The title says First Ladies but some listed are daughters, nieces and even daughters in law! C’mon people change the title or get your information correct.
Not all presidents had living wives so their daughters or close female relatives became the formal hostesses of the White House. Only later was the title of " First Lady" coined. Look it up.
Some of the presidents were widowers or never married. Other women in their families (daughters, DIL, nieces) performed the first lady duties during their presidencies.
All these women served as " first ladies" to men who were widowers or not married. They did the same duties as a first lady would do.
