    Nice information. Recently I did PG in Manali and since then was looking for an institute to learn this. Watched both your videos and they are quite helpful. With more knowledge, fear reduces, and this is one sport which requires a lot of information and knowledge. Like you said over the period of time, physical activity is reduced and mental activity is more. It is very true that our body develops muscle memory and we no longer need to think about doing things, just like in driving. Thanks, once again for the info.

      One for question from you- "Where did you learn paragliding (school name)? Also if possible do let me know - Suppose if I wanted to fly everywhere in India (like mountains, beaches, etc) with proper knowledge of everything like emergency landing, and many more situations, then till which course I want to learn paragliding so that I can fly anywhere without difficulty?

    • @InfoDays
      @InfoDays  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Shresth Jwanil Samroha Hi, I am glad you found this video helpful. I learnt PG from a very experienced friend and PG Gurukul school that's in Bir, Himachal (Which is the best in India). paragliding.guru/
      I was not lucky to learn it in a single go due to time constraints.
      Paragliding is a ever-learning sport. You can never say you learnt everything. Once you complete P3 you can contact different schools elsewhere to help you fly in their region. Collect as many hours as you can and you will automatically know your confidence level. It is always good to fly under supervision for 10-20 hours. Communicating with other pilots will help you understand different situations and solutions.
      Basically, once you are in the sport you will automatically start progressing until the day you fly without any help. If time is not a constraint then the more you practice the faster and better you will learn.
      Also do note that you cannot just fly off from any hill. In P3 you will also learn about site & weather assessment. Please also note that just a little over confidence is also not good in this sport.
      I wish you good luck and hope you will achieve your dream of flying - safely. 🙂

    Thanks for the comprehensive information. I have three questions - 1. Mountaineering Institute in Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh is also offering a Paragliding course. Do you think it's good enough? 2. Can someone who is trained in Paramotor Flying also do Paragliding? 3. What is the probability of risky events in doing such activities?

    • @InfoDays
      @InfoDays  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nimas Dirang is equally good. I have mentioned it in comments in some other video. Paramotor flyer normally learns paragliding first as it is a progression. Paragliding has the basics of flying. Launch techniques are totally different and one should learn and re-learn when switching. Risk really depends on many factors. It is the same as horse riding or even riding a bike on highway at 100kmph. Somedays you can get away with big issues and sometimes even a small issue can be fatal. Overconfidence or lack of alertness overtime is risky in this sport. Once you taste the sport, you will get to know more. Best Wishes.

      @@gloomyhimanshu7161 For this there are no set rules in India. But as a ballpark to start tandem you should have at least 100 hours of flying time (after P3) and/or 200 hill launches. Major thing in tandem is that you also have to correct errors of the passenger both on takeoff and landing and sometimes even while flying. There are also no PG schools that teach tandem, so you will have to take guidance from some experienced tandem pilot after completing P3.

    Thank you so much, the information is very helpful. I am planning to do the P1+2+3 course from Bir this year around October. Can you suggest the best month to do it? Also, how long does the training go for on a daily basis? Will I be able to do my office work (say 7 hours) alongside the training?

      Do it during summer holidays
      You'll get cheaper rates
      Better flying due to summer heat
      And It would be a much pleasant enviornment

      Yes I will surely do. I had undergone skydiving training in 2013 and did one static-line jump. Couldn't progress to AFF as all training was banned in India after an accident in south. Will soon try to give all info related to solo skydiving in India and my personal experience.

    Thanks, it good and apt info. I would like to learn PG but confused between schools as FAI rating & APPI rating trainings have big cost difference, which one to opt for if the requirement is just to learn (not really fancy with food, accomodation, pics/videos) ?

    • @InfoDays
      @InfoDays  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frankly, it is tough choosing between PG schools because each would tell you they are the best and have the best national / international accreditations. But having said that if you are looking to learn and meet different learned pilots from all across the world, then going to BIr is the best. It is the only place where you will get the maximum 360 degree exposure at the best price. PG GURUKUL paragliding.guru/ could be your first choice.

    • @InfoDays
      @InfoDays  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, you can learn from any reputed school in Kamshet (given in description). Most of them provide APPI international certification. This is not a international licence but certifies you with a general pilot rating that is acceptable on many flying sites. While internationally BHPA is the most reputed organization in Paragliding and Hang gliding. If you want to learn from a reputed qualified instructor of BHPA then PG Gurukul in Bir, Himachal is the best. Though you will not get any certificate but the school itself is a certificate on its own.

      @@InfoDays beg to correct you 1)APPI is Indeed international giving license/rating in 80 countries through registered schools with FAI IPPI equivalent ratings with accreditation in India with Aero Club of INDIA (Oldest but yes Independent Aviation body ) (Not general as you mentioned) APPI is not dedicated to just one country like British BHPA, American USHPA or Canadaian HPAAC 2) you can't get BHPA or others in INDIA but you can get APPI - FAI IPPI in INDIA 3) No license is always better then some rating though not mandatory to fly anywhere but always comes handy along with log book when asked or to show your skill levels at new sites as many states moving towards structured paragliding rules including Himachal . 4) School certificates are useless 5) Rating have more advantages when it comes to insurance claim too as compare to no license/rating. 6) Kamshet schools are not just picture and videos either sad you made those comment without attending any not being biased and respecting your opinion but Nirvana and Templepilots have been giving trainings for more the 23 years now in more structured and safe environment have produced quite huge number of good & safe pilots 7) Basic training & learning needs safe environment you said Bir is good because it has high mountains . Student beginning his learning would not want to freak himself out by flying his first solo flight from India highest paragliding takeoff my sound cool but not safe as per any norms and logic. Yes Bir has small hills good for training but it is well known among advanced pilots for high mountain flying , Thermalling & XC and for Tandem JOyrides among tourist not for basic training but yes it is doable there.

      @@vaibhavkhaire3904 Thank you for correcting me on Point (1) for Point (6) I think you need to again view the video and understand what I have said in terms of videos and pictures. It is easily available from schools in Kamshet and no one cares for that in Bir/Billing. I have also in my video asked people to go to Kamshet and Bir/Billing both in equal weight depending where they live. I have also given most of the PG schools of Kamshet in my description and only one of Bir. I disagree on Point (7) as both PG sites are completely different. Kamshet may be good for amateur P1/P2 (with large chunk who never continue this sport) but as a whole P3+Thermalling Bir Billing is a one stop site.
      The video comes as my personal opinion and experiences with people from this industry, though not many but enough to understand the competition between the PG schools. Thank you.

    • @InfoDays
      @InfoDays  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In Kamshet you will get APPI certification with almost all schools. In Bir Billing there are no certifications but you can get yourself registered with PAI (Paragliding Association of India).
      Best combination is to do P1/P2 in Kamshet and P3 in Bir Billing and register with PAI.

    Greetings sir
    Really informative video sir. Thanks for the content.
    Sir just wanted some advice on which training academy to attend.
    PG Gurukul says they process international license and training centers in kamshet say they provide APPI certificate.
    My question is if I plan to persue PG as a sport at international level and not only as a hobby and would like to participate or go for solo flights in foreign countries, which institute would provide me with the requisite certificate/ license which is internationally recognised or would help me achieve my aim.
    From the video I understand that school in Bir have a more complete experience of PG but do not provide the certificates that can be used to gain an international license.
    Please correct me if I am wrong .
    Regards

    • @InfoDays
      @InfoDays  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually its a difficult question. What I have understood over time is that your skill is most important. Get trained for P1/P2 in Kamshet and then P3/P4 from Bir. Improve your skills in Bir then Get Paragliding India Association Pilot Rating. Later register with any international BHPA registered school and give a test for a IPPI card (International Pilot Proficiency Information Card). You can do the same with APPI also. There is no fixed path to follow. Take the best route that saves time, money and energy.
