Thanks for showing your catches. Personally, I'm more interested in the structure being fishing. Point, bar, hump, or other
Also, what's your assessment of the Suzuki? Thank you

Jeffrey, I agree with your comment about the catches. I haven't posted in some time and just got lazy. It takes a bit of effort to put these videos together and I've been doing more fishing than editing. Got some ideas for future videos, we'll see if than pan out. FYI: these fish were caught from a reservoir I've posted about many times. The structures are primarily rip-rap/roads/ and associated humps. Their coming primarily at between 5'-8' with the deepest water in the areas being, at best, 15'. Man-made structures in a reservoir or a natural lake can be prime locations for the fish AND the fisherman. Go get 'em.
I'm overall, pretty happy with the Suzuki. Very reliable and dependable motor.
      Jim

    Jim,
I was wondering what device you have on the port side of your boat adjacent to your "fish finder"?

Michael, It's a Clearwater Classic flasher that I run in conjunction with a Garmin 93 SV. Jim

I was also wondering if you find it productive, under the right conditions, to troll other crankbaits (in addition to spoonplugs) faster than two to three mph?

    • @jjd8277

Michael, I absolutely troll crankbaits. All the experienced Spoonpluggers I know troll crankbaits. My preferences is for Shad Raps because they seem to be able to run correctly at the higher speeds: 4+ mph. For faster speeds, nothing beats the Spoonplug but it doesn't hurt to try running other crankbaits as they're always coming out with new lures. Don't be afraid to experiment in your presentation of lures. That's how you learn.
As an aside, when fishing by myself, I'll sometimes run two rods when I'm familiar with the structure situation: A Spoonplug on the rod I'm holding, a crankbait in the rod holder. If the fish prefer one over the other, I'll put the more productive lure on both rods. Keep in mind putting the lure in the right place, at the right time, in the right manner. Remember to vary your speed from slow to fast to fit the on-the-water conditions at the time. We're not always running the lures at 5+ mph. Structure is the Key
      Go get 'em.
