Best teardown video. I scuba and free dive and found a flip 5. I just wanted to know how to tear down so I could properly clean everything before use. Good job keep up the useful videos
friend greetings excellent video. I wanted to ask you about the following, just below the 1R5 component is a 6-pin integrated that I am interested in knowing what integrated it is. since in my flip5 speaker that integrated exploded and cannot see the code to be able to replace it .. I don't have much knowledge of electronics please help me !!!
nice teardown dude, it was clean and the pic shot on every scene is on high detail. one question though, do the speaker still work after you put everything back together ? I failed connecting ribbon cable on my dualshock project before.. so ribbon cable still scares me
May be you have a guess where is the in point on the amp board from bt-section? I'd like to solder in there and have normal minijack aux in (usb-c is not an option for a small player connect)
Hello, my guess is that JBL initially planned to allow this speaker to be used as a speakerphone. Since they stated to remove this feature from all of their recent models, it ended up not betussd. I opened up a Flip5 with a different hardware design a few months ago in that revision the microphone was already removed.
I can't find the screws to take off the top and bottom. There's a different layout inside mine. The four side buttons broke. I was hoping the connector just became detached and I could get in there and plug it back in. I can't even get into it because the four screws for removing the top / bottom don't exist. Darn.
Hello, when I try the factory reset (play + vol up) nothing happens. Which bits do I need to take apart to do a manual factory reset please? The automated voice is too loud and I can't change the volume of it, and the volume buttons do not work properly (they skip track instead of change volume). So I think I was sold a faulty speaker and want to reset it. Thanks!
Hello Sir, first of all awesome video, just wanna ask I was thinking too remove the fabric black cover from JBL flip 5 to clean some dust off the cover. Is it fine to remove the cover like won't it get damaged?
Hi, thank you for your feedback! To answer your question: it is no problem to remove the cover to clean it (and underneath). The cover can even be washed with a mild soap. It is very easy to reinstall after letting it dry.
Thanks for the video! I found this video in an attempt to fix an issue where my JBL Flip 5 turns off a few seconds after powering up. Is there a particular part that I should investigate?
@@who6481 you're welcome. that is a great speaker. I also consider getting one before.. I eventually pick jbl 5 (due to it being a little bit more portable). but soundcore motion plus is also a great choice
I have a JBL flip 5 that the Bluetooth doesn’t turn on and I can’t connect new devices, do you think that is because something on the inside got disconnected?
It is easy to remove the daughter board that hold the charging port. But I have not replaced the port itself yet. I find the USB-C ports more difficult to replace than the old micro-USB ports.
@@MegaSafetyFirst yes that is the reason I'm asking for ya usb type c is difficult to change is there any solution to slove my problem dude pls give me some solution pls
@@MegaSafetyFirst Yeah man something is fishy with the charging port on this device, my charging port melted when I connected to a fast charger. It burn the cable the all the plastic melted into the type C port. Unable to find the replacement for that type c Port. Could you provide any links to replacement charging port or a similar port so that i can use that instead of the original one? Thanks
It's such underrated video! I couldn't find the full tear down, but you did it! Thanks!👍

Well done, and your electronic terminology is spot on! 👍🏻
I was about to open my flip 5 cover it's very difficult for me to open it, i want to wash it.
This video gave me many answers. Thank you. Scary to know there is a microphone inside without any purpose for the customer. Dang you Big Brother!
Thanks for video. Used minute 8 to change faulty charging port. 👍🏼
Respect, that is super fast 👍

I need to purchase a usb charge port board. Can you show me a link for that please.

There are different build variant.
The one that you have only has a couple of clips that hold the top and bottom in place.

I know this video is a year old but does anyone know where to fix or a video of how to replace parts?
I thought that it has two speaker
Nice bro Thnks ❤
Mine wouldn't on or charge, I have tried all I could to make it work nothing happens
Is there any way of upgrading the Bluetooth chip to Bluetooth 5.2
probably not, upgrading bluetooth chip would need a soldering process.. and the newer one might not have the same interface as the old one
@@thankyouverymochi completely forgot about but thanks l, ended up getting the soundcore motion + and very happy with it

There’s nothing that pushed the passive radiator it’s just air what😮
loved it!
Is it possible to damage the speakers if its too loud?
It is possible to damage the speaker when using the low frequency mode. Otherwise it should not happen.
Nothing to say, except with enlarged images it was better
Cool

Hi, when you press the Bluetooth button, does the LED still start to blink and does it play the sound for the pairing mode ?
Did you try a factory reset ?
