    Just wanted to say to all the truckers on here, thank you for what you do; you are truly the backbone of our societies and I cannot thank you enough for the long hours, overnight trips, and being away from your families, just so I can go to the store and buy a few apples.
    - Much love

    I just checked the specs and I don't see the Eaton Fuller 13 speed transmission as option. That's the best transmission ever made. My third truck won't be a Volvo anymore because of this.
    You can keep your I-shift money pit.
    And the same silly mirror with two thick heavy bars, covered in flimsy plastic, that covers your blind spots and falls apart in the first two months....

    • @Jawzzy
      @Jawzzy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for clarifying this. I didn't see it on the website and it scared me.
      My first truck had automatic transmission and had to sell it because of it. Nothing but problems. In this 2008 VNL 780 i have 13 speed Eaton Fuller and in 1.9 Million miles I never had to change anything in that transmission. Just oil and go.
      Thank you and have a great day.

    • @Jawzzy
      @Jawzzy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ MarvisTv.
      You obviously have no idea what I'm talking about. Go to a Volvo dealership and look at the mirrors on this trucks. The aerodynamic shield that covers the mirror support is made from flimsy plastic and breaks very easy.
      All other companies already switched to a single point mirror support that doesn't gets blown away by a side wind and doesn't cover your whole blind spot.

    • @EllipticGeometry
      @EllipticGeometry 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Visibility in the game can only be a good thing. Also, American Truck Simulator has had the same manufacturers from the start. By being the first to be licensed in a while, Volvo would get attention and be celebrated for adding variety. If others are first, Volvo would be just one out of many, and one that came late to the party at that.

    Very nice truck, but I think that the 16,1 liter European D16 sould be an option as well, because they have very good fuel efficiency, and some models even have over 700hp and 2200lb-ft of torque.

  • @elijahrobinson2362
    @elijahrobinson2362 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I understand that the 760 has a larger fridge mounted on the passenger side. It would be nice to have a more complete 'tour' of the cabinets/refrigerator and seating options. One thing I've been wondering since the launch news broke yesterday is: will there be a new model comparable to the 'old' 780, or does the 760 replace both 670/780 with a compromise? One thing that is still missing is rear wheel covers that blend in with the body work. I have to say I'm really disappointed that has not been resolved yet. Every 670/730/780 I've operated in an application always ends up with the rear sleeper panel being dirty (due to the need to set the 5th wheel so far back to address the heavy front end).

    • @zhainan
      @zhainan 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you go to their site, there's an 860 now as well as the 760, 860 is probably the upgrade to the 780

    Beautiful Tractor !,I am certainly a Volvo Truck Fan. Concerned though that truck manufacturers have a misguided perception of multi function controls on the steering wheel. Like many of the wonderful Volvo Designs, the intention is to persuade the Driver to keep the eyes forward. But the steering wheel controls in my opinion are too close and require more thought. From my thirty five years of trucking experience forethought is a very important skill a Driver can bestow. Thank you Volvo for the input of mind into the tractors design. Now design audio Driving education that guides driving conduct from inexperienced into confident and responsible Driving Skills.

  • @urco1969
    @urco1969 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow!!!! Where do I start????
    New grill, tow eye cover, "signature lights", dipstick on drivers side and most important- fridge under the seat. I can't believe you were able to create all this in 10 years.
    You should be ashamed! You were listening? To whom? This is insulting and disrespectful to all owner operators. Who do you selling your product to? Housewives or kids playing computer games? How about tell us how much that "signature" light cost, or that "easy to remove/loose" tow eye cover? Why after so many years you still putting injector cups that will leak gases into cooling system destroying budgets of so many good drivers? Why new alternator cost twice as much as old one but destroys batteries by overcharging them? Why turbo has a price tag of a new jet ski ? Why do I have to wait two days to replace some censor or belt tensioner and pay $800 + for it? Why most dealerships have 3-5 office people for every mechanic? So many why's you should be answering. How about an override switch for "new environment friendly exhaust system" so you can drive to nearest shop when your sensor is malfunctioning and you wan't pay thousands for towing. And stop with your fuel efficiency bs? I have 2000 Volvo with N-14 in it and it will beat any of your models with any load on any terrain!
    Don't get me wrong, look is important, comfort is very needed and valued but when you spend tens of thousands for maintenance and repairs every year, when you need to take money from college fund to pay for dropped valve repair ( $36000 estimated) it will come to the point when you'd say f... it, I've had enough.
    At the end I got it, you're not interested in small companies or owner operators, you'd rather sell thousands of your trucks to Walmart or UPS. But guess what? In near future they will build their own pretty trucks and dump you just like you dumping us right now....

      Jason Moyle I assume that you are from Europe that's why you are defending the Volvo brand. I don't think they sell a bad product overall but they thought they could bring their engines and drivetrain to the states and they would get the same results. Maybe they forgot the driving style and conditions are much different than those in Europe. Not sure why they are dropping valves and injectors maybe it's a material defect or maybe it's related to the high regeneration Temps. Hopefully these problems have been addressed.

    Volvo makes nice and comfortable trucks, but the biggest problem is service. I have a 2017 Volvo VNL780 and i brought it to Volvo dealer second time to fix a radio or put a new one and they can't fix it. It's five days now at dealership and they still can't find the problem.

    My 780 has a 77' sleeper and now you'll only be able to get a 760 with a 72' without a special order, that's a downgrade. The only part that's exciting is that early torque from turbocharged compound engine , but then again it will be obsolete when Nicola truck roles out.

I want to see the engine and be told the specs, alternator ratings, axles, suspension details, weights, sound proofing, etc. What are the specs on the fridge, inverter, generator, mattress, what are the maximum amount and capacity of battery can I put on it and how long do they last under load before the generator has to kick in. How quiet is the generator you know things like that. Details details details please.

    At 8:25, nice air release feature on the seat, but no way to see how that makes a difference in the demo cab you have since there aren't any vertical clues or reference points showing someone actually stepping down from the cab. perhaps you were pressed for time to make this video and maybe didn't complete the analysis for the script? perfectly understandable, though.

      Marcus Wallin D16 is dead. It doesn't work for the US market.

      Francis X. Maloney why? i'm not an us native so don't have so much clue about american truck market

    • @francisx1961
      @francisx1961 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Marcus Wallin US market is focused on fuel economy and the D16 has not been accepted in this market. 93% of all Volvo trucks are built with D13 which is made in USA. The D16 is made in Europe which adds even more cost to an already expensive truck. Besides it is NOT needed. When I started selling class 8 trucks in 1989 a 350hp Cummins with 1250 torque did the job in all 48 states. Now the D13 had 500hp with 1850 torque...who needs more??? There is no need to race up the hills.

      What is a good consumption in the US?

    • @francisx1961
      @francisx1961 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jake D that's when you buy a Cummnis 625. Volvo has not been accepted in the US heavy haul market so they obviously decided to cut their losses and discontinued the D16.
