching things out regularly to 8 or 9 weeks that you may have to start taking the trailer with you every time, i know my 3 seem to eat more in our winters so It always seems to push our budget up. unfortunately though i'm in the northern hemisphere so winter and christmas are at the same time
Yes, I was just discussing that with Darryl, I don’t think I could fit 8/9 weeks easily without the trailer :s
@@OurSmallFootprint i wonder if you take the trailer if you could take the chest fridge and the jackery so you can bulk buy more meat and veg or would that be much?
@@craftedbykittens hrmmm, you're not supposed to turn fridges on for 30 mins after moving them, so I wonder if turning it on/off while travelling/stopping starting, would be an issue, I'd imagine compressors in trucks are made differently and are more used to that kind of issue! I'd like ot buy a couple more big esky's good quality ones, but they're expensive, you can get some almost as big as our fridge mind you though lol.
Another good pantry haul! I'm sure it will help out quite a bit until your next shop. And I can't wait for the planning video, as I always enjoy hearing how you think through things. Do you think if you can get the food quantities stable to account for larger kids with larger appetites and the change of season, you'll keep extending your shops to 9-10 weeks?
The plan originally was to make it to quarterly/12 weekly, but its storage that is the main issue for that, the less I spend on travel, the cheaper the groceries end up being! But we'll just have to see how we go.
Always great content
Hi Nyssa. Do you ever go to Twin Rivers pantry at Eagleby when you’re in Brisbane? It would be easy to visit on your way home. They have tins of corn kernels for 50c, chick peas and lentils for 25c at the moment. They always have some type of cheap meat and fresh vegetables too. And free bread. I just got about 50 free apples and stewed them. Yum! Well worth visiting. I love watching what you do with bulk food and the variety of different things you can come up with. Regards Lisa.
There's a few places down there I should try to visit, but to be honest, I just can't make myself go more places lol, but there's always the risk of not buying something at my usual place and thinking I can get it somewhere else and then not being able to and having to make yet another stop if you know what I mean!
I love your Toboggan!! Did you crochet or knit it?
It's knit, I love it, but it is many years old and very very stretched out, if I bend forward it tends to slip over my eyes lol. I want to knit another one, but it was a very long winded project lol.
@@OurSmallFootprintI’m going to see if I can crochet one. I just love it!!
@@stoneshillhomestead2569 The pattern was from ravelry, skeleton key tam it was called I believe!
Fantastic value
Wonderful service to your family 😊
Looking into this service for WA -any links?
Thank you for a very informative video 👍🇦🇺
I've tried to find a similar service in WA before and haven't found anything quite the same, Food Bank and 'The Pantry' all have food hampers available, but they are on a 'needs' basis, so you either have to be referred or be on Centrelink etc, whereas we are lucky that ours is available to anyone, not everyone who needs the service can 'prove' that they need it so I think its wonderful that it is accessible by all.
❤
I just got a hamper from food bank dalby it has gone down hill new manager mean less food.
I think a lot of them are struggling to get the quantity they used to, because there are more and more of them using the same resources :S
@@OurSmallFootprint I've been to loads and fishers but there hampers are $60.00
@@michelle10261 I used to grab a loaves and fishes one when I did fortnightly groceries in Toowoomba, it’s always a bit hit and miss
Do you ever get snow?
No, it warms up too quickly in the mornings, so it was about -2 when I got up this morning, but once the sun comes up the temps climb pretty quickly. We do get some frosts, but not actual snow. It's a very arid/desert style climate
@@OurSmallFootprint Well that sucks to get the DANG cold but no snow to play in!
Hi Nyssa, do you have any siblings? If so what do they think of your life style?
My sister lives in Canada with her partner and their kids, this is definitely not a lifestyle she would choose lol, we are very opposite! :D
Why don't U buy chicken in bulk at Costco as see it is $5-99 per kg ..buy a box of it...❤❤❤the Farmers Wife Homestead she has some good recipes for big families...she is in NZ...
But she shreds her zuc it goes further big time...😂😂😂😂😂
Chicken isn't that cheap at costco unfortunately. The breasts are 9.99kg and thighs are 11.49kg, I do buy it from there, because it is still cheaper than a lot of places, but yeah :S. I shred a lot of zucchini for the freezer to put into a lot of dishes, but I do like it sliced up in things too :D
Thanks for the video. You always pop up when least expect it. I am wondering what crafts your children are interested in because I have to declutter my office/sewing/junk room. Let me know.
Sonnet will do almost anything lol, she has requested more origami paper of me for this shopping trip hehe, the only thing we've struggled with is yarn work, like knitting/crocheting... I just cannot get her to put the time in to master it lol. The boys love drawing, any and all types of drawing and painting!
Apollo is more into constructiony stuff, he makes costumes out of boxes etc or things that move etc.
Surreal is into drawing and writing mostly :)
Got everything but drawing needs. Lol. Thanks
