    Teri Garr even then could stop traffic. Kept a low profile recently though. As for this show, may not have lasted long but at least showed Mr. Berry for the multi-talented performer he rarely got to show anywhere else.

    Two years before he wowed the Brady Bunch as Ken Kelly.

    The (literal) running gag I remember most about this series was the weekly award Ken gave to "Mr. Steve Watson" [Martin] for "The Best Chase". Steve would always refuse to accept the award, Ken would try to force him to accept it, and off they'd go into a pre-recorded outdoor chase sequence...

    I remember watching this program. I really liked it, and I was sorry it was canceled. At the end of the last show, Ken Berry announced that if anyone wanted to stop the cancellation, all they had to do was send $25 billion to the ABC network. I guess no one sent it in.

    Oddly enough, Steve Martin today looks like the people in the audience.

    I always thought of Ken Berry as TV's version of Bobby Van- amiable, talented, versatile guys who could do comedy or drama or song & dance with equal ease, but who somehow flew just under the radar of stardom. I remember seeing this and being amazed that Capt Parmenter from F Troop could dance so well.

    I always thought Mr Berry had an action hero/Tarzan in him. He was handsome and athletic....

    Summer replacement for Sonny & Cher. I remember watching it and loving it. Cheryl Stoppelmoor later changed her name to Cheryl Ladd.

      @RusstheTroubadour 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not that it matters but that would've been impossible because this aired on ABC and Sonny and Cher was on CBS.

      @@RusstheTroubadour Well, touche. I could not find that info in any source about the show, so I had to look up the 1971-72 TV lineup. I was way off--it wasn't even concurrent with S&C. It was on from 10-11 on Saturday night in the summer of 1972. I had thought it replaced a variety show--but no. It replaced "The Sixth Sense" with Gary Collins, which had replaced "The Persuaders" with Tony Curtis and Roger Moore. I remember watching the latter and really liking it.
      Anyway, it competed in that time slot with "Mission Impossible" and "NBC Saturday Night at the Movies." I watched a lot of TV back then, but I was surprised at the number of shows I had never seen--or heard of! Putting aside UHF, they really managed to pack a lot into 3 channels.

    With a cast like that it's a shame the show didn't do better...
    The harsh makeup on Teri and Cheryl makes them look much older than they actually were.
    That must be the only theme song to mention Anna May Wong.
    Steve Martin getting his Roxanna jokes in early.

    This was brutal!! I’m going to assume that all the comments are written by people over 70 years old! To each their own. He’s a real song and dance man it seems.
    If he were alive it would be interesting to see him split the billing with someone like Cardi B.

      Yeah, it's pretty bad, and I love Ken Berry. He's kind of a straight-laced, laid back personality which somehow makes this cartoonish, bad acid trip looking thing even more weird and random. I'm old enough to have seen it in 1972, but it's bizarre even for then.

    That Ken Berry annoys the heck outta me. He's such a dork in this show, If i would have been in the audience I would have went onstage and just smacked him hard. That first number he does rates a smack in his bonehead.
