Good points. Flowed nicely. Prepping is not a sin. Noah was told to get ready. Joseph was given dreams to prep for a famine. All through the Bible. God is in charge but we need to do, action. I pick prepping channels I can learn skills off of & not ones that are over dramatic. Living in Atlantic Canada & being a Girl, security is more an issue due to our country's limitations on legal choices. So any ideas on that, I would be in interest it! Thanks for sharing & God Bless!

Amen. I'm tired of people saying oh I'm trusting Jesus to feed me.. Hello Noah, Joseph do people even read the Bible anymore? I don't think he expects us to sit and do nothing.. Or go on vacations but not prepare..

The world is missing more men like you who take responsibility for their family. It is the Godly thing to do and is in God’s will. I’ll take that “toxic masculinity “ all day long! May God continue to bless and keep you.

Great video. Everyone needs to find their "comfort spot" and know their limitations like you said. My husband is 72 and his health is going down hill a bit, I'm 62. We have a mini farm and have always stocked up on just about everything since it's quite a drive to local stores. We also are Christians, we prep for ourselves and have also been led to keep some things on hand to share if needed. At our age I'm pretty sure we won't be surviving a major event. I can't see how we could survive and live like in the 1800's at our ages. Most people didn't live past 40 or 50 back then, life was hard. As a Christian we have that assurrance that the Lord has us in his hand. It's hard not to let anxiety rule. I look at Joseph in the Bible and how he had put aside grain that saved his people in the long run as well as the Egyptians. We should all do what we can to provide for ourselves and pray it's not as bad as some people predict.

I can so relate to what you are saying. My husband and I are a bit older than you and Michelle. 71 and 65. But we also live in a very small apartment with not much room to store my preps. My husband isn't able to help much because of his physical condition.
I probably have a year's worth of food put away in totes and on a 5 tier shelve thing I bought.
My 43 year old daughter is the only one who knows and I trust her completely. We have keys to each other's apts. I am very closed mouth to everyone else.

Something I'd like to contribute info on is a book that came into my possession just this last week entitled "Your Inside Guide to the Emergency Department: And Having to Prevent Having to Go"This is a book written by a Canadian Dr so its all Canada based. I've gotten this for my son in law, my daughter and their kids. They live on an acreage and its 20 minutes to the nearest hospital. If there's a problem that can be avoided with having to call an ambulance or a run into town, I'm all for it. That's why I invested in it.
If prepping is a sin, then why do the people who follow the Mormon faith have food storage for their families for up to 2 years per person? To me it's good to have some things set aside in your cupboards just in case. Where I live, there are some food shortages so being prepared is no bad thing.

Knowing your limits is important. Folks keep telling me I could buy half a cow and save money if I purchased a freezer. My answer is no :
    1] live in an apartment
    2] the extra electricity cost
3] no one to help move freezer in
4] one person half a cow would last me for years
    5] cost of the freezer
6] happy with what I am already doing
7] live on a 2nd floor apartment and have to limit weight of items I carry due to back and leg pain
Thank you so much for doing this video talking about limits and sensible prepping is needed during this time of other channels pushing fear preppin

My dad always kept a well stocked pantry. Before I moved from home he told me, if I needed an item from the grocery store, buy two. That way I wouldnt have to always run to the store for things. So I've always done that.
But years ago after seeing the world having so many issues I started making an extra effort to budget myself to buy a few extra items when grocery shopping. An extra can here and an extra box there for years has built my pantry up fairly good. While what I have won't last months, it will last for a little awhile. After that I'm leaving it in Gods hands. When it comes down to it, that's all any of us can do.

Good advice. I haven't heard much about personal physical limitations, but you bring up a good point, especially for some of us who are older and live alone. I love looking at prepper videos and can sometimes get jealous of folks who have these big rooms full of their prep. I'd love something like that, but I really don't need it for 1 person. I think knowing that you don't have to do everything you see on YT to have a good prep is another limit to know. I think it's also good to know what you're prepping for. I'm not expecting Armageddon, but I am in the Midwest, where we get a lot of cold and snow, so I prep so I don't have to go out in it. While there's more delivery post-pandemic, I think it's wrong to ask someone to come out in a snow storm because I didn't plan appropriately. I was surprised that you've got 18 months in an apartment. That's impressive.

I'm try to apply the concept of limiting factor learned from agriculture. For example, one thing I did was to purchase a wattmeter, run around measuring how much electricity different devices used. Made some changes, unplugged a lot of things, etc. cut my electricity usage by more than half, thereby freeing up enough to run a 100 watt led grow light.

I appreciate channels such as yours for the examples and teaching moments, but I am concerned that even though we don't know where you live, your neighbors could be watching your channel and know what you have. That is the one casualty of being a youtube creator for preppers. And no, it is not a sin to prepare. Joseph in the Old Testament prepped Egypt during times of plenty for the famine to come and was able to feed starving people. Even now as Christians we should always be prepping, i.e., praying and reading the bible.
