I can’t believe Gordon Lightfoot isn’t included here. One of the most influential musicians of the late 20th century. Really?!
HE. WAS. A. SINGER. NOT. AN...ACTOR.
@@gerry.shafer6101 They included David Crosby.
They listed Gordon Pinsent. He's supposed to represent all Canadian Gordons.
@@gerry.shafer6101 Not all of them were actors like Pat Robertson, the host of The Price is Right, Sinead O’ Connor, and some others, even athletes. It also says artists, not actors.
@@marcaribe5084 I would not included Robertson.
You missed the biggest star of all; my father, Anthony L. January 25, 1931- December 11, 2023.
He was definitely a huge star to his family and friends. R.I.P., Dad.
I pray my parents reach their 90's. Celebrity deaths don't leave an impact on me. They are not the people we always see on screen. Just a character they play. Family, now them, we know. Their true character is what we love about them. Good parents shine like the sun to us. When that sun is gone, its an emptiness that cannot be filled. Sorry for your loss. On a side note, his life is in God's hands now, and God is a God of the living, not the dead. Meaning your dad will live again.
Well put. Thank you.
@@truckermikemct1Sorry for the loss of your dad.
My sincere condolences! 😢. I lost my dad a week later, on December 18th. 😢
So, sorry for your loss but, remember he’s now your Angel up above and will be watching and looking down below on you and, your family, God bless you and, all your family, as well as his friends!
It’s like watching our whole life passing before us so many faces we loved may they rest in peace 🙏
Amen.
For us they remain fixed in time. It aches to realize they are gone.
Well said.
This video is amazing, do you feel the same as me?
Thank you for this tribute...much better than what the Oscars have ever produced.
This video is amazing, do you feel the same as me?
@@HollywoodInsiders402Yes, I do.
May they all rest in peace!
This video is amazing, do you feel the same as me?
The two I will miss the most, are Cindy Williams who's beautiful eyes I fell in love with as 14 years old when I saw 'American Graffiti' and Richard Moll, who never failed to make me laugh when watching 'Night Court'. Gone, but never forgotten.
Bull from Night Court. 👍
I'm 6'5"; he was 6'8", both got teased for being too tall.
American Graffiti is one of my favorite movies! And before you ask, no, I am not the Ronny Howard who played Steve Bolander. Happy New Year!!!
I didn't know Richard died, terrible
Totally agree with you.
I loved watching Laverne and Shirley, and Night Court. I miss them both.
Respect to all and to every human being who died during 2023.
Mein gelebte Mama 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢2023 💔💔
My husband.❤😢
março 2023 ! ❤️🇵🇹
It is amazing how long people lived who were born in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s as opposed to the 1960s and later decades among celebrities. Something went wrong even with advances in medicine, etc. I was born in 1941 so my time is nearing. Thank you for this presentation. It was a nostalgic journey
Remembering the actors and musicians who enriched my life as they did others.
Awwe, don't say that- here's to hoping that you're gonna be around a long time yet. 🙏🏿
Most of those born in the 20s and 30s are already gone.
Few surprises here, just wondering why we don’t hear about this, sad 😢
Might be more to the drugs screen in the 60/70/80s
Yes. They didn't make human beings like they used to. The older generation was a stronger lot. Then the baby boomers who were supposed to live until 100, did too many drugs and other excesses. The generations after the boomers- not sure what's up with them.
Lisa Marie Presley is in her father's arms once again
That was BEAUTIFULLY said!!
Stay blessed....
And her sons too.
@@Diamondmine212Lisa Marie Presley only had one son.
Surprised she passed on. She wasn't very old, still in her 50s.
Nice tribute to all our lost stars. I am surprised you missed Gordon Lightfoot (November 17, 1938-May 1, 2023).
Gordon had been missed a few times in tributes.
RIP Gordo.
Also Robbie Robertson and Gary Wright.
@@thomascollins1739 I forgot about Robbie, major artist.
Yes I loved his music so glad he was around.
@@kthstefani I'm just hearing about it now for the first time. Suzanne Somers too.
Thank you for including Mr. Tom Smothers on this list. I recently watched another video like this, but they hadn’t included him, probably because he just passed away.
I wish everyone a very happy, safe New Year in 2024 😊❤
Thanks for including kamar as well
I didn't know Tom died. It didn't make headlines, He was great
youtoo hun xxxx
All my childhood stars from the 70's and 80's are passing away..😢...awesome video, thank you!!
Last minute deaths that aren't included are Tom Wilkinson, Cale Yarborough, and Shecky Green. May everyone in this video rest in peace. Thanks for making this video.
Cale Yarborough. You'd never guess if you didn't already know that he was a Nascar stock car driver in the 60s and 70s, because he looked like a farmer. 😅
Missing also was not only our Canadian musical icon, Mr. Gordon Lightfoot but influential actor, Mr. John Ainston.🙏
Who?
I think you meant Mr John Aniston ( Days of our lives/ Victor Kiriakis& Jennifer Anistons father
Maybe you mean John Aniston? If so, fairly sure that he died in 2022. But don't quote me! 😊
We also say farewell to those in the wide world of sports that entertained us and have left us during the year.
Also, a fond farewell to all of our relatives, friends and pets that we've lost this year.
Thank you for being in our lives and will always be remembered. RIP
Yes I confess the pets rank high on being missed.
Thank you :( 2023 was a rough year of losses for me and just bad times altogether. Here's hoping 2024 is better ♥
Thanks for that comment about pets we lost…..
Pets of course
RIP Lara Parker, the stunning and intriguing sorceress Angelique from “Dark Shadows”❤️
She was the best witch EVER!! When she cursed Barnabas he knew it. I remember running home from school to watch Dark Shadows every day. She will be missed.
@@incog99skd11 OMG the episode where she cursed Barnabas after he shot her. She spoke with such vitriol that everyone could feel that her anger and loathing would truly span the ages of time until time was no more. My fave scene ever‼️

Half of these, I didn't know, died. Used to reply on who magazine they had the notices in the back page.
It always pains me to see people younger than me passing away.
It makes me feel very grateful to be alive, because there's plenty of reasons I shouldn't be.
And to my sister mary who passed july 26,2023 she was my shining star! I miss u so much dear sister!😢😢😢😢
My deepest condolences
💕
So sorry for your lost , I lost a sister too 😢
God bless them one and all. Thank you for remembering them.
Heartbreaking to see those born post-1950 passed away, far too young. I made it through June. So many young people...
They left out Naomi Judd! A bright light of Kentucky who became a blazing star in Nashville. I felt her loss in my bones
She passed in 2022
@@lindacave3135 You're right. Thank you. Years seem to run together, I guess, since Covid hit the World, but I still feel the sadness of the loss of Naomi Judd.
@@USAFmedicVET I understand how you feel. The loss of Jimmy Buffett has left a huge hole in my heart.
@@lindacave3135 Jimmy Buffett is a way of life..."Mother, Mother ocean, I have heard your call.." His loss, especially the loss of his Live concerts is crushing
Naomi Judd committed suicide.
Lovely tribute and also RIP, Shane MacGown of The Pogues. Fairytale of New York will forever be in my mind.
Lisa Marie Presley, Tina Turner, Suzanne Somers, Matthew Perry, Burt Young, and Norman Lear made me the saddest of them all.
All deaths are sad.
Rest in peace, folks. Thanks for the entertainment.
Ninguém perdeu ninguém. Eles só mudaram de lugar. Estão vivos, ninguém morre ❤👽🙏
Yes! We are energy! the energy never die. jus transforma
When I see this display of BEAUTIFUL people gone, I wonder with sadness how is it possible they are gone, my eyes water with melancoly, and pray that our loving GOD welcome them in his presence so that I may see them again.
How are they beautiful? For example, Pee Wee Herman was caught mastuarbating in a movie theater. They are just like any other human. We are all beautiful. Most of us are not famous. What about the slaughter of 1400 Israelis by Hamas on Oct. 7? What about the Palistineian deaths? What about the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and Russian deaths? Put things in perspective! Do your eyes tears up about their deaths?
Why is life so short and why do we have to lose the ones we love so much.
Bc we are supposed to go to heaven to live eternal
Read Genesis, the why is there! Read John 3:16,17
The hope is there!
He loves us so much!
I never knew Ray Stevenson died. RIP
It's tragic to see so many very young faces here too. RIP
Beautiful tribute...may their memory be eternal...and to the people who have 'lost' their loved ones this year.
I'm sorry , not trying to nitpick cause I know trying to put together this wonderful list and not to leave anyone out can be hard and difficult job but you did forget someone; Musician, singer, songwriter and Eagles co founding member Randy Meisner ( March 8, 1946 - July 26, 2023).
Good one, I forgot about him.
Gordon Lightfoot.
Love Randy too, my favorite eagle 🦅 ❤
Such a beautiful tribute. Thank you for posting this. Irreplaceable losses.
This is the most amazing and exhaustive list of people we've lost, that I've ever seen. Most just do the biggest 10-12 people. The only thing I wish it had was a couple of their big hits listed under the name. So many I recognized, but couldn't place what I knew them from.
@jasonwomack4064, agree with you. some i really knew who they were, some just soso, others I had never heard of. It would have helped me if they could have been listed as: actor, producer, TV personality (ie: news icon, talkshow icon, etc), and so on.
My mouth fell open at so many that I didn't know had passed away
Agreed.
Gordon Lightfoot gave us that most memorable historical ballad, THE WRECK OF THE EDMUND FITZGERALD. How he got excluded is a real mystery.
That’s a very good one. My favorite is “If you could read my mind.” Man, he sure could tell a story in his songs.
Who?
@@noneyabidness9644 Gordon Lightfoot. Surely, you've heard his songs on the radio? THE WRECK OF THE EDMUND FITZGERALD was played often. It describes a tragedy that occurred on Lake Superior: "Superior, it's said, never gives up her dead, when the skies of November turn gloomy ..." I'm sure you'll find that song somewhere on the internet, where you can listen to it. It's quite unforgettable.
@@jrnfw4060 sorry, I have not.
Gordon’s Sundown was a huge hit. What a distinctive voice he had.
Very nice tribute. It's sad to see such vibrant people are no longer with us. Mark Goddard was a new one to me. Oh RIP forever, Don West!!
I will admit I did not know most of them. Yet, it was nice to see so many of them had lived lives into their 80s, with a few coming close to 100 years.
Me too
Not many I knew
Like the passing of a truly remarkable era. Thank you for the memories.
The piano music really added to the emotion of the video.
Completely lost it at 11:00 with our beloved *Paul Ruebens.*
R.I.P. Pee Wee!
It was a very sad year for loss. RIP Legends 🕯️
Richard Moll broke my heart!😢😢😢😢😢
It's important to let us know about the lovely stars who left us, to continue their journey of love and knowledge in the other dimension. They gave us joy and unforgettable evenings in admiration of their artistic gifts. Thanks! They will never be forgotten. ❤️
In loving memory of Steve Harwell of Smash Mouth(January 9, 1967-September 4, 2023) May your legacy and Rock music live on forever!
9:48 Thank you for including Jane Birkin to your list. In France she was an Icon I’ll miss her dearly
Jimmy Buffett's loss hit me hard. Been listening to him since the 70s.
"The world is the same. There's just less in it." RIP Captain Buffett...😢
I loved his song, Cheeseburgers in Paradise.
I only knew him for Margaritaville, but I knew he was a big star. May he RIP...
Great Tribute🙏🏻ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
Thank you for this. I did not realize that the incredibly talented Michael Gambon had died. Amazing Actor. Please add in Gordon Lightfoot if possible.
Who?
@@noneyabidness9644 Albus Dumbledore
@@ludovica8221 interesting. I never knew his name. I guess if your name literally has "light" in it, being a magical being makes sense.
@@noneyabidness9644 Oh I meant Gambon,, Gordon Lightfoot was a Canadian folk rock singer
Beautiful tribute thank you. may they rest in eternal peace ,good night beautiful souls🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Rest in peace all of them😢
You can include actor Tom Wilkerson who starred in movies like The Full Monty and Michael Collins among others He died today December 30 at age 75 😔
He was brilliant in everything he did.
Tom Wilkinson
Happy 100th belated birthday Mr. Bob Barker! Thank you for entertaining us for so many years and making us 80’s kids have a somewhat enjoyable sick day! Your smile and sense of humor will always have a place in my heart ♥️🥰! As for Paul Rubens, thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. I remember going to the theatre for the first time when I was 4-years old and my mom and I were supposed to see “101 Dalmatians”, but she by accident stepped into the wrong showing, which was “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure”. She regrets doing that, but I don’t! I was in love by your humor then, and I’m still in love with it. Now, with me being a mother, I get to share you with my son who thinks you are hilarious! You both will always have a special place in my heart 💙💙🥰
Please add the incredible British actor Tom Wilkinson to this lineup. He passed away Dec. 30th...and..please add beloved Canadian singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot.
Thank you for this beautiful remembrance. So much diversity and talent from all walks of life. May they have eternal rest and peace. 🕊️🙏❤️
Thanks for the memories 🙏❤️🙏
Ugh stop using the word “diversity”. Every time I see that word I think of Jew hating perverts or racists.
.....if you watch this every morning your life will be more meaningful and your problems will be less important .
You forgot to include an In Memoriam tribute to the great DAME EDNA (Barry Humphries) who died in April. But otherwise a wonderful tribute to all these great stars.
Sad that one of the GREATEST American actresses of all time, the formidable and amazing, PIPER LAURIE also died in 2023 😥
Other than that, I still can't believe and grasp that TINA TURNER is gone 😥😓 Makes me cry every time. She was supposed to live forever.......the world is not the same without Tina's light..... 💔💔
Some are very young
Burt Bacharach an amazing composer he was! My Music Hero. Such a SHAME that he never was honored for the Kennedy Centre!! R.I.P. BURT and thank you so, so much for all the great compositions!
RIP god bless to all the stars we have lost this year you will allways be remembered
Robert Blake was missed. March 9, 2023.
WHAT no mention of Denny Laine? He was a founding member of the Moody Blues, Wings with Paul McCartney, co-wrote the biggest selling single in the UK "Mull of Kintyre" and a Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee. His passing was reported world wide by all major news outlets as was the passing of Gordon Lightfoot.
Who?
Did I miss Keith Beck?
Thank you for this video. It is sad and beautiful at the same time.
I hope it's not too late, but the actor Tom Wilkinson died on December 30, 2023. He was such a good actor.
too late for what, video is already made?
"I hope it's not too late"
MF, don't you see the video's already uploaded on TH-cam??!! LMAO
I definitely love Gordon Lightfoot’s “If You Can Read My Mind.” I once sang it for karaoke it Memphis two years ago so yeah, it would’ve been nice if Lightfoot is on here.
i like how his voice quivers in that song
His voice may be quivering because he wrote the song about his first marriage dying.
Moving and beautiful. The ones that hit me the the hardest,Tina Turner,Norman Lear,Bob Barker and lastly but most sad Billy Miller. All are sad but Billy could no longer fight his demon. Please if you are having issues with mental health, get help!😢
And I had such a crush on Lance Kerwin back in the 70s....
I like the way you did this. Quiet and soft music. Perfect 😍.
I was surprised to see that Jimmy Buffett had passed. I had to stop to find out why. What a shock. My sincerest condolences. Also, thank you for using such a nice shot of Matthew Perry. Many may not know, but as an infant, only days old, he had cholic and the doctors put him on barbiturates. This is what I believe made him into an addict. He was a good man. I never imagined taking his passing so strongly. I guess it was listening to him tell his stories about his addiction. He never wanted the hand he was delt but through it all he became famous. Pretty remarkable.
Thank you all for your service, and may all your memories be a blessing to us all! We were blessed to have you, for as long as we did. Thank You!
It's nice to see some of the legendary wrestlers that passed last year included, but at the same time shameful that the son of the legendary Evel Knievel, Kaptain Robbie Knievel wasn't, a total legend in his own right. R.I.P. Robbie
No...I didn't cry through the WHOLE video. Maybe it's because I'm old; we can get weepy, looking back. Looking forward, Happy New Year to all.
I'm 64 and I just act like they are still alive as they are in the old movies and TV shows.
I really was shocked about the deaths of Jerry springer and Roger whittaker. Two wonderful persons: Jerry who I met a long time ago and Roger. His music and his voice will live on forever! May they rest in peace! Forever in my heart!
Thank you to all of these performers for being a part of my youth and adult years. Can't believe you're gone😢. Hopefully we'll all meet again someday in future lives💫🕊
I saw Sharon Farrell on LA morning show in the 1960s. She had a near death experience. She said she would never be afraid to die after what she had experienced❤
Amazing tribute! Can you please pick a different color for names and dates next time? I'm having a hard time seeing them against the background. Tfs ❤
Yes it's the same thing I was going to mention
In my graphic design classes we learned white reversed type can be harder to read than normal type. This is an example.
I'd like to mention Gaston Glock
July 19 1929‐-------December 27 2023
He wasn't a movie star or an entertainer but he changed the world with his inventions.
May they all RIP
The Glock .... probably one of the most famous sidearms produced today.
I only recognized a few of these since many of them were before my time, but may you all rest in peace. ♥
RIP Bray Wyatt. Many people I never heard of but he was failed to be mentioned.I am sure I am not the only person in the world who heard of him.
Also for all fans of Dancing with the Stars head judge Len Goodman died in April of 2023
That was beautiful. Thank you
A lot of great people all gone too soon. May they all continue to rest in peace 🙏🏽 ❤
R I.P To All The Stars,Who Left Us,They Will All Be Missed 😢
Im so glad most of them had long lives....we can all be so lucky 🙏❤️
So many young people have passed this year. So sad. Condolences to all the families who lost loved ones this past year. May God bless you and comfort you in your time of sorrow.
Beautiful tribute. Also passed this year: Seymour Stein (April 18, 1942 - April 2, 2023) record executive, co-founder of Sire Records (Madonna, Ramones, Talking Heads, Pretenders) and Jerry Moss (May 8, 1935 - August 16, 2023) co-founder of A&M Records with Herb Alpert (Police, Bryan Adams, Cat Stevens, Carpenters, Supertramp, Joan Armatrading, Janet Jackson and Alpert himself).
Good Tribute. I will miss Tina Turner 1939-2023, Jerry Springer 1944-2023, Richard Belzer 1944-2023, Sinead O'Connor 1966-2023, Steve Harwell (Smash Mouth) 1967-2023, Suzanne Somers 1946-2023 and Richard Moll, 1943-2023!

You missed Gordon and Roselynn Carter a First Lady.
Wonderful music for such a tribute, sadly you missed Gordon Lightfoot, among a few others.
I have read that the ancient Romans believed that a person's essence, a soul if you will believe, would be on Mt. Olympias as long as their name was remembered by the living. This tribute depressed me as i am a WWII baby and these were the faces and names I encountered in my life. I feel sorrow the sun will never shine on their faces again. I hope this tribute helps their names to be remembered.
Today (A I) Is a Baby, tomorrow will be a God of light that will bring light of the miracles of long ago were there was only faith of the fate of Mankind.
There is an old saying that as long as one person remembers them that they are not really gone. Every year I think about the people I've known who have passed just to keep them alive in my memories.
@@spaceflight1019I do the same. 🥺
Ďakujeme za pripomenutie,,,,odišli krásni,úspešní ľudia, česť ich pamiatke,,,🌹🌹🌹
Actor, writer and director Michael Norell, best known for his role as Captain Hank Stanley on the 1970’s action series Emergency! left us on May 12, 2023
Didn't even know Glenda Jackson had died. Saw her in Strange Interlude on Broadway in the early 80s. Most incredible stage performance I've ever seen.
I like the pace between each person, but two things. Next year use a color of font yellow or black when the background or clothing is white. I couldn't read many of the names. Second, for the lesser-known stars add a reference to their most major entertainment accomplishment.
I think add information to all of them, because who is known to one person, may be lesser known to another. There are a couple of other TH-cam channels that add information, and where available, add a cause of death.: Legacy, and the longer videos of Memoryman64 which include Americans and other nations' losses.
Other than the glaring omission of the great Gordon Lightfoot, this was a very beautiful and loving tribute.
Thanks for sharing
I have not heard of many of these "stars" but everyone is important to someone so may they RIP.
If you didn't grow up I'm the 60s and 70s, it's understandable.
This is a really great, respectful tribute. I only wish the names were not written in white because many of the backgrounds were too light for the name to be seen.
You missed Randy Meisner (The Eagles) who died on the same day as Sinead. Also missing Gordon Lightfoot (Canadian folk singer), Gary Rossington (guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd), and Jeff Beck (his own band & The Yardbirds). Also, for those who know Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Tim Bachman (Canadian singer) and his brother Robbie (drummer) died as well.
