I'll never stop saying it. Doctor Ramani has been extremely helpful for me. I will be forever Thankful for her. I pray more and more therapists/Doctors out there become more educated on this.

And when it gets really bad is when you came from abuse and marry abuse, and then God forbid you get sick. This scenario was insurmountably destructive to me my sons and to me so much so that it is a miracle any of us made it out alive.

You nail it again Dr Ramani. You are saving my life. I am healing from a narcissistic relationship but can take it back to my mother and heal that as well with your guidance. You are so wise

My childhood image of relationships was so warped that when I saw the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" I seriously couldn't understand why people were mad at Jack Nicholson's character. I thought he was just behaving normally, then they put him in an insane asylum! Needless to say, I went on to marry a narc for 20 years.. Now, I live with a cat. Safer that way.

Wait, what???? I haven't seen it since I was a kid, and I also thought they had accidentally put a normal person in there.... Omg

I am 61 and after a lifetime of narcissistic abuse as the designated scapegoat- family, " friends ", colleagues, bosses, social groups, partners- my body has broken down. I dont expect to survive to 70 and I dont want to.

How about shifting your life's focus from scapegoat to conqueror? My journey has not been as long as yours, but after decades of narcissistic abuse, I'm determined to heal and give myself everything I need to feel safe in my mindbody. I Will speak truth, respectfully, whether people accept or reject it. But I will be the person for myself that no one can be for me. I've also cut out every narc from my life, including my mother and am not interested in a romantic relationship. I focus on healing my nervous system and people have been commenting on how good I look. It is well worth it.

The stress of narcissistic relationship makes it difficult to exercise ,going to doctor or take care of ourselves.
