I'd imagine the film Zimmer's talking about at 13:33 is X-Men: Days Of Future Past. It had a preview at Comic-Con that used "Time" from the Inception soundtrack, which they got away with since it was an exclusive for the Con audience and not intended for release. As Zimmer says, that preview made anticipation for the film go from "it's okay" to "oh, it's great!" so they wanted a similar piece of music for the final film, which ended up being "Hope (Xavier's Theme)". Of course, Zimmer went on to score an X-Men film himself a few years later with Dark Phoenix, which is probably "the one that got away" he's talking about at 20:40.
