- Star Wars: The Acolyte
The Acolyte has finally concluded after seven long weeks! And it was just as awful as it was anticipated to be. Definitely the Worst Disney Plus Star Wars Series by far. And now we have the final Disney Star Wars ShiIIs defend video for The Acolyte. It's crazy because the people who love this show... REALLY love this show. As you will see in the video, they go to incredible lengths to Defend it. Insisting they are not paid by Disney (false), Going after real Star Wars Fans, Dismissing the fact that it breaks canon, claiming it's better than the prequels and EU, Defending DEI, and BEGGING for a season 2. Which at this point is most likely not going to happen. Had a blast covering this series, thank you to all who have been watching, old and new!!! Thanks for checking out this video. If you have to say something like that while on camera in front of your viewers because your sensitive to being called a "shill", it means those statements are fact. Plus, we were literally shown proof of them getting PAID with free gifts.

The writing, the acting, the visuals and just about everything else were absolute garbage. Plus before the show even came out, Disney basically said "this isn't for straight white men," which is why I didn't watch the show.
3. "This is classic star wars/It's better than the prequels and EU". Oh heck no. This piece of trash (the acolyte) doesn't come anywhere close to Classic Star Wars, the Prequels, or the EU. 4. Who cares if it breaks canon/continuity.

@@Philthorn Agreed. People criticize the dialogue, but Star Wars has always had wooden dialogue. George even referred to himself, as "the king of wooden dialogue." He's aware and embraces it. "I don't like sand" is better than, "Somehow, Palpatine returned." People criticize the CGI, which is fair, to a point. The Prequels used more miniatures than the Originals did and TPM had less VFX than TFA. They still used a bunch of Practical Effects in the Prequels, which is often overlooked by the haters. People criticize the lightsaber duels, which they call overly choreographed, among other things. I'd rather have the spectacle of the PT duels over the baseball bat style of the ST. Any other thoughts?

My favorite scene in Phantom of the Menace is when they're leaving Tatooine, and Darth Maul almost runs over Anakin in his pursuit of Qui Gon and Obi Wan. Showcasing his single-minded and ruthless nature. It was just a small moment, but it was a great intro. I don't think they have a favorite moment, considering they wanted to see a guy's butt. Almost as if those defenses serve as an ultimate shield from criticism, that is given, no matter the situation over and over again. Personally, I see the whole situation as an episode of 'Seconds from Disaster' show. The only thing, that lacks is a dictor telling to unravel the clues and find out at which moment the franchise started to collapse and count down those 'final seconds from disaster'.

I found the writing to be lackluster and the characters motivations and actions incongruent with how an actual person would act (murdering your father figure of years over a revelation from moments before, said father figure not explaining the your mother was in the process of absorbing your sister into smoke and killing her to kill them, etc)

It's one thing to have an off spin show or movie to tell it's own story individually. But when you're trying to tie the show or movie into the established lore, you end up breaking it than fixing it. It’s an objectively bad show. Almost all people who hate the show dislike it because of bad story telling, bad acting and huge plot holes. Thank you for bringing up the canon being ruined. Cause that's what the Acolyte did, the Kenobi show, the sequel movies, basically nearly anything that Disney Star Wars crapped out of their butt. It shouldn't be disregarded at all, and that these people don't care about it is baffling to me.
And the EU is 1000× better. It's not perfect, but at least it had Jedi Master Luke Skywalker with a great order than him being a failed hermit drinking green milk out of a space manatee. Even had way better female characters than Rey, Osha, Mae, and freaking Reva

They hardly ever speak on the story, and characters arcs. Hardly ever see them speak about how that choice character A made matches with how they been portrayed. Or how what’s going on is contradictory.

Okay, so they aren't the deep dive types, me neither when it comes to star wars and other franchises where you have to read a billion books, comics, etc., but at least keep up with the cinematic cannon. Even I did a double take when characters showed up when they shouldn't have.
