Thunderlooper, Corkscrew, Black Hole. The glory days 😀
Nemesis was ahead of its time for AT in my opinion!
Absolutely. 30 years later, very few rollercoasters are as good.
It's got another 30 years yet, they recently just remade it
Would be one of the world’s best if a bit longer.
There is something so charming about seeing how the park used to be. Even nemesis looked very different back then (not considering reborn). It sounds just like how I remember it though!
Great video. Really captures the era.
AT low-key having better flat rides back then than it does now 😂
The Astro Dancer was deceptively brutal. I loved it!
Woah...those Thunder Looper memories, it breaking down in the pouring rain, brakes not working, soaked to the skin 😅
The memories 😁. Thanks for sharing
Fantastic video, so many fond memories came flooding back.
Amazing footage
I was there that year. 14 years old. Still hooked on Nemesis 🦀
it looks so surreal
I can't believe they had New Beast and the Black Hole there at the same time. They had the same layout!
Near enough, but remember 99% of the public isnt going to know that or particularly care if they did.
@@Tommo1983ful Blew my mind when i found out. In my defence I was a child but I used to adore New Beast but thought Black Hole was just OK. The ride experience changes everything about it (unless you know).
I was there watching WWW that day. Me and my girl Kept leaving the gig to go back and ride Nemesis.
There was no queue.
I gained concussion, broken jaw, and teeth on Corkscrew, never again. The last time I went,'Rita' had not long been opened (2005). Now, in my 50's and doubt, I'll be going again, no longer appeals to me.
When Towers was a world class park. 😢
People still travel from all over the world to Alton Towers. Nemesis Reborn opening day had the longest queue in Alton Towers history. Alton Towers remains a world class park with a much greater line up than it had in 1994.
@@somethingsinister8493 The rides are soooooo bland though! Barely any flats and the coasters.... meh.... Lets face it theres 25 coasters in Europe that you would pick before any from Towers.
Since Merlin took over quality certainly took a major dive. Now with the new management model and Bianca at the helm, I think we are at the foot of a new golden era.
@@freakyzulu82 What would really put Towers back on the map would be a world class RMC over the Valley.
So when did the ride height restrictions come in? They can't build above tree line but that shuttle looper is much taller
ThunderLooper was removed in 96 after locals complained about the loud noise it made, the treeline rule was brought in for the next season.
I like Rita and Thirteen but the whole of Talbot center/Ug Land/Dark Forest use to be so much more open
I also remember how the wet wet wet concert was a question in the flume queue! 😁
They should 100% open up dark forest
I was there that summer is that 30 years ago? It’s just how I remembered
Hi! I'm creating a documentary about the history of the Blackhole. Would you mind me using some of this footage in my video. Full credit will be given on the video and a link to your channel in the description. Thanks!
Yes mate. No problem.
